Looks great, all around. Totally agree with you, about finishing pieces to help keep us going, as per the pics I posted to your Discord. As fare as “dollar store” paints, I always buy Apple Barrel when it's on sale for $0.50 a bottle, so it definitely counts, 15 years old, or not
These came out really nice! I almost never use cheap paints. Even when it comes to terrain. I find that trying to be economical with GW paints doesn’t really work out. Those always dry before I manage to use all of them. As such, I just use the miniature paints because they make my life a lot easier.
the guy with the air brush comment has a good point about using one for the terrain. It would make a good video as well. I don't have one myself but they look cool. Not sure if I want to listen to an air compressor or clean the air brush or fiddle with the clogging. Now I am sounding like a naysayer I want to get one. I just don''t have the space and look for reason not to get one , so I don't feel bad about not having one
Loving this build. It strikes me that a dollar store paint costs a dollar, and decent craft paint costs about a buck fifty, so I question whether it's worthwhile using the lowest grade paint. Our local dollar tree has a different paint brand, I tried it once and it's crap. Hope yours is better.
I do like this paint, I know how it works and what to expect. You make a good point though, I wonder if my painting would improve if I got better paint👍 but I think it's good for people to know the world won't end if they want to save a buck when they paint this stuff.
@@summonlessermaker that’s awesome. I’ve been watching your great content for a few months and hadn’t realized that. I’m in Tehachapi, about two hours north of LA. I would drive anywhere to have a game with ya one day!
My man, you need an Airbrush ! Even a cheap one. I got a chinese, really cheap and it gave me a new perspective painting big terrain. I use it to paint most of the base colors and then I drybrush and paint some details with smaller brushers. I got frustrated in the first or second use because I clogged up it lol, but once I understood how to thin the paint it is perfect. I'm even doing zenithal highlight for minis 🖌 lol Notice that I only use water to thin my paints, nothing fancy as mediuns o thinners. This squidimar video has everything you need to know so you don't need to waste time watching multiple videos. th-cam.com/video/BLOT1Jkq9wk/w-d-xo.html&pp=ugMICgJwdBABGAHKBQhhaXJicnVzaA%3D%3D I loved the video and the terrain.🎨
I do have one actually I'm not sure the dollar store paint would have worked through an air brush but maybe I should try that. Also I kinda wanted the project to be approachable and I kinda like to eliminate excuses for people and help motivate them to get hobbying. Thanks so much though I really appreciate the feedback 👍
@@summonlessermaker I only use cheap paints in the air brush because that's all I have hahaha I get you wanting to motive people. Just remember to motivate yourself as well cut some slack by using the airbrush for these tedious tasks. Excite to see more of the catacomb!
What I try to do is to make ist to turn acrylic cheap paint into almost a contrast paint by diluting it. And always remember to clean the air brush when you finish your work session to avoid clogging.
You continue to be a huge inspiration for doing really beautiful hobby stuff without relying on the most expensive, coolest, new hotness.
Thanks! I try and eliminate excuses for people so they aren't scared of tackling a project.

Thanks man! Yeah technically craft paint. When I run out of that 15 year old craft paint I'm going to be in trouble 🤣
These came out really nice!

That's fair it's all about what you're used to.
You wouldn’t know it was dollar tree paint seeing the final product, Great job!
Thanks! I'm happy how it turned out too
This video reminds me that I need to finish painting the same Warcry terrain. I share your feelings about putting together that terrain.
👍 getter done! Good luck!
Really good work for using dollar store paint, love the vids on helping me get into the game without breaking the bank

I really appreciate your video and I like your leather jacket 😊

P.s. your terrain ROCKS!
Thanks so much!
It came out good 😊
I will say that I prefer your scratch builds of course… more character
Finishing can be hard but very satisfying 😊😊😊
Me too, but I'm super Glad to get this out of the gray plastic pile. Thanks for watching every week 👍
@@summonlessermaker you are very welcome 🤗
I definitely enjoy your videos 😁
now i know what to use my $0.50 fan brush for
🤣 yeah for sure 👍 it's my go to 👍
Can cheap brushes also be useful? On that, how do you take care of brushes?
Use them, abuse them when they stop working throw them out then go back to the dollar store and get new ones and do it all over again 🤣
