some are complaining about the dark DVR, i do not think it is that bad....so far so good i say...and great review on these goggles

nice review of these entry level goggles, i personally use the version 1 and they did a great job, even better in my opinion than some much more expensive once, good job, cheers
AMAzing; I was waiting for that diversity stuff :-) and when you holded the dvr buttons into the camera, and saying "but not only does it have diversity" - I was expecting some low advantage feature, then DVR! Hurrayyy :-)

Great review. They really got it right on this set.
I also bay one of this,,, after 10 minutes its brake down,, Hobby-King send me a new one, and let me keep the broken one. It was diversite reciver has go down. I hade some RX5808 5.8G 40CH Diversity FPV Receiver with OLED Display,, so i install this diversite reciver! And its working very good, very good picture,, can not see any difference between them, I tested 4km and both worked equally well!
I keep seeing the version 1 goggles are good🙏🏿.
Wish these were out a couple months ago before I purchased the original cyclops's.

Good googles, good reception, bad DVR. With some modifications, now DVR is good to. Flashed for full image and connect the input to AV out. The only thing that i lost with this modifications, i cant see the recordings on the internal screen, only on external display. Quick fix, adding one more switch next time.

Thanks for the review. This looks exactly like what I've been looking for, as I wear corrective lenses for astigmatism and far-sightedness. I currently have a set of Redpawz "antenna diversity" goggles (clones of the Eachine EV-800D) into which I've glued an old set of glasses which work okay, but the antenna diversity doesn't provide great reception. I should be able to put these right over the glasses on my face as I wear them. Cheers!
I used to forget to try and fit spectacles when looking at these 'bender/clam-shell' goggles so I'm chuffed I remembered! :D

Yeah, I contacted them straight away. They had a manual in the office. I asked if they could scan it and email it to me. They said they didn't have a scanner in the office! I asked if they were living in the 19th century! They said they would Snail Mail it to me. The function of the 3 buttons in front is confusing, and seems to change if you are in RX or DVR mode. The goggles do give me the best video for my eyes with glasses on. Thanks

I don't use Box Goggles myself, however theses do look like a great buy as a backup set, or as you side just to let a spectator have a look. Good Review
Thanks George, I'll be doing a 'recommended' kit video next month (hopefully) and these will be on the list for new pilots who want some of the toys on their goggles but don't have Fat Shark cash!
I have the V2's and I have to say that with the diversity and the dvr, this particular rendition of the cyclops will really bring it up to standard.

I liked my Quanum V2 goggles since they let me wear my glasses with them and always thought if they added diversity and DVR they would have a winner. One thing they left out is a fan. I moved to Fatsharks but still have my Quanums and these look like a good deal, cheap and effective, but they still left out a fan. My glasses would fog while wearing them and sometimes I had to land it was so bad I couldn't see. Adding a fan would make these the best cheap box goggles hands down. At least they have improved them without ruining the original concept.

I have the same goggles, but I only see one signal strength (antenna) on the screen?! If it diversity you should see both signal strengths on screen or am I wrong?
But is it possible to set the date and time?
You bring to everybody’s attention a very good product. Quick question: What’s the field of view of these goggles?
At $30, these seem like a great way to try FPV with one of my fixed-wing planes... But I have no idea what transmitter I need that will work with them. Almost all the transmitters on HobbyKing say "Not available in your country" (I'm in the USA). There's like one 2.4Ghz transmitter that I can buy and I have no idea if it'd work with this headset.
All 5.8ghz transmitters should work with them. Check out plaves like Hobbyking and RaceDayQuads for what they have in stock. See my Introduction to FPV playlist for more of the basics.. Best of luck

Hk states on their site that the receiver is -90 dBm ISM 5.8GHz 40ch.
Isn't that sensitivity too low for this days?
Most of receivers has at least -92dBm ISM sensitivity, while the top ones are at least -96dBm. How is that copes with flying behind some objects?
I ordered some items from infinity drones( nice chap ) and he said you are going to a series quad (won’t say the name ) but look forward to it
We are planning something! I'm hoping that we can start that build series with a new Flynoceros frame and some nice kit on it in the second half of next month.. Should be another cracking model to make..

I bought the quanum v2 pro as my first goggles and I guess I have an odd face as no matter what I did, couldn't get them to fit. Stock they completely crushed my nose, I had to totally remove the nose piece and weirdly, I have to place them really low down basically on my cheekbones otherwise the screen is too high. That results my nose being inside the goggles and they fog from breathing and they are uncomfortable in that position as they are pressing on the edge of my eyes.
I think I'll be going to the local race club and see if people will let me try some options there before I make any more purchases on goggles. Nice review but I dont expect these to fit me unfortunately as the v2 pro's were miles off for me.
Not all goggles fit all faces so these won't be any better than the V2s..
These looked promising, the image looked good, right up to the point were the screen just goes to black. Lock it on to the signal again, and that last about 30 seconds, and it’s back to a black screen. JUNK.
Hi there, great review. I've seen a few others for this goggle but apart from saying it, no one else (that I've seen) has physically shown that a pair of spectacles actually fit inside the opening. Can you tell me how wide the opening actually is because I measured my glasses and they are 14 cm wide. A tad wider than the front of my face. So the other question is - is there any or much light leakage or does the soft thickness of the foam accommodate that by closing in around the side of the face. Thanks again.
The spectacles I used in the video are 137mm across. Hope that helps..

Hi there. Great review! I'm a beginner and have started out with eachine 007 goggles for a few months and they have been great but reception has left a lot to be desired. I'm keen to upgrade for the sole purpose of improved more reliable reception though. Would this be a good choice or is there substantially better reception to be had with something like the aomway commanders or fatsharks? Thanks in advance :)
The reception in these is the same as the other versions - apart from this one has diversity! The receivers in this are pretty good. A lot of the other 'cheap' box style goggles have used what-ever was cheap as the internals and the quality of the screen and sensitivity of the receivers suffered as a result..

Painless360 : Hi good review, I may get these goggles as I need to wear 2'5 reading glasses because I'm long sighted / can't focus close up. I noticed the battery the on screen battery status icon bottom left. Qtn' if iI used a Runcam camera that sends your flight pack voltage info to the screen will there be a problem ?. I think you can move the voltage status icon around on the run cam not sure though.
From what I recall you can move the RunCam OSD pieces, see my reviews..
How does the screen quality on these, compares with the first version of the Cyclops?
To this day im still using the first version. I want to upgrade my goggles for the Summer and I was looking at the Fatshark prices when I saw these. Form factor of the Fatshark stile goggles is definitely a plus but although cheaper than they used to be, they are still big money for someone like me.
I was really undecided what to buy already and now these ones come out... Decisions, decisions....
The resolution appears the same as the very first version, for me the image has always been very good so this one is just the same.
Hello Great review as always. How well does it handle NTSC and Pal switch over. From changing one pal fpv camera to NTSC. Also does the OSD display at all times? Can it be removed?
Seems to handle NTSC and PAL no problem. Just like the other versions of this. The OSD can't be removed (as far as I've found)..

Depends on the size you want and budget. If you want to fly outdoors then the ViFly X150 and EMAX Hawk 5 are two of my favourites at the moment...

I have this googles. Latelly i notice one line horrizontally on The display, upper part. I used only 2 times in home. What could be the problem!? Cheers and thanks..
If it does it with more than one model then there is a chance it's a problem with the goggles. I'd get in touch with HobbyKing support..

I really want to get into FPV. So i have decided to take the plunge. Will these Cyclops diversity head set work with head tracking as i want to have a camera with pan and tilt and have that great experience in the cockpit. Im a experience Rc pilot but never got into FPV untill now. Im goin to purchase a hobbyking J3 navy cub with this set up as ive seen in your video's. Sorry for the babbling. Lol
No head tracking built in but there are extremal head tracking units you can get that attach to the top - see my videos on them..
what is the max sd card size for this product? i cant find that info anywhere.

What do recommend for some one like me . Because i am not sure if i would like the FPV. Does it take time to get use to it . For me to spend 100$ US is a lot if i do not like it .I live in Canada .And could you recommend a RTF drone that is FPV capable ??

Hi , just wondering if anyone could share their thoughts , i currently use the original eachine vrd2's which despite many bad reviews have performed really well ( Especially since swappin connector to xt30) , i was wondering if its worthwhile 'upgrading' to these ? My vrd2's only main issues would really be very very slightly out of focus (adjusters helped but not 100 %) and no auto scan . Also can the goggles 'osd' be moved/Switched off as with my betaflight osd + this aswell will be too much info on screen. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond.
No way to switch off OSD (covered in video), I've used the VRD2s (see my video them) and I think these are nicer to use..

How is the range with those antennas?
Sensitivity of the goggles is good. Actual effective flying range is very dependant on lots of other factors...
Do you benefit from both antennas at the same time r do u use each one individual
In true diversity it switches between one antenna and the other as the signal strength is detected.
Can you say something about the image quality and reception in accordance to the EV800(D)? I have a Quanum Cyclops version 1 at the moment but would like to have a separate FPV screen that I can put on a mount. The DV800(D) seems a good choice. Not to expensive an useable as goggle and FPV screen. But I don’t want less image quality than I have now with my Cyclops

I'd say the quality EV800(D) vs. Cyclops V2 (never used V1) is about the same but the screen seems smaller in EV800(D), probably due to lack of magnification lens. As for reception, Cyclops V2 is a little better than EV800.

I have a Xiaomi 4K Mi Drone and would like to get FOV goggles. Does anyone know if these would work? I have no idea what frequency it's FPV output uses as it normally uses it's own mobile phone app for FPV. This works very well but I would like to try a set of goggles. Cheers all. (Australia)
If it uses a Phone app then it’s probably using Wi-Fi to send the information back. Sadly, Wi-Fi isn’t one of the standard channels that traditional FPV goggles use. You could add a separate little FPV camera and transmitter to use it with goggles if that’s what you really want to do. Hope that helps..
@@Painless360 Thank you for your reply. Yes it does use wifi but only for the phone to remote controller link (Can also be via USB cable instead of wifi).
The drone's fpv is received by the remote control unit. There have been reviews of these drones receiving 4k fpv video from distances of 5km plus. Thanks again.

No realy that sounds strange but as new to the hobby thats what I expected what you see when you fly. Also. when its very expansive. Thx in anyway your videos helprd a lot!!!
These are the best all around fpv goggles in terms of screen size, clarity, features, functions and reliability. Comparatively the only other real choices are the machine ev800d and eachine ev100. The 800d has 5" screen and dvr, and the 100 model has no dvr, however all comparatively priced and good. The RC quantum cyclops however imo rule the roost for what you are getting for the$.
Can you plug hdmi into these to use with Realflight 8 or is there any sort of adapter?
No HDMI in on these..
Well I'm on my 2nd set after only one side of the Diversity did not work Hobbyking sent me a replacement with the same fault totally disappointed .
ya can change the dvr rec quality makes lot meter recording

I’ve not pushed the maximum range, but if you're looking for a flying field set of goggles these work great.

I already have a set of these, would it be so very hard to cut these apart add a DVR and a second receiver, I have sets of receivers and DVRs and antenna's laying around, my soldering skills are good, what do you think ??????

In their current state these goggles certainly are a huge disappointment for any Cyclops fan. The DVR image might be just bright enough under a blue sunny sky, like shown in the video. But unfortunately the weather is not always like that and some also like to fly (and record FPV) in the evening too. I also had a scratched lens and there are reports of overheating problems. The goggles are not even that cheap actually - you pay about 120 Euros incl. shipping+tax in Europe when ordering from China. HobbyKing is the only seller, unlike Eachines which you can get from various sources. No question Cyclops will be the best boxed goggles on the market - IF the problems are fixed. For now, I really regret selling my V2s with soldered and glued on ProDVR.

Looks like nice box goggles, too bad they're from HobbyKing. I've sworn them off due to repeatedly bad service...and I mean REALLY bad.
DO NOT BUY these. Several reports of DVR issues . The DVR is useless & unusable : very dark recording, glitching, corruption, recording just cutting out.
I still have the V2 , and used to have the v1 . This version is just bad. Get something else.
HK is also deleting bad reveiws off the product webpage.
If you've already gotten them you can record from an external DVR until HK comes up with a fix.
curious if its an sd card issue for most things other then darkness
I'm using a Scandisk Ultra and I'm still having issues. It flickers a lot when it switches RX's.

What do you propose for a good DVR ? Does the Eachine RO1/RO2 make the job connected tout a phone ?
