She was so talented, and would have become massively successful around the world had she had the opportunity to continue - I mean she became massive even though she was taken away from us so young. I myself found her, sadly, after the fact. I live in Finland so just about the other side of the globe and it's rare that we hear of acts before they become famous in a bigger scale. Nowadays it's possible but back then we barely had internet, let alone digital platforms or streaming services. No TH-cam. I remember getting her album without knowing anything about her, it was this beautifully designed CD, looked as soft and beautiful as the music on it. It contained all the songs she is best known for, in retrospect. As I was listening to the songs, both in English and in Spanish, I was loving the album and then I read the CD booklet and understood that it was an album compiled post-mortem by her family, so she was no longer here. It was a bittersweet moment as I had just found her and at the same moment realized I was holding this CD and this music filled the room and it was what she left us with. Still, she became a legend. Which is why I don't doubt for a second she would have continued to do amazing things had she had more time. I guess some people shine so bright that they don't need a lifetime to leave a permanent mark on the world.
I hear you Joe - and that is wonderful! She was amazing, and I will push as much as I can in my own little world! I want people to listen to her music and watch Netflix etc as that helps get the story out. I've just reacted - but not up yet, to Captive Heart - it is an amazing track! something is needed to get her over to the English speaking market, then BOOM! It will happen...it will. Much love and blessing for Sunday. take care of you and your family. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🦋🌹✨
That's why it one of her most infamous quotes fits her entire life story and that quote was the goal is not to live forever but to create something that will. And that Selena has done
So true Diva - it's as if the Universe knew what was coming - it gave her the most amazing send off at the Astrodome.. bless her soul..🙏🏽.but her legacy is testament to her life which is amazing. Many blessings 🙋🏽♀️✨🦋
She was such an incredible performer and had the possibility of being incredibly successful around the world more than she ever imagined alive. She was such a gift to the world during her short life that obviously lives on and on. She's so incredibly popular now due to outlets like TH-cam and as you mentioned, Netflix. The movie starring Jennifer Lopez was well done too and yes, that outfit, hair, and lipstick are all in there. What a loss to the world when she passed.
Bless you Claudia - I hear that. Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting my channel, much appreciated. Have a wonderful Wednesday , be happy and keep safe. Many blessings. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️✨🦋
@@psycheinc-theSLC hi hope everything is well on your end. glad lockdown is easing hopefully things will get back to normal soon. what has been your favourite Selena song so far? my grocery manager died a couple of weeks ago he was only 52 a year older than me. he didn’t show up for his shift so the police did a welfare check and found him in his bed. his workmates along with myself released balloons in his memory along with his sister and niece which was sad but nice at the same time. take care, stay safe and i’ll see you on the next one. Bye
@@alisonscott1469 Hello Alison - oh my goodness, this is such sad news? I keep saying to people that tomorrow is never promised so we must do better today. Also no one knows what lies beneath - that poor gentleman - 🙏🏽 may he now rest in peace. Please take good care of yourself Alison - remember you are important x. Selena: I've only heard the Captive Heart beginning as Im going to react to it, but I really like it - but just all of them are great. I doesn' t have to understand the language to appreciate her performance, style etc. I actually like the Netflix Series because it details her life more. I haven't seen the whole of Jos film but films are shorter and don't really dig down deep whereas the Netflix one does. I hear you about part one, but that was necessary to show how everything started. As said it's good that there's Netflix because then it can attract a wide audience. It's interesting, her last interview the reporter asked her what she wanted her legacy to be - the Universe knew what was coming by giving her a good send off act the Astrodome and we didn't know it. That's why life is so important because tomorrow isn't promised. Have a wonderful day Alison xx
@@psycheinc-theSLC thanks for your kind words. see you on the next Selena video. the only other music groups i have ever followed besides Selena are A-HA who hail from norway and are very underrated with 10 albums under their belt. they are best known for their 1985 hit take on me especially the video. maybe you can check them out on your channel. most of the videos are copywrited though. the other group are heavier and hail from finland. the bands name is HIM and the lead singer is called vile valo. HIM’s music is referred to as love metal. Take care, Bye 😘🏴🎤🎼
Sometimes it makes me sad wondering what would have been if she wasn't murdered. She was beautiful, talented and a very wonderful person. But I'm happy her legacy still going strong even today
Hi Austin - it's just mind boggling really - I just cannot understand it at all and agree with you. But we will keep playing her music and keeping her spirit alive! Thanks for supporting my channel - much appreciated. Have a wonderful, safe and happy Wednesday. Many blessings. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️✨🦋
Bless your heart Joe 🙏🏽 - that means the world to me. I believe in finding the positives in what I see as this helps open the doors to new people being interested in finding out more - negativity brings destruction and there's enough of that already. Thank you so much for stopping by and for supporting my channel - much appreciated. Have a wonderful Thursday, keep safe, be happy on purpose and many blessings. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🦋✨
Thank you for this video. I still miss her so much. I grew up with her and her music. She's Tejana (Texan) like me. I learned so much from watching her. She was so down to earth. Beautiful being inside and out.
Yes she was ElAngel - I think that's what I liked about her more than anything else, and right up until the end she had such a good heart and tried to see the good in the person that took her life. That I will never understand - but she showed us how amazing and loving a human being can be. Have a wonderful weekend, may it be peaceful, happy and full of blessings. Psyche ✨🙋🏽♀️🌹
and so are you..❤️. Thank you for supporting this older woman own YT who is doing it her way and striving to the top after 30 years. Thank you Ana. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🙏🏽❤️x
So glad you are watching the Netflix series i havent been able to see either season but from what ive seen on some online clips im more excited to get to it. Did you get to the part where she meets a young Beyonce? Its so crazy that these two queens actually crossed paths in real life, theres a clip of Beyonce on youtube talking about how she met Selena before she herself was famous. Soo cool!
Hi Roberto welcome to the SLC - lovely to see you! Thanks for your comment. Yes I've seen them both. I binged watched Part Two which came out last week in one day 😂🙈 - I just loved it. Plus playing her songs, it just made sense and completed the circle in my understanding of Selena! Netflix: It's very good and yes when I saw Beyonce I thought 'you see fate was working there!'. One should never under estimate fate, because more often than not it is an indication to our future, but most people fail to see that. I want to encourage people to open their eyes more, slow down a bit and take everything in as that is the guidance to moving forward and to making better informed choices. Beyonce meeting Selena just made Beyonce stop and take in the moment - she saw in Selena what she wanted for herself, and it is THAT moment that provided the extra fuel to keep Beyonce going..... as she saw exactly what she wanted her future to be - like Selena's - she heeded the moment ✨. Have a wonderful Thursday dear Roberto, please keep safe and be happy on purpose! Many blessings - Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🦋🙏🏽🌹x
i watched the netflix series too i didn’t like part one at all. part 2 was much better and the astrodome scene made me tear up and gave me chills because you knew what was coming next. my introduction to Selena Quintanilla was the jennifer lopez biopic. have you watched that yet? i recommend it more than netflix. i discovered Selena in 1997 because of the movie. She is my icon. i’m from Scotland. As long as we have Selena’s music she can never truly die. 💐 🏴🎤🎼🎬
Beautiful reaction and kind commentary. Selena did a duet with Juan Gabriel, she was 14. The song is Ya Lo Se Que Tu Te Vas. (I already know you are leaving). But try Juan Gabriel singing Asi Fue En Vivo (it happened this way) first, to get to know him. You will not be disappointed...carry on P...fan from Texas
You're welcome Nicole - I really love her - very good! More to come! have a wonderful Friday/weekend, please keep safe and happy. Many blessings. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🦋✨🙏🏽
