@@ZenCorvusYou are correct. I taught for 13 years (building construction - with Red Seal and 4 year B. Ed.) and witnessed too many teachers who actually believe that it is their right to be their advocate! I happily walked away from the “profession” after 13 years. It is no wonder that 3 out of 5 teachers quit within 5 years of teaching and you wonder about those who remain or become administrators and counselors. Again through my experience, those who had very little classroom management skills and could not teach the subject matter competently, go get their Master’s only for the reason to get out of the classroom, where they flounder in front of students.

If parents are not to be informed about this, then the principle is set, meaning: why stop at gender transitioning?
Kid doesn't even want to go to school and doesn't show the whole year: don't tell the parents.
Kid is rushed to hospital for a serious medical emergency: don't tell the parents.
Kid is failing school: don't tell the parents.
Kid got into a fight and seriously injured another child: don't tell the parents.....and finally...of course
Kid is sexually abused by a teacher: don't tell the parents.
If parents are not to be trusted....by default...with information about their kids for fear of abuse because the risk that some parents might abuse their kids when that information is revealed, then no parents should get any information about their kids at all for the very same reason.
...and with all due respect to Adam: we've heard this story before when it comes to these issues: give an inch take a mile comes to mind historically here. I just don't trust this movement pushing for this....not one bit.

The books parents want banned *_ARE PORN_* . I took screenshots of 4 books most wanted by the extremists to be in schools and first told my family and friends the names of the books and that they were pornographic. 99% scoffed and said those kinds of books would never be allowed in school libraries. My second cousins, 19 and 20 said they wouldn't have them in their school bc porn for kids is illegal.
After the conversation was over I posted the screenshots of the book excerpts graphics,. and posted them, several people were angry at me for posting such 'trash' on my page. 100% absolutely said BAN THEM, THEY ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN and most with kids. said they were going to check and make sure their schools didn't have them. Unless you have read some of these I don't think ppl understand just how bad some are.
The teachers, woke govs and school committees have been totally indoctrinated into this and fight the parents when they overwhelmingly want them gone. Perhaps we need parent groups choosing the books. If you want your kid to read them, BUY THEM for YOUR HOUSE.

Brian your guest is absolutely wrong and parents have the right to know about what their kids are doing period. They should not be "experimenting" with gender as they shouldn't be experimenting with drugs. The "danger" is not the parents but a school system that is indoctrinating minors. There is a very good reason why minors can't drink, or drive a car, or needs parental consent for school trips and you are trying to tell me that minors should be allowed to experiment behind the backs of their parents because those parents may disagree with their idea? They are doing their job as parents to protect their kids!! Any person who says otherwise cannot be trusted. The is supposed to be freedom of conscience in this country and parents have the right to raise their kids according to their beliefs until the child is older and can make their own choice what they believe. As a mother and grandmother mother I am totally against anyone trying to groom my grandkids and cause gender confusion where none exists. That is why so many parents of all belief systems are protesting. Hand off our Kids period!!!

The government should stay in its own lane. Parents have always been and should remain in charge of their children and not any woke government. Or school board.

I was raised in an era where gay meant extremely happy. The teachers taught spelling, reading writing and math and the teachers looked like NORMAL human beings, well dressed and well groomed...I would not want to have my children subjected to and influenced by what is being passed off as an education system today...and also...if their was a problem with a student the parent was called and expected to address it.

Worst schools in the system , New-Brunswick ! I lived in Nee-Brunswick for several years ,never had the issues I had with the school system that I had with them ! Instead of worrying about sex they should be working on bringing up test grades for math, science etc . Teachers are not parents and they don’t know kids like parents do but if you ask a teacher they will tell you they know more your child then you ,that’s a problem ! I am getting very aggravated, because in Canada if you are a parent it it assumed that you are a “bad” abusive parent ! And it all started with Trudeau and his totalitarian regime he is trying so hard to impose on Canadians ! First step :destroy families and communities , !

Until the "KID" is 18, the parents have the right to know. The only thing that should trump that is if there is some sort of abuse going on at home. PERIOD!

I don't have children myself, but I'll take the parents' side. If parents are not to be trusted, why are they still responsible for children then? Common sense tells us the answer on this one. Who does a child naturally turn in 90% of cases when there's an issue? Mommy or Daddy. So lets go with the God given, natural way and not come between the children and their parents where there's not abuse.

Let's reverse that scenario....if a parent was exposing their child to explicit sex acts by allowing them to read or watch them how long do you think it would take for Child Protection to be banging on the door to remove the children...yet parents are just supposed to sit back and allow STRANGERS to abuse our children?

You’re bang on, Brian with one of your opening statements that this whole things starts with the “wrong assumption”, i.e., that parents are, somehow, all bad. I also get that often the parents are not the first people a child may tell if they’re experiencing some sort of gender dysphoria. But to start this process of socially transitioning the child w/o the parents knowledge or consent is wrong. And to be clear, we’re talking about children, not young adults.

Telling a child that they were born as a boy or a girl and there's nothing that can actually change that is NOT ABUSE. Telling your child that they were not made "wrong" and you love the way they were made is one of the most loving things a parent can do. Lying to kids so they fill their bodies with deadly chemicals and hormones and getting healthy body parts surgically removed IS ABUSE.

It’s interesting. The State, has absolutely NO RIGHT to determine how our own kids are raised. They have a right of protect them, if we, the parents/guardians are abusing them, but anything related to SEX or GENDER THEORY are NOT and should NOT be in their purview, period. They are OUR KIDS…I can respect what your interviewee was saying, but I don’t believe that here in CANADA, we have the same issues, or issues as extremes as they do in the states. I could be wrong, but I don’t believe that.
School Sex and sex theory are not there to promote “sexual intercourse” or “sexual preference”, it’s there to explain how the procreation of the species, is done…period. There is no reason to explain sexual positions or preferences…they have NOTHING to do with how to make a baby..and contrary to some peoples beliefs, that is done with a “man” and a “woman”…a biological MAN and a biological WOMAN…. That is what schools “sex education” is for.
Congrats to the provinces that have already implemented the changes needed to protect our children. Now if only our leaders on high, will realize the idiocy of their ways, and ensure that is done across the board.
Ensure our “children” are protected for ideologies that could potentially affect their future mental state and growth, is something that needs to be ensured. Children “experimenting” with this kind of belief, should make sure they speak with their parents about it, so that the parents can protect them if necessary, if/when they decide that it’s not for them, and to ensure a healthy, family atmosphere, and hopefully a future, healthy adult.
When they are adults, then all the power to them. They can make decisions like that on their own, but that’s up to them AFTER they have become adults.

I get annoyed at the - if you’ll pardon the expression - promiscuous use of the word “ban”. Electing to not make controversial material available everywhere, at all times, to all people, is not a “ban”. The Soviet Union actually banned books by refusing to publish them, and not permitting them to be imported. No one is proposing anything like that kind of regime. These materials are widely available, other than in school libraries, so let’s untwist our knickers.

No one thinks it's a bit strange for teachers to be talking to children in private without parent's consent? Especially about sexuality or personal beliefs. That just screams abuse or grooming and you can't tell me different.

The schools don't know better than the parents. If the kid doesn't feel comfortable sharing their identity with their parents, they sure the hell shouldn't transition while they're at school. If the kid feels safe transitioning at home, they should bring a permission note so they can continue transitioning at school.
