I am loving loving the content that you produced but I am more excited about the fact that you have on a Baltimore Orioles hat. I was born and raised in Baltimore and I was surprised but happy that you are wearing that hat. 🔥💪🏾💯🎙️⚾️🧢🏟️
Awesome message. The hardest thing for me to overcome is the temptation to jump right in with no training or, at best, half - ass training and try to make money quickly instead of being patient and getting proper training and having the potential to make industry standard rates on a consistent basis.
Precisely. If the field were plumbing, people wouldn’t dare but for whatever reason, people figure if they have a mouth and they can talk then they can be a voice actor. Not the case.
I’m so happy I found you on TH-cam, Paul! Your content is great. I’m a new subscriber and anxious to check out more of your videos. Thank you for all the good information!
This is a much needed video!!!! Thank you, sir. This is a passion of mine and an art that needs continuous training. There is a significant investment, but the payoff is AMAZING
I see your "FU AI" pillow and was wondering what your predictions are for Voice Over acting in the future? People keep telling me that AI will take my job if I pursue this. I worked in Radio for years and vividly remember people telling me "radio is dead". Meanwhile I had a 10 year career in that field. I didn't make much but I still found jobs!
I knew 25 years ago radio would be gutted because they failed to get really really good at listening to the audience and to embrace the internet. Voice actors who don’t get really, really good at acting and don’t embrace AI to make it work for them will be gutted. Your choice.
@@Shannon_Robbie Two separate questions. First AI won't "take your job" if you're really well trained. Secondly, you get AI to work for you by getting a very good voice model made with contract that protects you and gives you control, consent, and fair compensation.
Hi Paul, Thank you for your informative videos in regards to VO. I have been a subscriber for over a year and I want to be a High end VO performer. Question did you have VO training before you started if so was it private or group training. I hope to get a reply with feedback from you soon.
When I started 25 years ago, I had no training, and I got my ass handed to me. The best I could do for many many years was to take side clients while I was doing radio. Years later, when I decided to do Voiceover full-time, I knew the first step was training. At that time I trained with Terry Daniel at Universal voice talent. It was private training. I had several coaches since then that I’ve coached with privately.
It’s a different skill set in many ways. Voice acting is more akin to film acting than it is to stage acting. Everything in the theater is big, exaggerated, dramatic. Voice acting is comparatively small and subtle. That said if you have good script analysis and character, development skills, and can create a compelling subtext, those skills are transferable to VO, TV, film, whatever.
Liking the 2 camera shoot Paul!
Thanks. 👊
My first start in VO research. . . EXCELLENT ADVICE and I am SO glad I started here. Thanks Paul ^_^.
You’re very kind. If I can help at all, please let me know

@vo-pro How do you get AI to work for you when it could take your job?

How does voice acting training compare to theatre acting?
