I'm glad you are respecting George's privacy in regards to his development. It's amazing how much they pick up, they listen to everything! And agree about keeping it real with mum friends, social media I think encourages sharing just the positives, but actually sharing the difficulties results in real connections with others, and I've found that others are so often having very similar experiences and struggles.
20:47: “we were that smug couple”. Lol
Pretty much what my husband and I were pre-kids. We always judged people on reality romance shows that an ideal couple is this and that. I have known and dated him for four years prior to being pregnant and the arguments started creeping up slowly after my first was born. Different parenting styles, perspectives, and expectations accompanied by lack of sleep and no date nights for a while did the trick and pushed us into the real world of married couples.
Really loved the video Shan, I love your honesty. Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤
Really enjoyed this Q&A! Felt the honesty and truth in it, especially the question on motherhood and friends. I'm in the same boat, it's very difficult to make friends now and definitely is a lonely road, especially when your village isn't very big and with how life is super busy nowadays compared to back in the day lol xx
My son is a year older than George so has just finished his first term in Reception. Our first choice was an absolutely brilliant school and our closest school to walk to but out of catchment and oversubscribed 😭 however he was first on the waiting list and he got a place in June off the waiting list 😀 and his best friend was second on the waiting list, so even if you don't get into your first choice there is always movement on the waiting list 🙂
Have a very happy Christmas ♥
You’ll make lots of mum friends when George starts school
You’ll make mum friends when george starts school xx
Really enjoyed this ❤ I don’t have any friends and I feel like we’ve had a good ol’ natter lol. Being a mumma of 2 under 5 too… I get ya 😂 x
Aaaw I live in Hampshire! I also have no mum friends, just 1 mum friend I knew from school but barely see her! I have a 2 year old so hopefully when she goes to nursery but we will see 😔 xx
I love your cardigan! Where is it from please Shan?
Zara, but 4 years ago!♥️
Where is the pizza takeaway box from please?
Aldi!! 💖
Would you guys consider home education if school isn't for him or he doesn't get into any of the 3 as it definitely happens?x
If you don’t go back to work at all, then you will have to pay back the occupational maternity pay you received. Something to be mindful of when you’re saving money as you’ll need to put extra away if you intend to pay it back and not return to work.
I quit my job straight after my maternity leave, and I did not need to pay anything back. I have few friends who have done the same thing in different companies and none of them have paid anything. Actually I got paid for the holidays I acquired during maternity leave.
Local government jobs you have to do unless you’re only getting statutory maternity pay
