From the doorway as you exit the Old Hub Station (asteroid mine where you find the laser tool blueprint) look up and to the left slightly. You'll see an abandoned escape pod similar to your starting area. You can open the door in the back and inside there are 24 fabric. Go inside Theta-9. Turn right and enter Theta-9 HULL area (requires keycard). In the private chamber rooms (requires keycards) you will find beds. Three of the four beds can be deconstructed for fabric and iron. If you save and log out/in the beds will respawn. It's a janky way to farm fabric but there you have it.

i think you missed scanning the tall cylindrical structures inside that first place you went. they give you base modules that let you build zero gravity tubes that go up and down on your base.
Unless the dev added stuff to the red cave, there are no attack drones in there, just some face sucking octopus things lol. Wishing you a great day. Take Care!
making good progress. I'm still mad I lost my last deposit miner scan somehow. one of the 2 on the big red asteroid you were at on this episode was missing. the little drones were there but no miner to scan. so I ended my game with that one achievement undone.

the patch that came out today also gave us fiber that we can find in the yellow and blue domes that can be used to make fabric. just fyi

The other vehicle fragments are in the red cave, not too many attack drones there.
