- Nicolas Mbarga ,conocido como Prince Nico Mbarga ,Nació el 23 de agosto de 1950 en Abakaliki (Nigeria) capital del estado de Ebonyi, era el tercero de una familia de 5 hermanos ,de madre nigeriana (Johana Cosmos Mbarga) y padre camerunés (Cosmos Obama Mbarga) por lo cual fusiono las tradiciones culturales de ambas culturas.
El 24 de junio de 1997 ,un accidente de motocicleta silencio la voz de Prince Nico Mbarga

Est resté un homme, un musicien discipliné, chantant en anglais et vivant au Nigeria, un pays qui l'a révélé à la face du monde et fait de lui ce musicien célébre que tout le monde a aimé, adulé dans toute la sous-région ouest africaine au cours des années 70/80.
Il est bon de savoir que le prince Nico Mbargo, prince de la musique est un camerounais qui a quitté son pays pour s'installer au Nigeria voisin.
Son pere est Camerounais et sa mere Nigerianne.

Une anecdote à propos de Prince NICO,svp! 1978 le Rocafil Jazz en provenance de Tiko et du Nigeria voisin transite par Nkongsamba. Arrivée 15h au stade de Baréssoumtou... Le match de football prévu est annulé, et les joueurs,moi même en tête, suivent le cortège des musiciens... ! Notre bonheur et celui du public était total !

Uno de los clásicos de Prince Nico Mbarga, incluso antes que el famoso Aki Special. Sonó muchísimo en las emisoras AM de Barranquilla a finales de los años 70 (1978-1979). Se dice que lo impulsó primero el pick-up El Gran Che, pero personalmente también se lo escuché al Timbalero, al Coreano de Conce Hernández (q.e.p.d.) y al Solista.

Hola, querida, yo también me comí el cuento de que toda esta música que llamamos "champeta africana" es exclusivamente congolesa . Pues primero que todo este tipo de música recibe muchos nombres a lo largo de la costa occidental de África y sin ir más lejos Nico Mbarga es mitad nigeriano, mitad camerunés. Sin embargo se decanta más por cantar en Ibo y en Inglés. Muchisima gente Ibo pisó tierra colombiana y enriquecieron nuestra música e idioma. Entonces que vivan Nigeria, Camerún, Colombia... y qué carajo... el Congo también.

es ingles, el disco habla de cuando el se hizo musico el papa le decia que el ser musico no era bien remunerado, y otra cositas como cuando se casó varias veces y el papa le decia otra vez te cazas, y despues como cuando hizo rocafill jazz y llegaron las mujeres, el dinero. en resumidas cuentas es eso lo que dice
