its a dam shame when these two Highschools sound better than the TC vs Alcorn Battle ... This was a Tie, both sound good. St aug has more trumpet sound but Walker has more lower brass sound!

I hear every part when Aug play. For those that say they’re playing all whole notes and tbones can’t be heard, must either be partially hearing impaired or maybe you’re just not that musically inclined. Both bands have variations of notes and tempo, but when the entire band plays and I don’t mean parts that are emphasized, the Aug was better. LW is ok but not better today than Aug. they play SU arrangements and if you’re going to step into that roll, then expect to be judged like SU sound. Often imitated but never duplicated. When the Aug plays, you can close your eyes and know it’s them playing. Originality, full sound, Purple with the W this night.

LW won Waaaay more balance I hear every section but the woodwinds. On augs side I don’t heat shit but screamers. Trumpets and mellos. I can only hear trombones on whole notes and even then I have to listen out for them. This wasn’t the full battle but imo LW took this one on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd song.

O. Perry Walker was the first to run that tribute to Bob Marley in New Orleans back in the early 2000's and I must say I like whats been done with it now it's a much better version then we played.
Also you seen how LW handled the whole situation with both bands being disrespectful, like true professionals.
Lootchie Grip Aug played Tribute in the 90’s. That was there response to Kennedy’s Skin I’m In.
Actually the time Tribute was played here was by St. Aug in 1988.
St. Aug got that arrangement from TXSU ( Aug alumni) and started playing it in 1988. I know it to be facts because I was at TXSU and we blew it at SU in 86. #history
