I am also 45! grew up with MCR he looks great and much younger he also lost a ton of weight but you are only as old as you feel! GreT to see him back in his element!
They're literally the only band I will love unconditionally until the day I die, words can't describe how happy I was to finally be able to see them perform live. I get emotional just thinking about the show I went to because it feels like a once in a lifetime experience
I was also at the Auckland show basically at the front. I can't even put it into words how much this band means to me. Im still crying so hard over them
i saw them in dallas last month and was sad they didn’t perform I Don’t Love You, so thank you for posting this omg. i love this song sm. they play so well at every show and i’m so grateful i got to see them
i've waited 11 years to hear them play I Don't Love You live, and kept checking their setlists to see if they were playing it. That song got me through some of the darkest times in life. Only twice on the whole tour did they perform it, and I got to see it at the last show. I bawled my fucking eyes out. I'll never forget how those opening chords felt, it sent chills head to toe. Words can't describe it. A part of myself was healed during that performance. So beyond grateful
It's just so thrilling to see Gerard so comfortable. You can tell they were a little rusty and hesitant early on in the reunion, kinda stiff... but now they're jumping around stage, thrashing, having a blast. So so so happy for them
@@Cherrybulbasaur I think Robert Smith still sounds good, because of genetics and the fact that he has lived a healthy lifestyle without heavy drugs. Also he was one of the few tenors in the 80s in a genre dominated by baritones. I honestly think its easier for a girl to maintain her voice, because female voices in general are much more flexible and light than male voices other than the high tenors who can sing like a mezzo. Girls are much better at mixing their voices and not forcing notes through their throats. I think the girls that can't maintain their voices are ones who sing extremely light and delicate vocal runs like Elizabeth Fraser who might have a vocal run that goes into the 6th octave in head voice and after getting older hitting those obscenely high notes is far less fluid than in the younger days.
@@soysaucehairdye7869 a genre dominated by baritones? The 80s was tenor central by far the decade of Male high notes, total tenor time. No clue what you're on about there bud. lol
am i crazy or does his voice have much better tone than it did a decade ago????? maybe its him getting older but there's more depth in his tone, i swear. he;s never sounded better live
Man, is Gerard actually a vampire? I swear he's aging backwards doing these shows, he looks almost like he did when he first did Helena! Hair to match too!
Did he find the fountain of youth in the past 2 years cause this is a wild transformation from what he was looking like a few years back. He looks just like 2005 again lol
This concert was the first time I ever saw them live. I got there in the morning and waited all day so I could be right up in front of the stage. I've listened to them almost every day since I was 8 years old. I'm 24 now and never thought I would see them in person. I've never cried during a concert before, but as soon as I Don't Love You came on I couldn't hold the tears back. Best concert I've ever been to without a doubt.
He's definitely lost a ton and I hope too that he just got fit for touring and it's not an illness. I think though, he looks healthy and sounds amazing so those are good signs

I really appreciate all your MCR recordings! I actually think this is THE best Helena performance I've seen. Amazing that he can still bring that kind of passion even after performing it SO many times.
I saw them October 8th and honestly if they played "i dont love you" that night I would have broke down and cried... ive always loved this song but for the longest time (around 2-3 years) I couldnt listen to it because it just hurt so much after my ex and I broke up and it would remind me of the last words he said to me before leaving me for someone else... im in a better place now and i can listen to it again; I just have a deeper appreciation for the lyrics in it now since they mean so much to me personally.
"I Don't Love You" means different to me now that I just recently broke up. But more in a positive way. Hope you're doing fine and will get someone better that you deserve. Just remember, better days ahead!
I'm so happy to see Gerard taking care of himself again. and how to see it in the heydays of the mcr. Gerard you are my inspiration, I'll get there soon!
Seen their performance in When We Were Young Festival right before this one. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that they performed better here than in WWWYF?
i think this was the final show they had for the us leg before wwwy fest so i think they really amped it up, and compared to the fest, the people in this concert really seem more consistently into the songs, so the energy just really resonated with the band even more.
gerard lookin 10 years younger than he looked 2 years ago
I think it’s because he got back in shape for performing. Looks good!
And looks 20 years older when MCR first appear this year. I think he did some Diet and Gym for make his performance back good af
That's what working out and caring about your appereance looks like.
energy vampire ❤
Only some pounds less and we will have the sassy diva's body again.
gerard’s vocals are 100% at a peak. they have so much control now
Then why does he have to use effect pedals??

How does he look younger than he did in like 2007? Crazy
Yup..back in 2020 he look old..but now he look younger back ..

Even at this day and age, Gerard still has his voice
male singers tend to keep their voices far better than female, like robert smith for example, still sounds like he did in his 20s in his 60s.

gerard always had a very cherubic, youthful face so it was really the weight that made him look older. he looks great now
