I was fucking there!! Madison square garden!!!! Clash of the titan !! I have to say tho Slayer was the band that got everyone crazy! I remember leaving the venue and I screamed “ Slayer”!!! And all hell broke loose!! Best time ever
Agreed. Slayer was intense. I remember Slayer whipping the crowd into a frenzy. I think the high point for Anthrax was actually Bring The Noise with Chuck D and Flavor Flav joining them.
That week when Anthrax was filming Married With Children, i was already on vacation in L.A. at that time. I heard they were going to film an episode that week so i tried to get in as an audience member for the filming of that episode at "Hollywood Center Studios" but it was too late all the seats where filled by other tourists.
We never missed an episode of Married With Children. I was six when the episode aired and it was my introduction to anthrax. I thought they were the coolest guys in the world, and still do 30 years later
The years 1991 and '92 were such an exciting time to not just be a metal fan but a rock fan. Nirvana broke grunge big, and thrash was at it's zenith, with Metallica and Megadeth releasing huge albums. It was insane seeing Anthrax on Married With Children, but then hearing Joey Belladonna being fired shortly after. They were never more mainstream, but I think the pressure lead to Joey's departure. I was then blown away by "Sound of White Noise", and a new chapter began.
90 to 94 is the zenith of metal and hard rock . Once Facelift and Razors Edge and Pantera came out in 1990 it was just a constant onslaught of clash ambums until end of 1994

That was when old punk bands like Bad Religion put out major label albums. The Circle Jerks put out a reunion album. The Sex Pistols and The Misfits reunited, but The Ramones released their last album in 1995.

In European Speed-Power Metal there was a Big Metal Revival around 1994-1995 with “Land of the Free” from Gamma Ray, “Imaginations from the Other Side” from Blind Guardian, “Dreamspace” from Stratovarius & “Master of the Rings” from Helloween while in the US it was all about Grunge & Destroying Metal! 🌍😉

I agree. And while Joey is now back in the fold, the band's recent music is more traditional metal than it is thrash. While it is understandable for this stage of the band's evolution, the aggression is no longer there.

I saw the Clash of the Titans show at Darien Lake in NY that summer. So great seeing all those bands. I was such a big MWC fan then as well. When that episode aired I was so stoked to see a band that I loved being part of a big show like that.
I'm 52. I grew up with anthrax music. Every episode of this brings me back to that time of my life. How time flies! Hope to see anthrax on their next tour!

I was and still am a huge Anthrax fan. I saw that episode of Married With Children the night it aired. I was 9 years old...it was fucking awesome. I'm a drummer as well and have been playing since 2 or 3 years old. My dad (R.I P.) Bought me all of the Anthrax albums on Vinyl when I was 7 and I sat and taught myself how to play all the songs, it took some time but I eventually got 'em down by the time I was 13. Needless to say you were one of many big influences on me growing up...thank you for that. I'll never forget getting, "State Of Euphoria" on vinyl when I was 8 in the summer of '89...it came with that awesome Hologram Sticker. Wish I'd never stuck it on my mom and dad's refrigerator, lol.
Still watching MWC tv repetition every Saturday here in Germany and still laughing my ass off. Not only for me, but for all metalheads, especially Anthrax maniacs, that episode is truly the highlight of the series!
Dude, my best friend had the cassette. We were listening to it as a couple of 12 year olds all the time thinking "We shouldn't have this." It was so good. Startin' Up A Posse killed us. We had no idea you could put that many swear words in one song.
The early 90s were a time of change, but in spite of the grunge genre we still had our beloved metal bands trying to give us metal heads great albums and Married with Childre.

I remember meeting Amanda Bearse at a ComiCon in Niagara Falls. I was a huge fan of the movie "Fright Night" in which she played a character named Amy. We talked a lot about the movie, but also about her character Marcy on "Married With Children". I remember telling her I was a fan of Anthrax, and "Dinner with Anthrax" was one of my favorite episodes. She laughed and said she remembered it well.

I saw the Clash of the Titans tour twice. Once at Madison Square Garden in NYC & once at Lake Compounce Amusement Park in CT! So awesome. The only thing that would've made it better was if Death Angel played instead of Alice In Chains as originally planned. The drummer of DA was injured in a tour bus accident so AIC was added last minute. Nothing against AIC, but DA would've fit better with Slayer Anthrax & Megadeth.
I saw you guys opening for Maiden at the Long Beach Area and also at the Clash of the Titans at the Pacific Amphitheater. I have the Tix stubs and the concert T-shirt for Clash. Long live Anthrax 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽. ps: never missed MWC and I recorded the Anthrax episode 😁
I was invited to see the show in Fort Wayne, IN, by my friends, but my parents wouldn’t let me go. I love them, but it still haunts me. I was 16 at the time and FW was hours away.

@@123612100 tbh, Stomp and Vol 8 are in my personal all-time top 10. Scott's best lyric writing. They changed to the times, they've basically adapted to 3 distinct generations of metal and have excelled in each one. I love that about them. I've avoided the 2 latest albums due to my John bias but that ended today. The Bush era will always be the soundtrack to the best decade of my life but I'm cool with Joey. I'm just glad 40 years on there still releasing killer stuff
I have four really big concert regrets: Not seeing Clash of the Titans, Metallica/Guns N Roses, George Carlin, and Type O Negative on the tour before Peter Steele died.
They didn’t mention this here, but Scott was supposed to have a kissing scene with Applegate, but she absolutely refused. THAT would have been the highest point of his life, and made me extremely envious.

I saw them at the Richfield Coliseum. A helluva deal by today's concert standards.
Saw them at Weedsport Speedway in upstate NY. Alice in Chains got booed mercilessly, mainly because the order worked out with Slayer right after them.

As a German I can only laugh about that. Here you can legally drink beer, wine and champagne at 16 and all the harder stuff at 18.
