- In #Singapore, ice cream carts are often spotted outside schools and along popular shopping districts. We love the ice cream sandwiches they sell and have always wondered where they get their stocks from! 🤔 We found our answer at Chip Guan Heng, one of Singapore's oldest ice cream distributors.

At our shcool there’s two vendors that sell ice cream one of the vendors had really good business as the other had no business I felt really bad for the uncle so every time when I would want ice cream I would buy it from the uncle that needed help.

Thankyou uncle for the supply of ice cream. At my house which is in gombak, malaysia there was one Chinese uncle selling ice cream on walls motorcycle. My father told me He has bees selling ice cream since he was still teenager and my father was still in school by that time. People call hi ah chai. And even I called him that. Until i know what the meaning of ah chai is, i started to feel i didnt deserve to call him that because he is even older than my father. He always calls me singa and my cousin harimau. Haaha. He always remembers us. Then come one time where Matkool(a brand like walls) also selling ice cream on motorcycle amd their motorcycle was plenty than walls, this uncle didnt comes that often. As far as i remember, it has been 6 years i didnt see him anymore. I dont know if he is still alive or not anymore. I also didnt know his name. If any of his family read this, i live in taman kamariah, gombak. Say thanks to him for being so kind and selling ice cream for me for the last 28 years.

When I was p6 and we were having remedial classes, the moment bell rings at 4pm, we usually rush out just to get those ice cream as he leaves at around 4pm+ my favourite is chocolate peppermint:D

For all you singaporean who crave these old uncle ice-cream, there is an old uncle at jurong mrt traffic light area who still sells these type of ice cream.

Lucy Elizabeth its not a complicated name actually, over here, people can either give their child a chinese name or a chinese and english name and if you do have an english name then ots what most people would address you as or else you would be using your chinese name

I usually get those kinds of ice cream in Orchard during the night with my fam and it’s yummy
I like our local take on red bean ice cream with coconut taste. I tried a Japanese type of red bean and matcha combination sundae once and it didn't work for me. Their red beans were too sweet and matcha is best if you leave and taste it on its own. Nothing wrong with that. Just that I prefer the local flavor more. 😶

There’s use to be a wholesale ice cream warehouse near my dads house. As a kid he use to take me to buy a pack of an ice cream of my choice.

My ice cream man growing up sold wrist rockets, steel bbs, airsoft guns, illegal fireworks, lighter's, fire belly toads, Little turtles, black market Vietnamese cigarettes and dime bags of weed..... Plus ice cream and soda..... Dude had it all man haha.
