I have been dying for Mother Remakes in a Claymation style for eons. The series is definitely fine as it is plotwise, but remakes THIS gorgeous would not only be wonderful but would also be a way to make the series relevant again (and also, I dunno... have reason to release the third one in America...)

I think claymation fits the Earthbound series because the characters were all originally modelled by hand from clay and then the sprites were made based on the clay models
@@worldsboss I think the way Mother 3 was originally meant to look was a perfect mixture of the two designs. The blocky, polygonal style of the N64 just merges the pixel art aesthetic with the character and personality the clay models ooze. Makes me sad we'll never see that version either, it could've been great

Nintendo has always given direct creative control of the Mother series to Shigesato Itoi, who became good friends with Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto, but *especially* with Mr. Iwata. Due to the extremely close relationship and deep respect those two, and by direct proxy most of the higher-ups in the entire company, Nintedo gave Itoi every creative liberty over the Mother projects. He decided they'd be able to make the base sprites a lot more lively with something real to work off of, so the clay models were born and they've been used for every Mother game since! What sucks about this is that Mother 3 had a real chance to give us an opportunity to see the characters in a lot more detail, and have a lot less up to imagination. But, things happen, maybe if Itoi makes another Mother game we'll finally get it in 3D
@@skitheadvideos2802 One of duster’s legs is damaged ( probably caused by Wess because he’s shown to be abusive to Duster) From what I heard, the creator wanted to add some more variety of characters to match the real world so that might also be the case

I feel incredibly conflicted watching this video On one hand, seeing this recreation of the scene is absolutely glorious and feels like humanity's real purpose, but on the other hand, I just made myself witness something Nintendo will never make

Finding it hard to express my praise because in most cases you can't really say how much you love how the limp on someone looks, but the detail in Duster's animation is perfect lol
An HD remake of the whole trilogy in this style has been my dream game for years now. Amazing work, I can't tell you how much I wish I could play the whole game like this!
Love it when fan recreations of iconic scenes in old games go the extra mile and instead of just making a 1:1 recreation they make some additional animation to make an already great scene even better. I know sometimes it's hit or miss since it can feel like the animator is trying too hard, but when it's more subtle stuff like this it's almost always an improvement.
I've always been a huge Mother 2/Earthbound fan but never got to 3 for some reason. I'm starting it now. It's 2021 and this is the first time I have become aware of this scene/dance. This is a classic moment of gaming and I've been totally oblivious to It's existence. I like how his face looks when he glances back to see if he's being watched.
Thank you so much for making this. Mother 3 is the most important piece of art in my entire life, it is my favourite piece of media and it is not often I see anybody put in the love and effort into this series as I do, thank you for keeping the memory of this great game alive

I really appreciate you giving duster a limp. Its a little detail that you couldve easily left out and not many would say anything, and it shows you really payed attention when making this and put love into it.
It's super subtle, but I love how Duster starts to slowly bob his head side-to-side to the music when it gets into the second half, as if he's enjoying it (even if it's not technically there) before shortly getting that enjoyment interrupted by the dance itself.
The way Duster stands uncomfortably stiff when Wess turns around is sending me! I love that you expanded on the original animation like that. Bravo to the team!
Man, this looks really good. I thought it wasn't possible to make this scene look more glorious, but you did it! Duster even has a limp and everything! Now I want a cartoon and a claymation game.
The quality throughout this whole thing is really just incredible. Even the tiny little swaying/bouncing animations on things like Duster turning around or the door opening. Just awesome. Fantastic work.
