From my understanding Diluc got jumped by the entire Fatui Harbingers
Its says he drew the attention of the harbingers and they confronted him in the same way the harbingers are taking each gnosis but not its only 1 who has grabbed each gnosis I highly doubt all.of them would stop what they are doing in each nation to go confront one guy

Possibilities
1) diluc's father isn't actually dead and the one we say die was a clone made by dottore since diluc's dad is the fatui number 10 and the fatui needed him so they faked his death and when diluc went to shenz he was almost killed but didn't kill him as an order from diluc's father
2) one of the Hexen saved diluc since the tea pot in diluc's house looks similar to the one that was on the table in the hexen
3) diluc was almost killed but capitano ordered the fatui to return him to mond since capitano won't kill a teenager
4) kaeya is somehow related to the fatui since one of the events bad in 2.0 patches was about tanoki ( idk how to spell it but sayu hates being called that) ans in that event the restaurants in mind and liyue were closed to make a huge meal and it was delivered to a hotel related to the fatui And Kaeya was behind it ..also peirro looks similar to kaeya maybe they are related

1 and 4 sound like a stretch but 2 and 3 makes sense. 3 sounds like the most plausible because not only was Diluc young, that if Capitano spared him, Diluc could get stronger and be a worthy opponent which would be an epic fight in my opinion.

Diluc’s father being the 10th Harbinger is just a theory based purely on the fact that the only available place below No.5 is No.1, and people think Capitano is No.1 because he’s that strong, but that would also push Pierro outside of the order sequence, which would then create another position for an “unknown Fatui Harbinger”. It’s all theories and speculations, so don’t state them as fact. Sheesh…

@@thawingkarma233 That's why after 4.1 it was basically confirmed. The only unconfirmed ones we had before 4.1 were Capitano and Arlecchino. Childe says Capitano is too far up the ranks to notice him, so he can't be number 10. There was debate over whether it was Arlecchino was number 10 and Capitano was number 4, or Capitano was number 1 with Arlecchino being 4 and Pierro not having a number, which is what the leakers were saying. Then Arlecchino was confirmed as number 4 which meant that had to be correct.
Also 4.0 introduced the quest with Salsa where she sets up the "Alliance of Artists to Overthrow the Evil Organization and Protect the Future of Fontaine" where she names the Traveler as number 1 in the Alliance, and Paimon number 2, Paimon asks what number she is and she replies "I'm the founder, so obviously I'm number 0!" Which has to be a hint about Pierro because otherwise why would Hoyo put that in there?
Hoyo have also done a similar thing with the Hexenzirkel. They showed eight witches on their intro screen, they put seven chairs around their table with a gap in between two which suggested a missing chair, and then only confirmed six members (Alice, Rhinedottir, Barbeloth, Nicole, Andersdotter and I. Ivanovna). That caused a bunch of speculation about who the missing two witches could be. Hoyo likes doing this. They like creating mysterious organisations with unclear information about their membership. It's a way to keep the fanbase engaged.
I think it was Capitano. The Knave would have killed Diluc. Capitano is honourable and wouldn't kill a teenager

Capitano _may be_ honourable but it's a different matter to him if an individual has hostility towards the Fatui as a whole. Especially if Diluc costed the Fatui a number of soldiers.

I personally think it is most likely Scaramouche, the 6th Harbinger. Scaramouche used to lead abyss activities but after he got promoted into a harbinger he was responsible for overseeing fatui activities throughout Teyvat. Knowing Diluc attacking many bases throughout Teyvat, Scaramouche most likely be the one who faced him as he is responsible for overseeing foreign fatui activities. He is also fits the bill of the kind of person who slowly watches over their enemy and would try finish them immediately just like what he did to Traveler in Inazuma. As well as him being the 6th Harbinger also fits the bill being strong enough to accomplish such task.

Diluc is no doubt receruited by the Hexenzirkel and related to Mage N (Nicole) as we can see Nicole's tea set design inside the Dawn winery dining table and fireplace side table, even on Diluc's coat and on the main floor carpet. Its like a family logo. Alice even wanted to adopt him because she said she feels he is like a son. This shows that she must be close to his parents as well. Nicole might even be his mom. Diluc is probably the "owl" of the Hexenzirkel or their "spy" in Monstadt. His constellation is an owl and he's even got an Owl statue in his winery. Owls are strongly associated with witches as well as brews (brewery). These are my thoughts about his relations to the Hexenzirkel so far.

[-] When she was mentioned as a potential character that could have watched over Diluc and also the same person that made him run away by his own will. Columbina for some reason somehow really fits due to her character after thinking about it for a while. Columbina, despite having little knowledge regarding about her. Her design and how she behaves and descriptions by other Harbingers lead up to me speculating what she could be. By her design, many people have took notice of the wings and eyes in particular. These details are usually accounted for by angels, Seraphims to be more specific.
From what I searched up, Seraphims usually have a lot of wings and a lot of eyes. And considering how she behaves and how she's described other Harbingers with this sense of eeriness/mystery. Then I could speculate or assume some of her abilities with to a certain extent and why it could be her that did this.
[-] As for my speculation. I think that the reason why her eyes are somewhat sealed is due to the reason that she basically sees everything regardless wether they're open or closed. Seraphims have many eyes so keeping 2 closed wouldn't affect her much, It also may also have a special reason that is unknown to me. This could also explain how she would be able to track Diluc down due to this ability despite running amok to multiple Fatui camps while almost none of the Harbingers nor the Fatui itself succeeded in doing. And as for how she was able to make Diluc run away, I assume scared or terrified or by his own will. That would be because of her behavior/abilities and how the other Harbingers described her. My assumption would be that this other ability she has is to manipulate what you feel or think. Such as making people loose their will to fight (basing this off how Scaramouche said he could only challenge her). Or being able to terrify her opponents to the extent that they would just run away or outright avoid her (Based off Childe's voiceline where he said to stay away from her). My guess is that she used this same power to scare or made Diluc run away. Especially considering that Diluc isn't really the type of person that would run away because he's 'scared'. He did literally went on and made his own choice to solo the Fatui and to an extent Snezhnaya itself. So I'd highly doubt he would be terrified of someone more powerful than him considering he very well knew what he was putting himself into. So to have some sort of character to 'scare' him off is particularly interesting.
That's essentially my take on it at least. Feel free to leave your thoughts on it
To add to this, which I unfortunately forgot. Is her curious behavior and how it was emphasized within the few words she had in the Signora funeral video. I believe the reason 'why' she would have any concern on the matter regarding Diluc's massacre is due to her curious nature. Out of everyone of the Harbingers, I assume that they see this matter beyond them considering how they mostly have their own agendas. Dottorre with experimentation, Arlecchino with intelligence gathering, Scaramouche trying to be a god ect.
As for Columbina, her being inspired by angels, I believe her agenda is being involved with lost souls. Or a person that deals with others that are having some internal conflict, similar to a therapist. My guess is that the reason why she's singing at Signora's coffin is due to this agenda. Which I believe is also the reason why she may have insisted to confront Diluc directly. Since he was a lost soul trying to find the 'truth' of his father's death.
I know that Harbingers are really really strong but an 18 year old challenging the whole Fatuti in Shneznaya and giving them so much trouble that a Harbinger or multiple Harbingers had to step in ... That's no easy feat, I wish his game play was stronger though

It's highly likely to be nicole, cuz the teacup she used during her meeting with the traveler in Fontaine was the exact same as the one in dawn winery, meaning she could potentially have some ties with him.
Would not be surprised if Diluc is/will be the 10th Harbinger.

Crack theory: Dilucs father was the old 10th. While in Shneznaya, Diluc became the new 10th after waring with the harbingers and meeting the Tsaritsa and learning what the fatui were for. His current position is a cover.

Seems like it was already plan ahead for him to be relevant....A sign that Hoyoverse have done a great job balancing characters based on their purpose and what they can do that others cant exactly do. I mean even we consider the case of them copy pasting skillsets and just changing a bit how exactly it works, the way they have done things for characters are generally really good with minimal shitness observe. Majority are just not giving that certain power level expectation effectively....

I think the only flaw with the Hexenzirkel saving Diluc is that Diluc joined them, this is a fatal flaw since Diluc joined “a vast underground network organization” and “rose through their ranks.” However, the Hexenzirkel criteria of joining is Alice find some interest in them. Albedo implied that Alice rarely interested in anyone, therefore the wordings make it unlikely that “a vast” organization would have only 10 people or something.
Yeah this is why the comment just above yours about Diluc being the tenth harbinger made me think “oh. My. God.”

I think the Tsaritsa is a genius at convincing all kinds of sod people to her sides. I mean… she got all the gnosis so far, lost through just talking through her harbingers. I think she is likely in the morally right area in the end - opposite the principles.
Like how we have to team up with them in each area even just a little bit is all adding up to working with them in the future. As long as we’re allowed to kill Dottore etc. .

I imagine it was either-
Capitano who tracked him and fought him in an honorable duel where Diluc narrowly survived his initial blows and was saved at the last second.
Arlecchino avenging her “siblings” and “children” making it a battle of vengeance on both sides. She wouldn’t have let this go, though. I think she would burn Dawn Winery for this than let him go with a warning.
La Signora- She would have toyed with him and not pursued him further after he left with injured pride.
Childe- You think this guy WOULDN’T go after a troublesome threat to the Fatui? A fight with someone who became a captain the same age he became abyss touched (14 years) would be rather poetic. Diluc probably wouldn’t have seen the foul legacy transformation coming and been thrown off by it. He’s also the type to drop it once the initial fight is over.
Dottore- highly probable, but in the WEBTOON, the Mondstadt segment had no clue who the “Dark Knight Hero” was or had any knowledge on the delusion- which I would expect they all would if any. It’s loose pre-canon, but it’s enough to make me question his involvement in the pursuit.
Come to think of it any harbinger can kill Diluc but no one seriously did maybe Kaeya relation to abyss is making Pierro not touching Diluc
More likely Pulcinella since he seem to be the one that manage the Fatui camps and organizations so it make sense that the Rooster is the one that have responsibility when something like this happen. The other one is signora. They didn't need to stalk diluc in their own since Fatui have tons of people to gather intel.

No he didnt. In the profile story it legit says he narrowly escaped death at the deaths of the harbingers thanks to 3rd party. We dont know how many he fought,was the fight relative etc

1 harbinger is enough to get a gnosis from an archon why would they send all? The discription says harbingers plural as in the organization similar how the "harbingers" are collecting each gnosis but not literally all.of them thats crazy and taken out of context, I womt rule.out anything of course but to say all harbingers in all regions stopped what they were doing to handle one kid is very very unlikely and way way overkill they dont even do that for a gnosis which is more priority then anything

In most cases, I believe the only reason Diluc would have survived without his vision is because the harbinger who attacked him allowed him to escape.
One of my theories for the 10th Harbinger is actually Grand Master Varka, and if they are a harbinger, may have had a soft spot for Diluc and let him go in the end.

I don't know chief. columbina seems to be the type that would kill without a second and for fun. In other words killing is the same as breathing air for her in my opinion. I could see the righteousness capitano beating him easily and letting him live for being brave.

After reading again, Kaeya says something very interesting. Earlier in the story, he says, about the Collei incident: "I bet the Fatui are behind all this." But later, when he goes to confront Diluc and ask for help, he says:
"Did I forget to mention it may have something to do with a certain Delusion? Something you believe to have been left behind by your father, no? It turns out, prejudice is a hindrance, as it is with the Black Fire incident. Some believe the Fatui to be behind it, but you... you know how that power works better than anyone. So if it was indeed a scheme to implicate Mond, they wouldn't leave any threads to be tracked back to them." - the *as it is with the Black Fire incident* means that he is talking about both incidents (Crepus and Collei)... that seems like the Fatui were behind them, but not exactly (or not directly). Also, if they planned Crepus' incident, why would they leave behind the Delusion, the metal bird and a witness (that they never tried to kill again)?
My best guess is that Crepus himself was the one behind the fight with Ursa (maybe it was his way to protect Mondstadt while not being a KoF.. killing the monster that tormented the city for so many years).
We clearly see in the manga the fatui birds attracted the ursa
@@Shepard-l3z Yes, the point is we don't know for certain who the metal birds belonged to. They might as well belong to Crepus (since him and Diluc have so many connections to birds already).
The Dottore we see there doesn't even care about the deaths of their 2 diplomats and told robot Krupp that he was free to do whatever he wanted. He also didn't help Barnabas in any moment.. but the metal birds were still around the city (that robot Krupp chased to destroy).
Amber said that those birds were the only lead against the Fatui, and who destroyed them all? Diluc.. He could've been using his father's old toys.
That's just a theory anyway, but there's definitely something strange about this incident.

We saw already fatui using them and it was a random fatui who planted them on Dilluc and Crepus
@@Shepard-l3z Yeah, and I mean that Crepus was part of the Fatui, so technically it was the Fatui using them. And I actually searched the whole manga to see if he appeared again, and in chapter 16 there's a guy with the exact same hairstyle and color inside Angel's Share, too bad we can't see his eyes but he's the only one with the same hair

I'm pretty sure the witch that saved Diluc was "N". Look at the pattern on the back of his coat on his normal skin and at the tea cup on his table and compare that to the tea cup whenever "N" appears when she sneaks to the traveler in Fontaine.
