    Thanks for the unboxing, looks good. I have the 400 lithium which I charge with a 220 watt panel. It's under the 22V and haven't had any problems. I get about 150W input in a sunny day. Would probably see more with the MPPT. Hopefully we'll see the 500x in New Zealand sometime soon.

      I'll get a charging by solar video up soon. Thanks for your comments!

    Great review, thanks for your efforts.. gone from the old yet 400 to the 1400 3 weeks ago. It is very satisfying generating your own power with a desirable gadget 😄. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

      B&C what kinds of panels and connections are you using?

      4x Boulder 50 in 2 sets with each set a separate 8mm cable (9m) to the MPPT inputs I got as a gift from my parents 😄. The MPPT charger has to be bought separately on the 1400.

    Thanks for the video. I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these and it is currently sold out everywhere I go. I found some on eBay but they are jacking up the prices for it. I currently have the Yeti 200X and enjoy it!

      I just uploaded a video of a charging issue with the Yeti 500x in case you are interested.

    I was sold this unit as new even though it was used (found the previous owner's receipt in the box). My main purpose was to see if I got an adapter cable that came in the Goal Zero 150. Puzzled why I sat through most of this and the accessory cable boxes were never opened.

      Sorry to hear you were sold used as new. But I didn't open the accy boxes because it was just the wall power adapter in two parts. I do believe I showed it in my video on the yeti case. Hope the unit works well for you regardless. Aloha!

      @@ilinauf Thanks for the reply.... perhaps I went too quickly through the video??? My apologies if that was the case. I think I was annoyed by my situation. The Yeti 150x had a separate adapter for the input and was surprised the 500x didn't have it. The manager at REI appears to be making good on the fact that the unit was used -- and as I found out the battery won't take a charge which is probably why it was returned in the first place. Peace.

    Just wondering, can there be simultaneous input / output?
    As in: Will the battery charge when I connect solar panels to it, while I'm using the 220V output?

    • @ilinauf
      @ilinauf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can. However, I've come across a problem with two of these now. After tripping the AC inverter, I am no longer able to use the 8mm input charging port. I've called Goal Zero and they stated that they are going to look into it. Until then, I no longer have the ability to charge by solar. 4/25/20

      If they work. I'm betting both 8mm ports can be used at same time with under 22volts. Normally tho you wanna stick to 18 or 15volts as that's what's on their charging bricks and their panels are at.
      Along with the PD 60watt plug can also be used for charging. so 2 inputs would be 1 rear for wall. and front for solar. and PD-60watt for extra via a power bank,etc.

    Can you power off this unit? Or can only turn display off?

    • @KillerRaptorr
      @KillerRaptorr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When nothing is plugged in. The display turns off. But when things are running or it's charging. The display is always active.

    • @ilinauf
      @ilinauf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I can best tell, the unit is always on. The back-light to the unit is the part that you turn off to reduce battery consumption. I have shined a light on the LCD of the unit and it was still displaying info just without the back-light. Of course, the power supplies can be turned on and off as well. USB/AC/DC.

    The MPPT is a function of the solar charger, not the input of this...

    Can it run a refride full size how long or a tv
    ,?

    • @ilinauf
      @ilinauf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it will run a full sized refrigerator due to the maximum running wattage around a possible 100 - 300 watts. I'll test my refrigerator here this week along with a TV and maybe a few other items like a PS4, modem, and router.

    • @KillerRaptorr

      www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/watt-volt-amp-calculator.html You need to do your own research on that fact. Asking that kind of question really doesn't answer anything. Everyone's power will be different. So a TV or fridge will not be same from others. Get your power info from your systems and calc the volts and amps. Then put it into that link above and it'll give you wattage.
      Also Fridges will have Pulse power. So if max wattage is say 900. That's when the compressor kicks in. Normally fridges without the compressor will be about 15% of the max power.

      I do agree here. Thanks for your input. I did do a follow up run of my older LCD TV and it ran without any issues and could run for 2 hours. The refrigerator, that was a different story. It runs on anything from 18 to 180 watts. However, when you plug it in initially, it kicks up to 1280 watts and surged my Yeti 500x. This helped me identify a major flaw in the Yeti. I can now no longer Solar Charge my unit. What a bummer.

      @@ilinauf (This helped me identify a major flaw in the Yeti. I can now no longer Solar Charge my unit.) What you mean?
      Your solar panels need to have a voltage of 14-18volts to charge goal zero devices. Standard 12volts won't do more then 25-50% before they tap out. Or you can get goal zero's 12volt charging port that will up the voltage correctly from standard 12-15volt systems.

      @@KillerRaptorr I created a follow up video to address it. But I'm using 4 Boulder 30 panels using all Goal Zero products. My Sherpa 100AC charges fine. Check out my other video to see what I'm doing.
