As someone who is looking to break into product management, this is a great introduction for me to learn more about the responsibilities of being a pm. I would love to see more content about solving pm cases and making a product portfolio to showcase when applying for a pm job 😊
I wish there are roadmaps that provides guidance for newbies to steer through the waves of becoming an actual product manager from start to finish. There are just too much tutorials all speaking differently. It is overwhelming... But your content just clears the airwaves a little to allow us breath
what a shame that I have been learning for becoming PM and just yesterday I found you! Thank you for amazing content!! Love your voice and how you explain things as well
Now that I've found you. I will never leave you 😂😂😂😂. This is really helpful and informative. I usually skip through videos but I was engaged until the very end. I am definitely following you on LinkedIn. I would like to see an actual career plan or path for someone who have a background in marketing that wants to transition to PM. Thanks
Thank you for your suggestion, Playkes! Are you thinking about describing in depth the product lifecycle? Or more like what is the role of the PM at different stages of the lifecycle?
Nice video. Could you suggest a few tutorial platforms to study product management for someone who's new into this. Could be a certification which hold high value in organization.
Thank you for the suggestion, Ablie! I’ll add this idea to my backlog of videos :) I’ll think of what’s the best way to make the comparison. Thanks again for leaving a comment!
Attended your Product Buds interview today. Super practical talk! And thanks for introducing the concept of a 'moonshot idea'. All the best with your TH-cam journey 😄 Excited to hear more from you!
@@PMDiegoGranados A question, if I may :) Highly intrigued by what made you sign up for your on-going CS course. I think I missed the bit where you may has spoken about this.
I didn't answer the question there, but I'm studying this M.C. in C.S. because I am specializing in AI & ML. While there are many courses who can also help with this, I want the title from Georgia Tech (Just a personal preference 😃 )
Thanks for the suggestion @Sayandeep! Are you referring to brainstorming sessions like the Mock Interviews I have? or what kind of brainstorming sessions?
It depends on the company and size offcourse, but what are the negative parts about being a PM, and how strongly do they affect you? Is it often a bit 9-5 job, or is it often impossible to tell the miss when you will be home? If the company is example walmart, and you manage tools and clothes. Will it be as much "design/making" as i hear in Tech. Or more getting to know each of the products well? Great channel and a great learning account :)
@@ErikISkogen Thanks for asking these questions! Let me know if this answers your questions: 1) The negative parts about being a PM depend on the person. For example, some PMs don't like the execution part that is more related to Project/Program manager roles. Others don't like the amount of bureaucracy in large organizations so they prefer to be a PM for a startup. PM is also a stressful job because besides all the things you have to (like I mentioned in the video) you also have to extinguish fires every now and then and things change CONSTANTLY. So if someone is uncomfortable with constant change, that could be a big negative. 2) 9-5 job? it depends... depends on the company, the culture, the product etc... startups, typically, have more inconsistent work hours than large tech companies. The best way to figure out whether a company works 9-5 or 9am to 9am the next day is by networking and talking with PMs in the company you are interested to learn about it. What I can say that will probably apply to most, if not all, the product teams is that when you are about to launch a product or a new big feature, it's likely that you'll have to work a few weekends. 3) Product Management CPG/Retail vs Tech - these are very, very different roles. The CPG/Retail PM is more focused on managing the products once they are ready and in the market. Looking at operations, marketing, etc (I'm not an expert on this category). PMs in tech are involved with the design of the product, working with eng, users, etc... (reference to the video). Let me know if this helps :)
@@PMDiegoGranados Wow, yeah:) That cleaned it up nice, and just learning that CPG/Retail and Tech is a big difference can make my search of information alot narrower. I thank you for your time and knowledge !
Hey Diego - excellent video! very helpful, can you also suggest any points of difference between a B2B and B2C - PM Roles , Can you also suggest how one can transition from B2B PM role to B2C PM role ?

Haz gameplays de Fall Guys jajaja. Me gustó, haz uno sobre los tipos de clientes y las mejores maneras de tratarlos
