  • Lake Tuggeranong has a history of water quality issues, with frequent lake closures due to high concentrations of blue green algae (cyanobacteria). The Healthy Waterways team in the Office of Water, ACT
Government, has invested millions of dollars and worked with CAWS and other partners to better understand the blue green algae problem in Lake Tuggeranong and come up with a plan to help address it. The Healthy Waterways Plan for Lake Tuggeranong is in its
final stages of development and is the culmination of all the research, modelling and monitoring conducted in the Lake Tuggeranong catchment through the Healthy Waterways initiative.
