Very impassioned review ! Looking at this for their versatility, and wider toe box compared to the Nike Air Zooms sounds like a great selling point. Thanks !
@@thatfitfriend was wondering would your tier-list for hybrid shoes changed? I finalized the F-Fly because I do take gym seriously, but I need a shoe that I also can run 3-4 miles in.
I've got mine thanks to this review, and whilst they're great for wide feet I have been getting a lot of heel pain in my right foot, which I've seen others have reported too. Seems to be alright when working out, but it's when I am walking I get this heel pain which subsequently rides up to my hamstring. I'll probably need to return them, which is a shame because they seem like great shoes!
Awe man, I’m so bummed to hear that. Question, have you been running in them and are you a heel striker? I’m starting to connect some dots with these for hybrid users and it’s seeming that the heel strike crowd is feeling this the most.
Solid review as usual! I am almost fully transitioned to 0 drop shoes but I might consider these for certain activities. Is there any arch in it? I definitely can't deal with that anymore. Also I can't wait for the full review of the Bare XF!
Great review, Jake, as ever. My pair are on order and should be with me next week. Bought off the back of some great advice from, er, you! Will let you know how I get on with them. Intending them as my potential Hyrox shoe for the November Hyrox in Paris. If they work out in training, I may well be in the market for a second pair for the event itself. I got black - white look cool, but I suspect they will look pretty manky pretty soon for me, as I do most of my training outdoors. Cheers, pal.
@@thatfitfriend Hi Jake. Wanted to let you know I have now tried these out for a few Hyrox training sessions, including sled pushes and pulls, and they seem like the perfect Hyrox shoe. No slipppage at all on the sled pushes and pulls, which was the issue for me with my Inov-8 Bare XF and Vivos. Also nice and light for the runs, and - like you - I love the Boomerang insert. So, just a note to thank you again for suggesting these, and for your reviews of the F-Fly (and your reviews generally). Really excellent content and advice, including on sizing (I actually sized down a half size from my Inov-8 Bare XF, and that works perfectly for me, but I reckon my usual size would have worked ok - the new Boomerang insert takes a little size out of the shoe, I find). Off the back of all this I am thinking of getting myself a second pair of the F-Fly, maybe in white this time, and hold them back for the event itself or indoor training prior, and continue to use my black pair outdoors. Anyhoo, thanks a ton, bud. Appreciate all the work you do for the community, and wanted to give you my detailed feedback. Cheers!
Hi Jake, what do you think about this shoe for travelling? Apart from being good in the gym, would these be comfortable for all day wear and walking 20-30k steps a day?
I've been trying to put them through the paces and so far they are great. I'm the last 3 weeks I've put miles in these and they are more comfortable than the Haze and Vimana! Not a lot of heavy stuff since I either strained my lower abdomen or I have a hernia (waiting on CT scan) but the stuff I have done in the gym with them they have been great
Which do you think is the best for the following use case: standing/walking mostly with some occasional jogs (4-5x/week, 1-3 miles/session) with some lifting (squats/deadlifts/compound moves). Someone with a wider foot and like Altras for their wide toe box and 0 heel to toe drop Debating between your reviews on: Adidas Rapidmoves Innov-8 F-Fly UA Reign 6
New sub- I’ve been binging your videos on shoe reviews. Trying to find a hybrid and this might be it! I’ve seen a TON of other shoe review channels, but always drawn back to yours. No shade thrown at anyone else, but I appreciate the information and format of your videos. Thank you for what you do and your excellence of the craft!
@@thatfitfriend hey!! Okay so I’m overstimulated in the shoe market now and need help! Thought I’d end up with the f-flys but second guessing everything. With that said, I currently have metcon 6s. I bought those years ago without doing research but they’ve served me well for the heavier lifts (but I don’t love them). Looking to replace them, but with a shoe that’s a little more versatile. After watching the drop set 2 v reign 6 video I think I’ve labeled my search down to them, but because I’m buying online I need your wisdom. You said true to size, but wanted to check- I wear a 12 in my metcon 6 and they fit fine. Would you recommend a 12 in the reign 6 or drop set 2? I don’t usually comment on videos so I apologize for dropping this one on the incorrect video! Really appreciate your insights and damn dude, your physique is awesome!
I do! I'll use my BP Savage 1 for workouts where I'm rope climbing and tugging heavy or doing heavier legs. These are perfect for hybrid and athletic days where you want more bounce and responsiveness!
Thanks to your reviews, i've narrowed it down to the nano x3 and these (leaning towards these) -- which do you think would work better with inserted superfeet insoles?
Just tried these out recently! There’s a lot I like, but at least for me in size 13 the shoes had too much upper volume and the toe box felt too big for me, which was sorta surprising as someone with somewhat wide, flat feet. I’m hoping the 12.5 will fit better, but at least in my size these seem maybe not the most true to size? For comparison I found the UA Reign 6 to have a perfect amount of upper volume, but I definitely have more spillover in the midfoot - not enough for me to not use them, but enough that I wanted to try the Inov8s
Ok… just watched this…. Torn between this and the Reign 6… I know they’re diff but these seem to be more of what I’m looking for…. I just really like the Reign 6 as well. Lol. Decisions! Decisions!
I'm looking for a very light shoe for workouts with double unders, box jumps etc. Would you recommend this shoe or the 235 V3 or a completely different model? Thanks:) @@thatfitfriend
I just got these in my size and I felt like my toe was going over the rubber in the front of the shoe. Is that normal for this brand? My nano 2's dont feel that snug.
I’m typically a size 11 across the board. However, some training shoes like under Armour Tribase and Reebok nanos 10.5 seem work the best due to a wider toe box. What size would you recommend?
@@thatfitfriend I certainly will. So far my favorite training shoe of all I’ve tried are the haze trainers. I’m looking for something that allows for running/lifting combo. Fingers crossed
How about normal foot, is it fit for normal foot? I am looking for new shoe replace my nano 8. But nano x4 seems narrow than usual, so i am watching your videos for some reference
I still have one more question. My nano 8 is women size 6.5 (23.5cm), but there is about 1.3cm space after heel, so I am wondering if i should size down to 6. If I choose inv8, should I still choose size 6.5 or 6?
Jake i need help what can you recommend as the best shoes for grip on the floor close to the ground 4mm heel drop mainly just for deadlifts and squats planted solidly on the ground i dont do running or crossfit so solely just for lifting heavy. i dont like barefoot shoes and squat shoes i prefer 4mm drop even if comfort wise not so good im okay with it. Thanks
Wanted to love these. Unfortunately the left heel cup just feels too narrow. Like I feel the edges of the insole on each step. Anyone else have the same experience? Any suggestions for a comparable alternative?

Wicked bouncy for "feeling" a little more minimalist compared to other running shoes
