- This video is a day late because this took FOR-E-VER to edit. Seriously, this took way longer than expected. ANYWAY, here it is, my first impressions of Got7, versus how I currently view them-- members, favorite ships, and the group as a whole.

When I first discovered Got7, I was through Jackson’s and Namjoon’s relationship. I started stanning Jackson off the bat and decided to listen to their music. Little did I know the future had made me stan this group and made it my ult group, as well as Jinyoung as my #1 ultimate bias holy cow. Thank you for reliving my memories again hahaha
I honestly had the same feelings for Jinyoung before, I never really noticed him. I had alot of first impressions. Jackson was my boy then yugyeom came straight of left field and ruined my life! But recently youngjae has really changed my opinion of him. I remember that I was a Jackson stan, then an hour later I saw Jaebum and was like "he's mine!", and then I watched their 'I like you' dance practice and changed my bias when Youngjae hit his high note live. but then during 'fly' era yugyeom's shoulder dance and dance skills in general made me stan him as my ub. great times lol
anyway, at first glance, only jackson, jb, and bambam stood out to me. But as I watched more videos (not to mention that some of the more shy members started to open up more), got7's wildcards were youngjae, jinyoung, and yugyeom. especially yugyeom and youngjae who had different aspects of their personality that I didn't notice before.
tldr; They are and were amazing and I'm way too deep into them.

I used to stan them since 2012 (their JJPROJECT days) and I was somehow saddened at the time that GOT7 debuted and there aren't a lot of people who stans the ship.
The friendship between Jinyoung and Jaebum is seriously one of the most precious things I have ever seen.
I may be just judging based from the video clips, interviews and whatevers shown in the media but the bond and depth of their friendship is undeniably #goals !!! ♡

I was also very disappointed in Yugyeom liking so much Chris Brown especially because he idolised him so much. But recently I saw somewhere him saying he somehow changed, matured and in that way Brown isn't *that* artist he likes so much :)

IGot7 Inspirits he mentioned on his last vlive. The one where he cooked that he hasnt listened to chris brown in a long time but said one of his recent or not so recent albums was ok. Idk how long he hasn't been that into him. I think he one reason he danced to him as often as he did was because of hit the stage. He imitated chris browns take me down dance. And thats song for that part was the only song played when they wanted him to dance lol even at got7 events.

Lmao, My first impression of Jackson was similar (extra, annoying and loud) I first saw him on Idol Battle Likes when Eunwoo was hosting (I was really into Astro at the time) and when Jackson came on stage he was so f#*xing extra. I was like what is wrong with this guy. Flash forward many moons later and I watched Roommates and I fell in love with Jackson. Like, I would literally fight the world for Roommates' Jackson. And he is the reason I got into Got7😃

I felt the same too in most of this video! But I got like three different stage of impression because I watch them as whole for the first time in MAMA2015, then I began to stan them with watching their variety shows, mv, etc and the last stage after stanning them for few years. (Warning : This might be long. It's okay if no one cares I still going to tell anyway)
First impression (MAMA2015): That time I just recognize JJP because I watched Dream High 2. I saw Jackson as a foreign guy that look charismatic and have no idea how loud he is actually. I saw Youngjae as arrogant guy and Yugyeom as smallest member (idk how I can see him as 'small' when he actually the tallest!). I don't really see the difference between Mark and Bambam as they looked quite the same (well, chopstick leg is the reason).
Second impression : Began to see their different character like what most of people know them. JB as chic and sexy leader yet known as memebum. Jinyoung's savageness has no end. Jackson really loud, hyper, dork and organic-lover. Mark the most silent member but surprisingly as mad as others when hyper. Youngjae laughed 24/7 like there's no tomorrow but suitable with his loud voice as main vocal of the group. Bambam and the latest trend cannot be separated and those trend can be last really long. Yugyeom such a cutie maknae compare to his size (?) but he's the best when dancing.

Third impression: Began to see their true self and their matured side as an artist. I see how they really struggle to be the boy group from big 3 company and want to exceed the expectation of people out there, how they want to show people that they able to make their fans proud of them, how they worked hard in their own solo activity yet still holding hard to their beloved group and how their dream want to be the best group in kpop. I see how their friendship getting stronger each day that made them as family even lot of people (read:haters) doubting their friendship.
My current ship that in my opinion really meaningful in their own way:
1. JJP - I think they don't realize how strong their bond at first because they kinda awkward in JJP (Jackson once said before "they looked close to each other, right? But in fact not") but slowly they realize how well they can understand each other among other Got7 members and their creepy sync action explained their 9 years friendship.
2. Wang Gae Park Gae - Really supportive towards each other and I can see how Jackson really treasure Jinyoung the most
3. Yugbam - Same-aged friends that really love to fool around a lot and can read each other's mind just by eyes but at the same time really love each other so much.

Khun Noy I would have to say when jinyoung acts like he doesn't care about being close to Jackson jackson well put attention to someone else and jinyoung gets jealous I'm not saying they really do like each other that way but jinyoung starts too blush or laughs if jackson smiles at him and they do grab each other time to time hold hands a lot and it always looks like they flirt but when the members are talking to each other and not putting attention to them so I don't know about jackson or jinyoung I just wonder but

Melody Lovely 7 Kpop I use the term ship pretty loosely in the video-- I just love their friendship-- but I think the closeness is just a combination of the two of them being very close friends and also being the two members who enjoy skinship the most in the group. Jackson one time talked about how his friendship with Jinyoung is closer than people think, and the two of them are often quick to hug their other members. To me, they're just two very close friends who are really comfortable with skinship.

OK, some of y'all are getting really upset about the Chris Brown comment and I've said the same thing many, many, *many* times in the comments, so I'm putting this statement here in this comment and will not be replying to comments about it anymore, because I'm really tired of repeating myself and y'all are really getting way too salty over a brief, reasonably & calmly worded opinion that took up less than 5 seconds of a 20 minute video. 🤷
1- This entire video is simply my opinion. The statement about Chris Brown is just my opinion and personal POV. I don't *hate* or *dislike* people who look up to Chris Brown. I'm simply disappointed in the opinion. It's a large difference. Just like the difference between recognizing that someone is talented and idolizing/stanning them.
2- It's entirely possible that Gyeom has no idea about Chris's personal life. Gyeom lives on the other side of the world and it's possible that info about Chris's personal life just isn't common knowledge in SK. It's also important to note that Gyeom doesn't speak English and the majority of articles about Chris are in English or other languages that Gyeom doesn't speak. It's not about him being dumb, because he's not-- it's just about how accessible the information is to him where he is in the world.
3- The issue of separating the art from the artist. I know some people don't think that this is a big issue, but there's been a ton of scholarly debate on it, and I personally don't think I could support (let alone idolize) a performer who had done the things that Chris Brown has done, regardless of how good their music was. Whether you like it or not, buying an artist's music and hyping them up/bringing more people to them supports them monetarily and supports them as a person. That's something that personally makes me uncomfortable.

I've also had some people commenting that many people "don't know the full story." Listen, sis: There is no excuse for garbage behavior. NONE. Blaming others, your past, substances, etc is *an excuse* used to justify someone's own inability to be a decent human (not saying this is not specific to him, but generalized to anyone). I never said he didn't apologize. HE HAS. BUT, if someone apologizes but STILL continues over and over to exhibit behavior that's unacceptable, they deserve to be criticized for it. It's not just the Rihanna incident, which everyone seems to be dwelling on. In the near decade since that event, he's continued to make mistakes. If/When he stops doing garbage things and apologizes for the past and makes a *legitimate* change, I'll stop criticizing him. But until then, his behavior cannot be ignored and swept under the rug. I've never said he doesn't deserve a second chance, because he does-- when he makes that change. (also he was most recently arrested at the beginning of July 2018 for assault so don't try to come at me saying he's changed because lol no).
Furthermore, *even if* you're arguing that NOW (or also in the future after I've said this, as I'm not planning on continually keeping up with Chris's misdeeds just for the up-to-date-ness of this comment), since having a child, Chris has turned his life around, also remember that a lot of Gyeom's comments about loving Chris Brown were made a few years ago, when Chris was absolutely, *definitely* still doing objectionable things. Again, this has nothing to do with Chris moving forward into the future, but I just wanted to point out that even if you believe Chris has changed now, Yugyeom was still idolizing him at a point in his life when he was doing things that don't deserve to be idolized.
Also, to the people saying "we all make mistakes, including OP," yes but most people's mistakes don't include the long list of illegal things that Chris has done-- I cringe every time someone tries to use this logic, because it's so dumb and flawed, because IDK about you, but I've never done something I could get arrested for.

I am 110% on board with you. I was waiting for someone to bring up how much Chris Brown is mentioned as an inspiration for a lot of young men in the Kpop industry: I always twitch. Of course we don't know that they know what he's done, but it's still hard for me. Chris Brown is a monster in my eyes, and I can't even see a picture of him without recoiling in disgust. IGot7 Inspirits, Yugeom still likes and idolize Chris Brown, he said so in an interview when they were in New York for their concert. I don't defend nor condone anyone putting their hands on anyone but, there were extenuating circumstances to that incident. It was just a sad situation all around... The world was beating him up about an incident that he took all and full blame for. Chris Brown became a target, people would not let him move on with his life... I take it, you did not see the documentary... People still try to set him up and provoke him for a lawsuits, especially women. He was just targeted for such a thing and was proven to be not guilty of her claims, the woman was lying through her teeth. As for the July arrest, that was from an old incident/old warrant... Chris Brown has become a changed man especially now that he has a daughter....I'm not a Chris Brown fan, I just know that there was so much more to the story and it's finally been exposed.
