C.O.P.S. was my favorite line growing up.
My aunt was a sergeant for DC Metro when I was young, and my role model. I was always that kid in class that wanted to be a police officer, and that turned into a love and respect for all emergency services.
Police, fire, and EMS themed characters were always my favorite toys. Prowl, Red Alert, and the Protectobots from Transformers for example. Law from GI Joe holds a special place in my heart, as I went on to be military police before going on to civilian LE.
🤝
They Really should've made a Mainframe figure. I mean, She was in almost Every Episode and played a key roll in many. She Was the Leading Lady of C.O.P.S..
Such a crime She never had a figure of her own
Hey fellow Kitchenerite. I was all in on cops in the 80’s. Same feelings as you. My love for Joes was waning and this line just popped off the shelf. Buttons Mcboomboom might be in my top 10 figures of all time. I got all of mine at the Dutch Boy on Highland road. I was in there last night picking up a few groceries and just wished it was the 80’s again. Best hidden secret toy department we had. IMO.
Dutch Boy had a great Toy aisle back then
My favourite Dutch Boy was the one on Margaret Ave. I think it's a Giant Tiger now. It had a basement level and the toy and video game section took up the whole basement. It was the ultimate man cave before man caves were a thing. 😊
I’m right there with you. Do you remember a specific smell to the plastic of this toy lineup. Not the blast caps, the actual plastic having its own distinct smell. Maybe it was air freshener used in the stores but I only remember COPS having that smell nostalgia to it. My cousin’s Strawberry Shortcake dolls don’t add up to the smell either. Nostalgia has a strange effect no doubt.
Hi Micheal, Great video about 1988:COPS n' Crooks Federal Agent Bullet-Proof, keep them coming, Also your latest video was outstanding, Also, excellent comparison between Bulletproof Vess from The 1988 Cops n' Crooks Action Figure line and General Hawk from The G.I. Joe Classified Action Figure line, Also, Bulletproof Vess is not only one of my favorite C.O.P.S. characters, but also Bulletproof Vess is one of my best and favorite C.O.P.S. of all time, I never realized how detailed the cops line was pretty impressive for the late 80's action figure, Also C.O.P.S.(Central Organization of Police Specialists) is one of my best and favorite animated cartoon TV shows of all time currently airing on Tubi / the Tubi app, Also, I remember this Character back when this cartoon aired originally, and he still has that Superman hairstyle too👍👍💯 Also Shout out to the legendary Comic Book Artist, penciler, and illustrator Bart Sears for the amazing card artwork that he did for all of the C.O.P.S. Action Figures. Also I planned to Pre order C.O.P.S. Season 1 Part two Dvd from both Cookie Jar and Amazon later this year, The card artwork reminds me of the Punisher 2099 Comics. Also The 1988 Cops n' Crooks Federal Agent Bullet-Proof Vess Action Figure was incredible, Also thank you for sharing Micheal keep up the good work stay safe out there in Canada have a good day Nerdmaste and It's Crimefighting Time.🙂🟢🦸👍🏋️🇺🇸🇨🇦💪 11:46 am.
Loved Cops. Hasbro needs to bring those back as well as Visionaries.
Shout out to Bart Sears for the amazing card artwork that he did for all of the C.O.P.S. Action Figures.
I still have 6 figures still on card. I got them as Child World was closing
Dude, I remember child’s world they just don’t make stores like that anymore.
Oh man, I loved COPS but for some reason it didn't last long in my market. The show was only on for a few weeks back home and I was surprised to find out many years later they did a full season run (which I now own on DVD). I also only had a figure for Big Boss, I ended up using him as a Kingpin stand in pretty often with a Spidey. I remember wanting a few of the figures, especially Bulletproof, but I don't recall seeing them much at Wal-Mart and Toys r Us was a bit of a special occasion trip.
Berserker! Great character! Got him for my hobbie. I’m afraid to put a gun in his hand. Great show too!
Michael, your adult hands are turning my memory of scale to mush😂 This lineup was ahead of its time as far as what it offered.
Good stuff Michael.
Thank you.
I never realized how detailed the cops line was pretty impressive for the late 80s action figure.
As someone who loved the show and wanted the figures but never got them (even as an adult) I'm very eager to see your presentation for the crooks of the line. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite was buttons mcboom boom. Still have his complete toy.
Try finding a old beat up trenchcoat and find some fabric and try to recreate a longer one
The card artwork reminds me of the Punisher 2099 comics.
Awesome.
I loved these! What a great time to grow up
They should bring that cartoon back❤❤
A company called Fresh Monkey Fiction made an announcement. They're starting a new Cops n Crooks line. Starting with none other than this guy, Bulletproof! It's the only one announced so far.
This video also showing Visionaries!? I hope this puts a spell into the world and we get 1/12 scale Visionaries, too! I've been wanting that for a while now, too.
Neat.
I loved this line, this was my favorite toys growing up i aways remembered how big they were on my small hands 😂❤🔥 they making modern version of bulletproof so pumped! ❤
Heck yea! Had him, Long Arm, Sgt Mace and Buttons McBoomBoom. Always loved the cap shot feature.
I would have loved to have seen a live-action version of this show. It's a shame it didn't last long enough. Nevertheless, it's a great-looking action figure and I love your commentary about it. Looking at it, I can't help but think of Cyborg from the DC universe.
As soon as I see Bulletproof……..’Fighting crime…..in a future time.’
I can’t wait to see that 3” scale series come out for these.
Very easy line to collect. Such cool figures and proportions are stellar
I wanted to get more but stuck with only having Bulletproof. After seeing more of the cartoon the villains were possibly the dumbest villains in any cartoon at the time, so the cut off came naturally.
I had this toy. Action figures were so well done. I had BP and the guy with the robot k9.
Great video! My main toylines when I was a kid were real ghostbusters , tmnt and then COPS! Loved the toys and cartoon ! Still have all mine too and now collecting what I dont have.
At about 4 and 5 years old gi joe and cops were my top 2 franchises 1st 2 of many this video reminded me of why I loved this scale
Interesting. When I watched the show I always wondered if he was a cyborg.
If they had made a film about this series I would definitely have Lawrence Fishburne play Bulletproof because it fits him as a role in either live action or animated where he voices him
Loved COPS & Toxic Crusaders!
I have this one and Turbo Two Tone. Bullet Proof’s o ring broke years ago. I cannot get the screw to loosen so i can replace it. So he is in a tote with some other figures that need repairs.
I lost All his stuff , but I still have a Longarm.
Look at that Gun!!! lol
One of the greats. The exposed cybernetics, overall sculpt and soft-goods on Bullet-Proof, always made him a fave. Ace review.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
I’m not sure about the scale, would the Big Jim secret agent’s coat fit ?
Probably too big. Big Jim figures are 10" and COPS are 6".
U should do a bionic six video
I don't have any though.
I started watching the cartoon when it came out on DVD a few years back and really liked it. Glad to see the figures look so cool as well!
Nice video Do you know how these compare in size to the 5.5" "kid focused" Marvel and Snake Eyes Origins lines? From the difference between Bulletproof and the Classified Joe, I'm thinking these would fit in with those.
