This video is a masterpiece of cinematography and storytelling. The action is so tight, and the characters so chaotic, that everything might seem nonsensical at first. This was how I initially felt, too, but I have decided to take my time to understand the events that unfolded, and the thought process of every character. This short film is so deep, that you really need to sit down and think about it, in order to appreciate this hidden gem. The story begins with Heavy cleaning up a pile of boxes that fell down. He stares in awe, as the Demoman in a broken wooden box tells him that another box is in his (Heavy's) momma, then thanks him, and starts repairing his broken home. Satisfied with how much he helped the Demoman, Heavy uses his telekinetic powers to get Spy out of the dartboard, in which he was stuck. This makes Spy stuck in another wooden box, which shocked him so much, the only word he could utter at that very moment was "Snow". Heavy uses his telekinetic powers once again to jump up into the air and fly backwards. He gets the feeling that this situation is too much for him to handle and calls Spy "Manny". It is unclear whether that's Spy's real name. The protagonist of this tale gets a flashback of the Soldier telling him "Scout, money of mom right zhe ray", which is an important statement that we will come back to later. Heavy is shocked by that information, and pogs at "Manny". Then he doubles down on his decision to leave the Spy alone, grinning to himself. Perhaps this outcome was influenced by the flashback he just experienced. Spy, feeling helpless, starts eating boxes, which turned out not very effective in his predicament. Out of disappointment, he utters "This oh-booh eros!". However, at the exact same moment, another dancing Heavy emerges from under his box, which sends so-called "Manny" flying, as he yells "Incomen-Manny". The camera zooms in on the Soldier, that appeared in Heavy's flashback just moments ago. He starts mumbling unintelligible words, however some of them sound similar to "purpose", "AIDS", "girls". It is unclear what influenced his train of thought at that moment. He then leaps into the air, landing in the middle of a family of wild Sentries. Soldier was found holding a wildlife magazine and a baby Sentry in each of his hands. He was happy to see an Engineer next to him, admiring the beauty of his catch. Soldier greets him with "Ayo!", but unfortunately his new friend is not bilingual, as he starts speaking to him in Russian. He opens up a page of the magazine, which says not to pick up the little Sentries. This is confirmed with the visible signs of struggle shown by the small sentry, as well as loud noises, as if it was screaming for help. Unfortunately, the adult Sentries were scared away by the Soldier, leaving their offspring alone. Soldier, not happy with what he has done, takes a quick sorry glance at the little Sentry, and puts it back down, letting it go. The curious little creature does not run away, however, and lets the Soldier take a picture of it. It makes him very happy. The camera zooms in on the still dancing Heavy. After learning how kind the small Sentry was, Soldier decides to protect the wildlife in Teufort, and makes the quick decision to free the wild Control Point that he earlier caught in his bug net, backing off slowly as not to scare it away, and to show it that he meant no harm. Proud of himself, he exclaims "Say!", and we catch a glimpse of the wild Point in its natural habitat, which unfortunately doesn't say anything. The dancing heavy, who hasn't learned about the beauty of nature, stops dancing, calls out Soldier and starts speaking to him in broken German. We can see that this hurt Soldier's feelings, as he sighs and lies down on the grass. The Heavy that isn't dancing anymore continues on with his monologue, as the Engineer that we saw before throws a Red-Tape Recorder on a pile of metal in a corner, which reverses the damage done to the Dispenser and effectively repairs it. The Dispenser, wearing a Spy face mask, thanks him in its own language. Engineer points at it and says that he has soup, hinting that he wants to feed it. The now not-dancing Heavy shares his opinion with the Engineer, however we don't know if he approves his decision or not, because he communicates using a mix of broken German, drunk Russian and an unusual Hungarian dialect. He then throws him a quick "Bye!" and thanks him for what we can assume is called "Fniah". He immediately drops on the floor and starts climbing his friend, then performs a backwards drive in the air, defying all the laws of physics and common sense. Soldier, still lying down on the grass, points at the direction the Heavy flied off to, and says "Nie ma mnie!", which is Polish for "I am not here". He confirms these words by immediately geting up off the ground and running away while screaming. The Engineer got scared by that sudden display of fear, that he also let out a quick "AH!". He finds it funny that he got so easily spooked by something like that, that he says "I've seen a MeeM!", and starts laughing uncontrollably. In that vision, we see a Medic, thinking to himself "Nyaaa! Look at that! Ho!", as he is looking at the Heavy in front of him. Judging by his thoughts and the look he gives that Heavy, we can tell he is amazed. Heavy, however, misunderstood that as the Medic making fun of him, calling him a "hoe". He gets angry, insults him in Russian, turns away from him and turns into a Scout. The Medic feels remorse about what he caused, says "What?" and launches himself through the roof into the orbit of our planet Earth. The still angry Scout, who was previously Heavy, is still angry at the Medic, and yells "Yeah!" after he left. The Soldier that just ran away in fear in the previous scene, enters the building, still screaming and running away. He trips and falls, but now he feels safe with the Scout next to him, although still traumatized. His false sense of security gets quickly ruined, as a lone wooden box materializes into existence right next to him. The box says "illpo", the meaning of which is up to anyone's guess. It strikes Soldier in the moment of vulnerability, grabs him and launches itself into Scout, who stops it at the last moment with his left foot. Although his attempt to stop the aggressive box was successful, he is in a lot of pain. Now it's time for one of the greatest and most emotional movie endings of all time. Soldier lands safely on top of the box. He suddenly realizes something - the wild box wasn't trying to attack him, it was trying to protect him! It saw the Soldier as a friend and the Scout as a threat. Soldier looks at the box, and he notices a head poking through the wood, right under his foot. It was the Box Spy from the beginning of the movie! Scout is absolutely shocked at this realization. As we already know, the Scout was, in fact, the Heavy. The same Heavy that we saw in the beginning of the movie, that tried to help Spy, but then decided to leave him for dead. "Manny" wanted to take his revenge on the Heavy (now Scout), and he almost succeeded. He then said "Śmierdzi" ("It stinks" in Polish), implying that Scout has incredibly smelly feet, and hides his head back inside the box. Scout quickly recovers from the shock, and finds the situation amusing. The camera cuts to Soldier's face. He's doing an evil grin, and exclaims "Scout, money of mom right zhe ray". The exact same sentence, word for word, as the one in the flashback in the beginning! This means that this course of events was bound to happen, as if it was dictated by fate itself. This is foreshadowing done right, and the execution is up there among some of the best in the movie industry. Scout makes a funny face, but deep down he's completely shocked and traumatized. The events that just unfolded in front of him have turned him insane. He runs away screaming "WOOOHOOHOOOO!". The box rumbles, and we can see the camera zooming in on Soldier's face. He's visibly grinning and chuckling to himself. He knows that all of this was a direct result of Scout (formerly Heavy)'s selfishness. The moral of the story is to be friendly and to respect nature. If we exploit others, and nature, for our own gain or enjoyment, the karma will come back, and we will suffer the consequences of our actions. What an amazing short movie, with a beautiful ending and perfect execution. It really makes you think. The world needs more people like that Soldier.
