    Got back home from the Canning Stock Route yesterday. From 10 cars there were two cars without issues from well 1 to well 51, and one of them was a Nissan Patrol. The driver did every dune by first attempt and the vehicle overall performed impressively. So if you want to get yourself a V8, now is the time.

    Hey Brett
    Thanks so much for taking the time out to write up your history. I clicked "reply" but for some reason, wasnt able to get into the comment.
    You definitely can do more with what you have but your consistency is what keeps me coming back. I always know you have the 0-100, the camera angles used and i see youre doing more driving with vehicles now.
    all the best with whatver creative path you choose and i look forward to seeing what you have in store.

    Perfect Chelsea tractor. Bragging rights for the Mum who has everything. Taking Charlotte to school. For bush bashing I'd get an old GQ or GU. Less electrics to die in the first creek crossing. And less expensive to worry about scratching. Easier to work on. And won't throw a tantrum, like Charlotte, if you abuse it.

      @@DarrenBoxhall Anything built after about 2000 fits that criteria. If you look at the competition vehicles into serious off-roading. You don't see anything modern. Too heavy. Too complicated. And too delicate. Then that pretty much sums up the human population of today as well.

    • @DarrenBoxhall

      I have had 2 MQ patrols, a GQ SWB and a TB48 GU on 37s, 6" lift and twin locked.
      Stock for stock, the y62 shits on them all. It is one of the most capable 4x4s you can get.
      Its one main limitation.....its expensive
      Next is its wide
      Then the final issue, not easily lifted high enough to do hardcore 4x4ing...which you know when you buy it.
      Sand, dunes, mud, somewhat rocky and rutted shit, it loves.
      Also, independent all round, you dont diff out, my y62 with 2" lift and 35" tyres has far more clearance under it than my gu with 37s, because the solid axles still get hung up. And before you say "choose a better line if you get hung up on diffs" sometimes you cant choose a different line.
      Do people use y62s as shopping trolleys, yes.
      I also know heqps of people that use gq's and gu's athe same way and never seen dirt.
      What i will say, is this warrior not only looks shithouse...... But its an embarrassment to cost so much and only be based on a ti. What the fuck were they thinking

    • @drivingenthusiastaustralia
      @drivingenthusiastaustralia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Really? I’ve complained about EV-related issues about 3 times on the entire channel. And mostly about actual issues.
      In your view, EVs are immune from any fault or negativity? They are 100% perfect?
      I’ve tested over 1000 cars over a period of about 12 years, and I can honestly say that pretty much every single car has some area that could be improved.

    • @jaredscott4829
      @jaredscott4829 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@drivingenthusiastaustralia Did I say they were perfect? Stop projecting. Aside from some million dollar Roller, there is likely no perfect car. The point being that your latest videos are layered with climate and green bullshit (the vast majority of videos in the past were before you added this new right wing layer) and I thought it was nice that you didn't feel the need to thrown in some more rubbish in this video. Btw, you said you were a mechanic in an old video and it a claim you continue to make in your bio. Hope that wasn't a lie in some strange attempt to garner an authority in your comments.

    • @drivingenthusiastaustralia
      @drivingenthusiastaustralia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@jaredscott4829 I'm guessing you're trying to label me as some kind of aggressive EV basher (especially regarding the right wing comment), because I checked, and out of 238 videos on this channel, only 3 contain anything like 'green bullshit' criticisms against EVs.
      I'm simply trying to do my job. And from what I've seen, and heard from actual engineers who work for the car brands (I won't mention names), EVs are not all that eco-friendly. And I mean that phrase specifically; eco friendly. They require a lot of resources to build and many of the major parts are shipped across to various plants around the world before they end up in cars, generating tonnes of pollution in the process (which, yes, does happen with ICE cars too, but not to the same extent). They are not cheap to repair if they do break, requiring yet more resources to fix (i.e. new batteries, often a complete battery pack not just singular parts, like a head gasket or piston rings), and the majority of electric power in Australia still comes from coal power, which is what supplies most public EV chargers. Home chargers are generally used at night, when there is no sun for solar power, which means yet more coal power. That's without mentioned things like the huge weight of EVs, which really churns out tyres and impacts road/tarmac maintenance.
      I'm not totally against EVs. I just think... sorry, I know they are not as specifically 'eco-friendly' as they are made out to be. And that's what I meant in the IONIQ 5 N video (which is where your concerns started). They are great in the city to reduce localised pollution in my opinion, and there is definitely potential there. But, right now, they do not grow on trees. Even if they did, they'd still require cultivating which would consume resources as well, probably with big diesel machinery.
      In the end, I'm entitled to an opinion mate, and it's a professional opinion forged from years in the industry, including 5 years as a mechanic (whether you believe that or not is totally up to you).
      My close friends still work in the vehicle repair and mechanic industry, and they see a lot of problems now with EVs as well. Did you know EVs cannot be resprayed in a traditional heated spray booth? Because this could damage the batteries. So they need to undergo a more extensive process that, you guessed it, ends up using more resources. This, along with first-hand conversations I have had with engineers, have created the opinions that I possess. And I haven't begun with the potential fire hazards and (more extensive) ways in which fire fighters need to deal with EV fires compared with ICE fires.
      I do not, at all, think ICE is the way of the future. But I believe there is more work to be done with EVs. It's not simply a matter of rolling out thousands of EVs to fix the environmental issues surrounding cars.
      Apologies for the lengthy response, I just wanted to make it clear that I am not criticising things for no reason or to jump onto some kind of political agenda. I hope you can understand this.

      @@drivingenthusiastaustralia Your guess is wrong. I was going to write a reasoned reply, but I got to the bit about BEV's apparently not being able to use a drying booth and just gave up with this nonsense. You've clearly surrounded yourself by fools opinions. Cars don't sit in baking ovens long enough to actually get a packs thermals to the ambient target. And when you say more extensive process, you mean drying without an oven, which just takes longer, it doesn't add extra stages. Your language is constantly disingenuous. My concerns didn't start at that video either, it the start of calling the BS and letting you know its starting to become a turn off for what was a pretty great channel.
