I watched the first 3 minutes and the last 3 minutes just to defy this comment. It is not a complicated storyline at all. The narrator explains everything. There wasn't one scene where it was kept for the audiences to understand it. Everything is wide shots showing each motion and each task. Watch Richard Kelly's Donnie Darko or The silence of the lambs. Those are true masterpieces in the qualities you listed above. This short is okay definitely not 5 stars.
ey i have write down the plot let me show u: so heres plot for people who skip parts and dont get the plot: so when the pandemic started there was a couple:the boy and eva so as their life goes on they dated by calling each other. one day the boy called eva and said that when it is all over he would go to her house and bring her on a date. but he was a little suspicious before as eva instagram page had a boy named bryan always on her posts but ignored it. so when the day came for him to take eva on a date, she said that she could not go and that she was playing with bryan. the next day he called eva to ask her why she did not come for the date and instead play with bryan thinking that she is cheating on him with bryan. so when eva said she did not want to talk to him about what happened (she hanged up) and when the boy recall her post he thinks that she is cheating and decided to go to her house where she streams and tried to talk to her but she did not know who he was so she kept trying to get him out. when the boy failed to talk to her, he pushed her onto the bed and gripped her neck thus strangling her during that time viewers went into his memories and found out that he did some editing to her stream making it so that he can hear what he wants to hear when "calling her" so when she refused to talk to him as she did not knew him the boy killed her. looking at the camara he knew the stream was still on and ended it. so concluding the story, it basically means that the boy was crazy and imagine eva calling him and that they are a couple.

I was confused because at first I thought the film is gonna be sad and emotional (because you guys always do emotional short film) but then it suddenly becomes dark at the end. Totally unexpected and mind-blowing! Great storyline & the cinematography is amazing too!

Haha I clearly can see the picture he was photoshopped in, but I thought thats just one of a method for the video to make it believable that they were in a relationship, until it was shown that its actually the plotline. Man that was brilliant!

Syafrezal Izzdham yea so he wasnt talking to her directly. During her streams he would take some clips and that was how the phone call scene was made. So thats why she didnt know who he was cos he never talked to her in person

Especially because I'm familiar with the streaming world, and can understand how this could happen. Still though, holyy. Production quality 10/10 sia. only issue that made me cringe was when 6:45 Eva picked up the phone and the always on display turned on as if she wasnt on a call, that scene couldve used a retake. other than that man, this channel grew so much over the years.
