🇦🇺😎👍When it comes to handguns in Australia the most common calibres are 9 mm , 44 mag , 45acp , 357 mag , 38 special , 22lr , 22 mag and not much else. All odd ball calibres cost 3 times more to run. Every now and then you’ll see a 454 cas but not very often. Down here we have to shoot competitions just so we can keep our handguns so the cost has to be fair. The cheapest 9 mm is about 70 cents per shot. 22 lr is about $600/5000rds , 357/38 is about 90 cents per round and up ⬆ ⬆ we go….great video🇺🇸🏁

So we were told that you guys all gave up your guns willingly ? Am I hearing this isn't true from someone with there feet on the ground there ! And does this mean if you don't shoot in competitive events you can't own it or what ?

Perhaps this caliber is a 'flash in the pan' now, but I would bet these will be collector's items in a couple decades. Might buy as much ammo as you can before it gets more scarce and costly.

I think people have an either or mentality. If you like a single stack, a 30SC is nice. Some people like 357 Mag, some like 357 Sig, some like 45 acp, etc, etc. Gun guys are so weird about calibers.

380 is a great caliber. Really is. The 30 super carry is a marketing scheme to make people spend money on a useless item. The 30 super carry is going nowhere. It will belong in museums soon. Not worth it !

@@AbeDehili I won't disagree! But I won't say it's useless. It was a good idea, just not made or executed properly.

Can they be used with a 9mm barrel or do you have to get a barrel specifically for that caliber?

      Completely different calibers

Going from 9mm to 30sc would only require a 30sc barrel and the 9mm magazine feed lips to be about 2mm narrower, since the 30sc round is smaller in diameter than 9mm. Everything else is the same. On my 30sc and 9mm Shield Pluses, the lowers/frames are identical in both. I can swap complete slides easily. The thing you can't do is put the 9mm barrel into the 30sc slide, but you can put the 30sc barrel into the 9mm slide. Something on the 9mm feed ramp sizing is different which doesn't allow it to lock into the 30sc slide.
I can actually bend my 9mm 15rd Plus magazines feed lips inward a mm o3 2 and get 19rounds of 30sc into that 15rd magazine. I'm surprised more companies don't just offer 30sc conversion barrels for existing 9mm guns, since its so easy of a change to switch them to 30sc

380 is a fine caliber..and so is 9 mm...so why even bother with the 30 super carry? Makes no sense at all. Zero sense !

If you don't like it, that's okay... it's the same as 22 mag, it's not needed when you have 22lr and 17 hmr...

30 super carry was marketed wrong from the get go. It's not a bridge between 380 and 9mm. The 30sc HST round has 21 ft/lbs MORE ENERGY than the 147gr 9mm HST. The factory ammo for it is actually loaded pretty tame, just like factory ammo for 10mm and 357sig. Ballistics testing has the 30sc HST doing the exact same in gel as 9mm, 40, 45, and 357sig. The ammo is easily located online and HST 30sc is actually less expensive than HST ammo in 380, 40, 357sig and 45.
The whole point of 30sc is exactly the point of 9mm vs 40 and 45 when they were debated in the early 90's. When the 9mm ammo was doing the same in FBI ballistics testing as 40 and 45, there was no reason to not use 9mm. With a 9mm, you had 2 more rounds in a Glock 19 than the Glock 23 40cal, and they were the exact same size guns. More capacity with the basic same ballistics meant capacity won. Nobody was debating it in the 90's because social media and the internet wasn't a thing yet. If we had YT and other social media back then, 9mm would have been crushed and ridiculed online for being smaller, weaker, and less powerful than 40 and 45, and they would have said "you don't need an extra 2 wimpy rounds when you have the manly 45acp". You're actually playing into the same uninformed crap as the rest of the online community regarding 30sc misinformation. It's actually pathetic how dumb we are as a gun community when we shit talk new calibers and technology. It's why we are losing and will continue to lose our gun rights the more we go into the future. Old school is disappearing and the new young generations don't care at all about gun rights.
30sc has the same advantages over 9mm that 9mm had over 40 and 45. It has the same ballistics as 9mm but has a minimum +3 capacity advantage, while also having less recoil. I have both 9mm and 30sc Shield Pluses. The 30sc Plus has 4 more rounds of capacity over the same size 9mm gun, since the 13 and 16rd 30sc magazines actually hold 14 and 17 rounds. The larger the 9mm magazine, the larger capacity advantage you'd get with 30sc. My 17rd Sig 365 Macro magazines would be 21-22rds in 30sc at least.
