Yea, technically they took longer in raw time overall for the raid, but Echo got to copy their strats for most bosses, and Liquid ran into a bugged instance delaying them an hour + invisible motes on final boss. Typical echo salt.

It's like a marathon runner getting a 30 minute head start and then finishing 1 minute before second place. The whole pull count thing is delusional logic too. There have literally been past races where a guild has had WAY more pulls and STILL come first. Even when they get to the boss at the same time. Some strats involve more pausing between pulls, others don't. ALSO, since Echo was behind, and they saw the boss was gonna flop, they HAD to pull more quickly and more often out of pure desperation owing to the one day headstart and ease of the tier. If you don't see that, you clearly aren't smart or impartial enough to be having this conversation. The ONLY viable metric is the speed to complete the race, which Echo won. Unlucky. Better luck next time
