There are no epic films like this in Hollywood anymore, with so much love, work and dedication in them. I hope the people from the upcoming CLEOPATRA take a look at the scale of this.
What sets this blockbuster apart, what makes it look so very authentic, is the visuals, and in fact the limited amount of CGI used to make it happen. Thank God this whole project paid off at the box offices around the world, because the crew had put an ENORMOUS amount of effort into set design, cinematography, costume, hair and make-up design, all captured in remarkable camera work, editing, sound mixing... A lot of movies attempt to recreate ancient history, but Troy actually did!
I first saw Troy when I was in high school and instantly fell in love with it. Until now it still remains my number one favorite movie. The romance between Achilles and Briseis was just so beautiful that they totally eclipsed Helen and Paris.
What a great job done! Massive and accurate set, fantastic actors, brilliant director and staff, deep script freely adapted on one of the greatest epic poems.
Wow. I watched it last night for about the 5th time and am still amazed. Up until now i figured most of the set was computer or green screen crap but they actually built a good amount of it with a lot of detail. I love movies like this. Sooo many people involved with important components all at the same time.
Yes, in deed. He was a good and honorable man. His skills and abilities in battle were very brilliant to. That is why I love his character in the film. He made a great Prince of Troy through his loving and rightful father, as king 👑. Hoping one day his son Hector would rise by taking his fathers place. But due to an honest mistake of killing the enemies cousin, Patroclus :-( Achilles avenged his death. While the others of Hectors people stood back and watched them duel. Hoping he would win. Instead they watched Prince of Troy fall to his death. At the end of film, Paris, Hectors younger sibling got his revenge and also avenged Hectors wrongful passing. Their names remain unforgotten still to this day. It's quite fascinating and so unique. Is why I love these historical films, favorite ones to watch.
If our civilization were to get wiped out, yet some people survived, they would one day be telling tales of a mythical race that could travel to the moon, could speak to each other on the other side of the world, and could build technical masterpieces and fantastical worlds for a 3 hour long piece of art.
How many soldiers (extras) played in the movie TROY, I estimate those big battles at 5000 men...if so...that requires a whole organization. Or were they added to the movie afterwards by movie tricks? Beautiful movie by the way that I have seen here in NL 3 times thanks to Netflix and later bought my own DVD, that goes on the pile of movies like: The Battle of Midway, D-Day Normandy, BATTLE OF THE BULG ETC. -( i AM 74 YEARS NOW EN Have many films now.
Bu film savaşın geçtiği yerde, yani Çanakkale de çekilseydi çok daha anlamlı olurdu.Yinede tüm çekim ekibine oyuncuları gösterdikleri performanstan dolayı tebrik ederim.
I, never understood my name (Troy) and I wondered why my Mum, gave me such a strange name. I, just wanted a quiet life, but this silly name stopped that! 😵

As I have said: Making of, takes Movie Magic from me!
Watching epic films like troy and gladiator teach you these things: real men wear skirts and real women wear dresses :-)
Nicely said.
