    what really gets me about "I rejected a girl as revenge" is how he's so comfortable saying he's a completely different person after a year, but he doesn't even consider that Clara might also be a different person now too
    grossly self-centered

      I wanted to ask different how? Sure, got into shape, but doing that shows zero emotional growth. To not tell her why is so gross. I’m hoping it’s fake, some kind of incel fanfic.

      @spoon1968 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +179

      Maybe she had just gotten out of a relationship, was having mental health issues, dealing with a loss, so many things the first time around. It's odd he assumed it has to do with looks and took it so personally without asking.
      Even the second time around he could have asked why she said yes this time. But he chose the most incel way of dealing with it that takes her as a whole person with a life and history out of the equation.

    • @slsthewriter1299
      @slsthewriter1299 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +124

      But also, maybe it had been this type of energy (being severely insecure) is what turned her off in the first place, and with him getting into shape, he got better at hiding it from her this second time around.
      Either way it's incredibly self-centered, and it sounds like the bullet did her a favor and dodged her instead. Lol

      My parents should have gotten a divorce years ago, but with pressure from my aunt, and “the church” about how “marrage is a permanent promise you make in the eyes of god”. They still live together, and still try to live like a married couple when they are clearly constantly clashing heads and hurting each other. My aunt and uncle actively believes that when you get married you shouldnt even entertain the idea of divorcing ever because you took the vow to always support your partner.
      They see their pastor and a councilor, and go to lots of small groups together and separate in order to deal with their own chaos. They do this to themselves so i dont feel bad anymore. All i can do is never look back and love them separately.

    Just confirming that drinking your own alcohol on an airplane had always been illegal (or as far as I’m aware in my 20 years) but in 2020 when airlines stopped serving drinks because Covid, people bringing their own alcohol and causing problems was out of control, they started announcing it, (the excuse they didn’t know was common)
    And I’ve 100% given free drinks to people that have been cabin heroes (especially when I don’t have to get involved)
    And cutting off people is always tricky and usually at the discretion of the FA, some will only serve two, some will only cut off the person, some just make themselves scarce and it seems the service has stopped

I left it there because I trusted him and me to get through whatever we were going through but he was looking elsewhere. Anyway back in December I got my clothes back due to a good friend of mine who lived near his place (he lives in a different country). He even made her wait so long and she even saw how he behaved firsthand. Later on I heard he threatened a girl he had a crush on and she blocked him too. He literally went after a girl less than a month after he discarded me. It really showed he loved me truly 🤣🤣 Anyway I can't wait to tell all these stories to my grandchildren one day about the cheater who left me. I truly hope he does get his karma.

      @MovableNu I would probably leave, because I can't imagine this is a one time thing, but I don't particularly like saying "leave". Relationships are complicated and I don't know her situation. So I choose wording it in a way that gives her the power of choice, rather than telling her what to do. Even if she will never see it. Besides telling someone what to do can cause defensiveness, especially if someone is this deep into being manipulated. Finally on Reddit I think the orders to leave have lost their power, since I have seen people say someone should leave over ridiculous things.
      OP: He ate my candy bar
      Reddit: Clearly he has no respect for you and you should leave immediately!

    re: the second story: someone not having feelings for you but later developing feelings for you doesn't warrant "revenge" solely because the rejection brought up your insecurities. if she had shamed his appearance or personality when rejecting him then sure, that would warrant it, but what he did is self-sabotage more than it is revenge. she doesn't owe it to you to have had feelings for you from the get-go, that isn't a form of wronging someone on its own. insulting is another thing entirely, but that isn't what happened.

We would run up to the people handing them out and hold our hands out for them sometimes before they even spotted us. One guy who was always near our hotel thought it was hilarious and would just laugh every time he saw us. If I'm at a point where I'm at a bad job, just got out of a bad relationship, money is tight, I'm so depressed but not really dealing with it and a few years later I'm no longer struggling with those things, I'd of course expect someone to be more interested in the latter. I've been in the first situation and if I've had a partner, I'm hoping they stay and try to support me through good and bad but I need to do the work. I've also taken time from dating to work on myself with the thought, I just don't want to be out here giving a broken version of myself. It stands to reason that if she doesn't recognise him only a year later, then she either barely knew him when he first asked her out or he has changed so drastically in appearance that he doesn't look even remotely like he used to. Both are perfectly understandable reasons for her to now be interested in him when she wasn't originally. But, regardless, she doesn't even really need a 'reason' to say no, anybody can say no just because they want to. the guy in the rejection story rubbed me the wrong way entirely. i'm someone who has gone through major physical changes (lost 200 lbs, grew my damaged short hair out to long natural hair, cleared up my skin, etc) and i know from experience that yes, it hurts to be rejected for your physical appearance. i can also say that i get a lot more attention from people nowadays- even people who rejected me in the past. however, i don't hold grudges against people who weren't attracted to me before. people have preferences and standards and no one owed me anything. sometimes it can be hard to accept that rejection may have had to do with your looks because you want to be seen for your personality, but part of life is respecting other people's preferences and attraction. besides, i can't say for a fact that they rejected me solely because of my appearance as people sometimes have other reasons like having feelings for someone else, not being in the place for a relationship, or simply only feeling a platonic bond. it would be stupid of me to get "revenge" on someone just because they find me attractive now and didn't in the past. like shayne said, communicate! talk to the person about what you're struggling to move past to get some closure rather than getting "revenge". if you ghost them and leave it like that, her rejection will be the cut that always bleeds and your rejection will just be a papercut to her.

Like ive seen guys complain about how a woman broke up with someone and there was nothing wrong with him and they blame her, but sometimes things just dont work. Firstly, theres so much more to being a good partner than just being a decent person, and secondly, sometimes ppl are just incompatible, their lives go separate ways, its the wrong time, etc., and neither person is in the wrong. Same with turning someone down - you might be a nice guy, but maybe theyre just not ready for that, or they dont think you two are compatible or smth.

    4:05 That absolutely is revenge. Revenge and Revenue are both words from the same single latin word meaning loosely "to (re)pay." One is payment for a good. The other is payment for a bad. Re Venire: to come back. Re is 'back'. Venire is 'to come'. You give someone a good, the good comes back. You give someone a bad, the bad comes back.
    "Revenge is a dish best served cold" is a cautionary expression, as even back in the way back when Latin was spoken by actual Imperial Rome, people understood that your body literally gets hotter when you are emotionally compromised, at a biomechanical level. You get "heated." You're "hot headed." If you are logical, it is associated with coldness, coolness.
    If you are angry when you take your revenge, it is very common to take more than you deserve, which is itself wronging someone, and leads to the "cycle of revenge." If you are cool headed and calculated, it is less likely that you'll exceed the punishment they deserve.
    Revealing you understood the insults someone said about you in a different language and then paying them back those same insults is exactly how you're supposed to do revenge. In this case I'd also 1 star them and leave a specific warning, since they've definitely been doing it to other people that didn't speak Romanian and they deserve a little extra.
    Revenge is essential.
    Culture keeps pushing this flawed understanding of revenge and calling it bad because the people in power don't want to get what they deserve and they heavily influence culture. It is a trick. They are deceiving you. They all lie. They all cheat. They all steal. They all cause loss of life. They all exploit and cause suffering for their personal gain.
    It doesn't have to be like this.

      Apparently I did this when I was younger too. Same thing happened on our flight, and I was like «oooh it’s like a rollercoaster». Terrified my brother though (he doesn’t get on planes anymore), and if that same thing happened to me today idk how I’d feel about it tbh

    You guys should do a reddit stories where people get what they deserve, like a karmic or righteous theme!! Either like, someone works really hard and gets a job, or someone wears a bridal dress at another’s wedding and is booed out the wedding!! That’d be really fun!!

    My mum was Deaf and some people would trash talk her knowing she couldn't hear when we went out (most of the time it was pretty ignorant comments about her intelligence). They failed to realise she had a hearing daughter who would translate when requested. Lesson to learn here: don't shit talk Deaf people. There is always a way to find out what you're saying.

    1:02:29 Definitely ESH. Should've sent the video -and messages- to the coworker she's dating and is in the video and no one else. I think him telling her family is fine. I wouldn't do it myself but that'd be more normal revenge that's not illegal.

      OP is NTA to me. He's didn't post it anywhere or give it out to whoever. He just sent it to those he needed to get her to stop. Ppl like them don't stop. Don't weaponize explicit stuff if you don't want it weaponized on you.

      @@P4trickSt4rmie I still think it's both unnecessary in this situation and unethical to share sex tapes without permission. Plus the ex isn't the only one in the video.

      @@thegishof9766they may not be the ah to you, but they fully broke the law several times sending that to her family members. They did a disservice to themselves if nothing else because she can prosecute now and revenge p is a bigger charge I believe than unsolicited stuff.

      @@thegishof9766 I agree with your last sentence and I don't feel bad for the ex. But OP is definitely still in the wrong. Revenge prn is not good no matter who's doing it.
      He had other options like showing text conversation. He could also give evidence that video is a sex tape of her that she sent him without showing the family the video. And I still don't approve but even showing the doubtful relatives the video would've been better than sending them the video. Because now each person OP sent the video to can also share the video.

    I’ll never understand how some guys have the bloated ego to think a girl not being attracted to him is her fault
