    When we talk about the Saudi league then human rights becomes an issue but when we talk about the premier league and the oil sponsors from Middle East and the oil money, it’s not a deal

      Well said, when oligarchs was the owners of clubs it wasn't a problem, when man city literally got transformed it wasn't an issue because the money was being used in England. Now all of sudden it's a massive problem even thought every fan and club wants a sheikh owner

And just like the human rights crimes of one nation and its representative financial corporations are wrong, it's ALSO WRONG to ignore those who welcome financial investments from those same entities and make profits from those who are protected by a government which commits human rights violations.

    this comment section is insane. There are no countries on earth that are perfect regarding human rights. That's being said, how can comments put on the same level France, the US, UK and Saudi in terms of human rights. That gap is huge, it is indeniable

      Inserting a non-innocent behavior or practice such as LGBTQRSTU++ into human rights is just demolishing the establishment idea of human rights itself.       Henry here isnt wrong.
      You arent wrong when you pointed out the "tunnel vision" in that he didnt address all human rights violations across the world. But he was specifically asked about Saudi Arabia in this case, so he answered that question. In this instance his nationality is completely irrelevant.
      I didnt criticize you, I just pointed out where you were wrong. I questioned the motives behind that, which you also decided to ignore.

      People in places such as the UK, US, France etc should really consider things in their own country before being critical of other countries with different cultures.

      Because being gay is biological, it therefore happens to people from each region of the world regardless of religion, or whether they want to feel that way or not. Following a specific religion is ideological, so it is something people can accept or reject as they learn about the idea. I mean who would choose to be gay in the middle East, and yet there are many gay people there. But no one was yet born adhering to a specific religion.

      ​@@comecombat5060 The fact that Saudi still treats it's migrant workers horrifically unless they're rich, athletes or celebrities.
      Migrant workers in industries like construction and services are raped, robbed, exploited and killed under the Saudi system which sees workers have their passports taken from them by employers and get trapped without pay.
      Of course the money offered is an understandable reason to go there but so is not wanting to support a football industry literally built in blood to entice them.
      Lots of footballers are from working class families so it's understandable that they'd consider the implications of selling out for a paycheck at the cost of other people's suffering.
      Especially when the quality of football isn't even top tier so they're basically trading potential growth and skill for money.

    I'm european and i don't care if european football is in danger or not. If you play good football, then i don't care where are you from. Although i can agree on the human rights issue, i cannot unnotice big european clubs being financed by the countries which they blame for human rights violations. European clubs pay huge amount of money to sign players, so i guess they buying their success as well, they're no different.

    Whenever we talk about human rights, it is very important for us to know that the definition of human rights shouldn't be based on how other people are living in their country.
    What I mean is that when u look at every country, the cultures are different. So, we can not say that because some countries have legalized LGBTQ, other countries should do the same. And if they don't, they are violating human rights.
    Every country makes laws based on their cultural beliefs.
    As far as I am concerned, no country is innocent when it comes to human rights violations.
