OK.... Where's Dolce Gabbana pieces???? We saw only 3-4 very nice coats but all the rest... We saw Moschino-ish, Philippe Plein-ish, Moncler-ish, Gucci-ish... even 2-3 jackets Chanel-ish.... and of course AMERICA song for 20 min was.... headburn. But where's Dolce Gabbana? great creative Italian brand with Opera and class?

What would you say is the D&G look ? It looked very typical of their aesthetic, colors, prints, textures, bling, I suppose they belong in that category of designers you mentioned, the PP, Gucci, Moschino, as far as general aesthetic is concerned, even Versace. They were never Armani.

Mixing different influences (from other designers) to create sth new is nothing wrong, as long as the DNA of D&G remains visible.
1. All designers take from others. Philipp Plein for example copies D&G since day one as his main source of inspiration.
2. If you watch all D&G fashionshows of the past, you will recognize many elements in this show, that D&G showed years or decades before.
3. At the end you will see that it is hard to say, which designer/brand showed certain characteristics at first.
4. I agree that D&G suprised with a radical switch from traditionally/elegant to young/luxurious streetstyles. As I am over 40 years, I see myself not centre of the target group of this show. BUT as usual: The next Winter collection is NOT only what we see in the fashionshow.
5. Thank you Dolce&Gabbana for designing the most beautyful clothes all over the world.

Its sad to see a once iconic house being reduced to this. There still is a strong tailoring aspect, which is fine, BUT what's with all the bling? Its not even being used ironically here. DG menswear used to stand for impeccable, sharp and slimming suits. Now, instead of being on par with Armani, it is on par with Phillip Plein. DG said the label dies with them as they dont want some Japanese guy designing for them. I'm sure no Japanese guy would lower themselves to design for whatever DG has become now. Overpriced clothes for rich 🤑 fakbois.

When fashion turns into a trend it's the last step before it's no longer a style but a tacky hype.
Where is the elegance???? This is full of hipster/trash. What happened to D&G? Going to follow the same route Burberry does just so "millennials" like the brand?
It's just not the kind of 'elegance' that you want to see. I agree the collection is not all elegant but in some case it is with a new type of thinking.This is the 'new' elegance which can also share the stage with the 'old' elegance that 'once upon a time' was always reverent and celebrated. There is plenty room for both! I'm a great fan of the old elegance but also I appreciate that time moves on and any concept can be revisited, modified and renewed. Actually D&G men (nor women) has never been known in it's DNA to be 'elegant' as you expect it to be within any one particular decade period as best as I know. So what they are doing with both men and women's fashion is pretty much consistent with what they've always done. From an economic view point for D&G (and others) they are spot on for targeting the 'millennials' as you described, as they now represent a powerful new money base along with strong influencing capabilities. They have longed loved the big brands but were not always in a position to afford it. But now that has changed. To ignore this would be simply stupid and surely corporate negligence. Also STREET WEAR is what most people want and wear most anyway these days. Also most people in the world are not invited to fancy galas, red carpet events and alternative lavish functions but still wish the ownership of relaxed, informal and 'new elegance' high end style on the streets.
It called "new" elegant. hipster, street style, hip - hip etc can be elegant too. That's how you carrying yourself with confident and make it expensive

It looks to me as if they took inspiration from my mother's and grandmother's closet with the costume jewelry , oversize outerwear, lame, and the handbags, on everyone! Ostrich feathers, lame, the croakies on the eyeglasses, WTF! Gender bending is fine, but this whole collections is abysmal. Where is the classy, sexy and trend setting. The patchwork pieces had some redeeming qualities, but honestly, this collection is not inspiring. I realize that it was not aimed at my generation that had bell bottoms and tie-dyed tee shirts, but we also had Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Christian LaCroix, etc. Sorry boys but I just don't get it.

Whereas I wanted to buy all the men’s pieces (especially the coats) from the Balmain show; I wouldn’t pick these pieces out of the 99 cent bin. The whole collection feels confused, like this atrocious choice of music.
