We recently drove this model and it was amazing, passed other cars with plenty of pep, seats were comfortable and the control panel was awesome to look at. Mileage was very, very good. I think this car looks good also! We also enjoyed parking it with ease and driving it at 80MPH on a freeway. (legal speed in certain areas) Any doubts we had about this model are long gone. If you need economy, style and reliability, I suggest a Honda Fit!
In the rearview camera, the dashed line represents a distance of about 3 or 4 feet from the rear of the car - specifically, it shows how close to a wall you can get, and still be able to open the hatch.
video is a bit slow for my tastes but its highly detailed if you are interested in the honda fit this guy did a better job showing me the fit than the dealer i was talking to face to face
Exactly! My salesperson didn't even bother to mention the econ button or how any of the other interior feaatures worked! He told me to just play around. ..
I am the second generation fit owner. One thing I really admire of this third generation is the rear legroom. almost 5 inch legroom increase...man that is huge. it is compact car with midsize car legroom. impressive.
I've had my car for 24 hours now and wondered if I'd figure out all the features this little sweetie has. Amazing compared to my 2013 navi! Thank you so much, great video for new owners, not just potential buyers!
Thank you for the review as I learned a bit more about my 2016 purchase and the features! Sometimes certain features are a mystery until someone like you provides such an in depth view! for example the rear hatch locking buttons which I had no idea existed until I saw your review. Thanks! I've owned my fit since May 1st...it's very helpful watching your review as far as getting to know more about my new Honda Fit!
Manuel Wong Omg I’m gonna be getting one too. I was considering the civic, but with the kids and a medium sized dog, this fit is looking really nice. How are you liking the car? 🙂
My 2002 Fit 1.5L was really nice. It was good acceleration, nice engine sound, easy to drive. I think many recent cars are slow acceleration. Of course, fuel efficiency is good. But not fun.
Thanks Mike just bought a RED fit. they gave me a DVD which i thought would be a video like yours on how to use everything but it was just a manual learned alot . just paired my cheap LG phone and tested by calling home. SOO cool
Hey Mike, Thanks for the awesome review, I was pretty much in dilemma for quiet sometime and you have cleared it all. Great work and I have almost finalized of owning this amazing vehicle.. Thanks again
Thank you for this video. I just bought one & by the time I drove it off the lot it was late & aafter closing so I wasnt shown an in depth view of all the features so this video helped a lot!!
Thanks very much for a FANTASTIC video of the Honda Fit. After watching your video I went and bought the 2016 Honda Fit EX,It was a little less expensive than the EXL. Keep up the great video again and keep up the great work.
You take the time to review all the small details. Thats so nice, because it feels like you were really confortable with no presure by the time. The quality of the video is awesome!. Great video. Now I know the lack of features that the mexican version have in comparission with the american version but it doesnt matter Im super satisfied with my Fit Fun
I just bought a 2016 Honda Fit. (I don't have heated seats~~~bummer!)When I bought it, the sales person and I went over everything, but there are so many things to learn, I needed a 'refresher course' on the some features. I have added this video to my list so I can quickly find it if I need it again. Thanks!
2016 I have is made in Japan. I can get in the 40's for gas mileage if I really baby it on a long trip. Most car for the money as far as I can see. I get my bicycle in the back with the seats down of course. Cheap to lease at 239/month with 1000 down on 12000 mile lease. I recommend it.
I wish they were cheap to lease in Canada. They have such high interest rates on the Fit that it costs as much as a small SUV. The EXL trim is a $30,000 car here. Would have bought one a long time ago, if they were more affordable.
just test drove one last week cause I'm buying one this year when they come in so I still have 5 weeks to wait for it. but this little car has tons of room and amazing fuel economy...my sister has one and when her gas light turns on it takes 38$ to fill...Ontario area. Cant wait to get into mine...
@Jordan, I have a '09 Fit Sport for a work vehicle and I have a severely bad back but I don't feel any fatigue from the seats. I really enjoy driving this and the car feels rock solid!
Honda really hears the customers not like some other that only focuses on one side,if they focus on exterior they leave the interior, and vice versa, some do refinement but left the fun out.And some only focused on fun and money, forgot the reliability and practicality.
Nice review. Amazed that you managed to do such a long narrative video with very little number of edits. I own a Honda GP5 S grade Japanese domestic version vehicle (Year 2015) and learnt a lot from this video. But I wonder why many interior controls etc. are different of mine: whether it is because of the year (2015 Vs. 2016) or the version (domestic Vs. export)? Most noticeable differences of mine are: 1 Meter panel (mine looks better and more informative but Japanese text) 2 Small switches below steering wheel (call answering and voice command) to change between different screens of the meter panel 3 No tpms 4 No spare tyre (only the repair kit) 5 Touch panel A/c controls 6 Gear lever default position doesn't change depending on the gear (it gets back to the same position after you shift) 7 There's a switch to turn on the Sports mode, not using the gear lever Have any thoughts on these? Thanks.
Great economy car with lots of useful technologies inside. I have the same 2016 EXL silver model. Great small car, its a shame they stopped making it in the U.S.
+Mosh Keren Using an HDMI cable and adapter you can connect to an Ipod or Android device which will activate screen mirroring so you can play movies and use apps from the car's LCD display.
I am watching this now and it is 2024 I wish I bought this in 2016 Which one is better out of the 4 different styles. I think the exL is a good one. I bought a Honda Civic in 2012 brand new and I still have it now in 2024. Thinking about buying an Honda Fit. Not brand new maybe. 2017 or 2018. Thanks for the video it was very informative
I can say this is a well made and great driving car in the EXL version. Just a note ENSURE there is no NOISE coming from the front two windows as the Accord and Civic have both had recent recalls for this issue up to 2015 models and a LOT of complaints. The Fit engine is noticeable at idle reminds me of a diesel engine truck from outside, however, it was not heard inside the car.Bang for buck you cannot go wrong here- Just read the Honda Fit forums FIRST!
The civic SHOCKINGLY offers a remote start factory! Great car seen one close up recently:) Im hoping the 2018 CRZ will be made just as great! The sales for crz have been HORRIBLE for HONDA.
I currently drive a 2006 Toyota Matrix. I've had my eye on the Fit for a while once I felt I was ready. One thing I didn't understand was how can you control the shifting of the gears if you have automatic?. I got my Toyota manual and while it's great control, I'm getting older and the clutch and gear shift for my city driving is hard on my foot and elbow. And awkward at times.
+Amy Israel I'm using an older version but system is the same so I think I can explain :) Manual mode on this vehicle is, let's say... just for fun. There isn't any cluctch pedal. You just take it to manual mode and use the paddle shifters under the wheel to up and down (right shifter is up, left shifter is down). I recommend you to use it in automatic drive mode which is more fuel efficient and comfortable. Few things to worth mention are: 1) you cannot feel the gear changes because there isn't any physical gear (CVT- Continusly Variable Transmission). it's really smooth... 2) downside of this transmission is, if you want to accelereate real quick, the engine makes noise... other than that, if you want to use it for everyday driving then, it's the best transmission you can have.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to watch the whole video right now because I'm heading to work soon, but I have a question: Did they make the door paneling softer in the 2016, or is it the same hard plastic as the 2015?
+MikesCarInfo Well that's a shame to hear. I had hoped they would fix the one thing EVERY reviewer complained about haha. I'm still getting that car either way though. Thanks for the reply!
+MikesCarInfo Finally got a chance to watch the whole thing, and I'd like to point out one thing you didn't mention that I absolutely love about the Fit. Hope you don't mind :-) The back up camera has three different angles: the wide angle, the standard "narrow" angle, and a top-down view. You can cycle through the angles by pressing the on-screen buttons in the bottom left corner while the back up camera is on. Finally, the dotted line you pointed out on the back up camera is how close you can get to an object and still open trunk/tailgate/latch/whatever it's called on this thing. If you spend a lot of time in the trunk, that dotted line can really come in handy! ...if you can't tell, I really like the back up camera on the Fit.
+Southcaltrojans No. Pretty sure since 2015 Civic models there was introduced this sensor key. What that means is if you do lock the key in the car, the car will open once you get closer to it. A guy at Honda showed me this one day, pretty neat trick actually.

Hi Mike - thanks for the detailed report. I am still confused about the phone-link. I would not be getting the EX-L, I would probably get the EX. If I opt to use my iPhone's native SIRI-controlled navigation (I love the way I can just tell SIRI to "navigate to whatever", and the directions are usually very good) - would I be able to see the iPhone's navigation graphics on the 7-in screen? Or can you only see navigation graphics if you purchase and use the 59.99 HondaLink Navigation NA app? If I cannot SEE the SIRI-controlled iPhone navigation graphics - can I HEAR it? For that matter - can I hear anything that I play through my iPhone? Could I play music from Spotify through the car's speakers? What sort of things can I see that are on my iPhone? Pictures? Web pages? Or can I only see the graphics when using the proprietary Honda iOS apps?
I have a 2020 Fit EX, black color like the one in this review, which came from this same dealership. Love my Fit! Great review, by the way. #Fitastic 🙂❤️
Does this support Carplay or Android Auto? If not, will it be able to be update to support this in the next few months? I really want to use CarPlay over Honda Link.
+Javan Dell Don't know about 2016, but check this thread for some 2015 feedback. www.fitfreak.net/forums/general-fit-talk/86001-back-pain-badly-designed-driver-s-seat.html
we just bought the honda jazz which is the British version, why we got a different name nobody knows, but we are happy with it , we have the 1.3 version v tech, and it can fly along pretty good and fuel economy is brilliant, After switching to this car from the Kia Venga, i have found the lower driving position a little awkward, and did have a little lower back ache, very minor but it was there after driving 250 miles approx in one hit, All in all its a brilliant small car with loads of room I had two bikes in the back on day one with the front wheels removed, The only other niggle is lane departure warning s, They drove me bonkers, so I turned them off once off the freeway, as you call them,.So yes buy one the price is right as well in the uk.
Have you tried to fit a road bike, standing up (either with or without the front wheel) with the magic seats up? I know I could lay it flat in the back cargo but I'd rather have it upright. Thanks.
I have a UK 2014 Jazz/Fit, very interested to view your review and what a difference between UK & US models! We get as an option Glass roof, you get a sunroof in the current version (not in UK) and leather seats, we only get cloth! And 1.4 engine, you get 1.5 -more power - engine! I much prefer the US version!! Thanks for a great review!

I have this car since 2016. Rain water can enter the car from somewhere. There is always a "pond" on the floor of the driver side

Thanks.

@Maria Garay The VIN number is in the description. It is a 2016 Honda Fit.
It's an amazing car and will be my second Honda
Ive been trying to get this car for over a month with no luck.
great review though. Makes me want it even more now.
I been looking at the fit your review was very helpful now I'm sure this is the car I want to buy

Sure... why not?
IDK if it FITS my cup though?

Pretty handy.
Wow, you did such a great review! Thanks for it! I'm currently considering the Fit.
Just lost my Manual 2010 Honda Fit Sport to an accident. Made me realize how much I LOVED that car. Hoping I can find another FIT close by

thank you for the informative video. I will check out the 2016 UK Honda Jazz for the features you described.

Hi Mike Thank you for this video
Can you tell me what is the use for the HDMI socket. is it possble to conect a divice to it and watch a movie
+Mosh Keren I haven't tried it but I think you can play video on the screen.
+Mosh Keren Using an HDMI cable and adapter you can connect to an Ipod or Android device which will activate screen mirroring so you can play movies and use apps from the car's LCD display.
Hi deep stick I watch movies on the screen fron the USB stick but only whil parking unable to watch when releas the hand brack.
Why does a 20k fit EX-L have an HDMI port , but a 35k Odyssey EX-L doesn't 🤔🤔🤔
I am watching this now and it is 2024 I wish I bought this in 2016 Which one is better out of the 4 different styles. I think the exL is a good one. I bought a Honda Civic in 2012 brand new and I still have it now in 2024. Thinking about buying an Honda Fit. Not brand new maybe. 2017 or 2018. Thanks for the video it was very informative
Where can I find one I live in Charlotte

+Mike Smith Thanks for the info Mike!
The loud noise of the engine is normal to direct injection engines. Which makes the enging more responsive.
*engine
+Mike Smith I was told, your better off spending a few thousand more for the all new Civic
The civic SHOCKINGLY offers a remote start factory! Great car seen one close up recently:) Im hoping the 2018 CRZ will be made just as great! The sales for crz have been HORRIBLE for HONDA.
I like it a lot
I currently drive a 2006 Toyota Matrix. I've had my eye on the Fit for a while once I felt I was ready. One thing I didn't understand was how can you control the shifting of the gears if you have automatic?. I got my Toyota manual and while it's great control, I'm getting older and the clutch and gear shift for my city driving is hard on my foot and elbow. And awkward at times.
+Amy Israel I'm using an older version but system is the same so I think I can explain :)
Manual mode on this vehicle is, let's say... just for fun. There isn't any cluctch pedal. You just take it to manual mode and use the paddle shifters under the wheel to up and down (right shifter is up, left shifter is down).
I recommend you to use it in automatic drive mode which is more fuel efficient and comfortable.
Few things to worth mention are:
1) you cannot feel the gear changes because there isn't any physical gear (CVT- Continusly Variable Transmission). it's really smooth...
2) downside of this transmission is, if you want to accelereate real quick, the engine makes noise...
other than that, if you want to use it for everyday driving then, it's the best transmission you can have.
+tardigrad thank you for taking the time to explain (fancy tech stuff!!)
This car is amazing
Do a video of the 2015 Honda Civic Si Coupe.
When you lock your car is it normal to have two blinking red lights? The cd one and where your rpm is. My old fit didn't have that. Also when is the best to have the econ button on? Some people say this some say different what is your point of view?
Can you play music simultaneously while using the system navigation? Does the navigation shut off during a phone call or continue to run In the background?
Unfortunately, I don't have time to watch the whole video right now because I'm heading to work soon, but I have a question: Did they make the door paneling softer in the 2016, or is it the same hard plastic as the 2015?
+Disciple Moto Its the same as the 2015.
Hope you don't mind :-)
The back up camera has three different angles: the wide angle, the standard "narrow" angle, and a top-down view.
Very detailed and helpful. Thanks!
Do they make a Fit with "electric seats" and/or can you get electric adjustable seats???
I really like this 2016 Honda Fit EX-L
+ladyyuna2000 Thank you :)

Is it possible to lock your key in the car with that type of key? Sorry if its a dumb question.
+Southcaltrojans No. Pretty sure since 2015 Civic models there was introduced this sensor key. What that means is if you do lock the key in the car, the car will open once you get closer to it. A guy at Honda showed me this one day, pretty neat trick actually.
+Southcaltrojans I don't know if you can change the default setting. But as an owner of this model, I know that by default:
1 The vehicle doesn't get locked automatically.
2 The door lock switch on the door doesn't work while the key is inside the vehicle.
So you won't get into that kind of trouble with this type of key.
Do you still get the blind spot camera if you don't buy the navigation system?
Does it have to be in S to use paddle shifters ?
+skunk1955 Yes
At least in my '17, you can at least "downshift" while in D, which I've used to slow down while coasting down a hill.
I have a 2020 Fit EX, black color like the one in this review, which came from this same dealership. Love my Fit! Great review, by the way. #Fitastic 🙂❤️
Great review... great camera work. Thanks!
Thanks Brian :)
Please share if you can.

Does this support Carplay or Android Auto? If not, will it be able to be update to support this in the next few months? I really want to use CarPlay over Honda Link.
Totally want this car!
I found one on Carmax for 11k for the EX-L trim of 2016. It doesnt mention a Navi and it says 2WD. Is there a difference between that and FWD?
Can you give the price of each vehicle you review and each model? That would be very useful. Thanks.
+brandon alcantara There is a link in the description with pricing and more info.
thanks
Very thorough and informative description.
I'm so jealous of the Fit. Here in the UK, the 'Jazz' is 1.3...no leather/heated seats/sunroof option :(
nice video planning on buying one soon
+Dannypr83 Thank you :)
Do Honda fits have Honda sensing technology?
Very good review, is there any chance you would do one for the Honda Civic Touring 2016?
I just wished it has a physical volume control. Not just on steering.
Great video,thanks for sharing
Is it true owners of these Fit complain of seat discomfort after 2 hours of driving?
+Javan Dell Don't know about 2016, but check this thread for some 2015 feedback.

Thank you so much!!!
please please tell me why there are paddle shifters if there are no gears? how do they work if they work, do they make any difference?
It simulates gear ratios called speed ratios... it works the same.
im disappointed you never test drive this unit.
Did you ever buy one Mike? My wife loves hers.
Very helpful video - what kind of gas mileage would one get if driven in Sports mode all the time?
Excellent review . Thank you
we just bought the honda jazz which is the British version, why we got a different name nobody knows, but we are happy with it , we have the 1.3 version v tech, and it can fly along pretty good and fuel economy is brilliant, After switching to this car from the Kia Venga, i have found the lower driving position a little awkward, and did have a little lower back ache, very minor but it was there after driving 250 miles approx in one hit, All in all its a brilliant small car with loads of room I had two bikes in the back on day one with the front wheels removed, The only other niggle is lane departure warning s, They drove me bonkers, so I turned them off once off the freeway, as you call them,.So yes buy one the price is right as well in the uk.
Do you like tea???
@@reese-zz8bk Love tea yes of course i am british ,do you like coffee.
Have you tried to fit a road bike, standing up (either with or without the front wheel) with the magic seats up? I know I could lay it flat in the back cargo but I'd rather have it upright. Thanks.
+taurus20077 No I sure haven't. That is a good idea... it seems like one might fit with the front tire removed.
Thanks for the reply.

So how do you start your car when it’s a push button and your battery is dead?
what's difference between the honda fit 15 from 2016 honda fit?
+ISSAY68 They are the same.
To be happy with your UK version of the car , just see the Indian version!!
