We bought your harness a few weeks ago and it’s been great so far! My cat doesn’t seem hate putting it on as much as the other ones we’ve tried and I like that I don’t need to make the straps very tight to prevent my cat from escaping, it seems much more comfortable for him. Thank you for creating this
My Bengal just lost this exact harness an hour ago. This time for good. Then when he has gotten it snagged on the upper deck when tethered, he’s managed to escape this harness three other times in the past. I think it is because he has snagged other parts of the harness, not that tethered end that tightens when pulled. What happens is once he gets snagged, if he pulls hard enough, the adjustable clasp on the tether will loosen sufficient that he can squeeze his head out of the upper noose. This is probably a good thing because if he does get loose from the leash or tether he won’t be left stranded on a nail or up a tree. All said, he does have a Tabcat locator on his neck collar. Only today, the battery went dead! What a fiasco! So I had to run up to the pharmacy to pick up a new battery. Valuable time was.lost. Don’t be me! Lesson here is always stock up on extra batteries. Keep an extra collar around too. Favorable ending to the story-I was finally able to locate Valentino within 30 feet of where I lost him.
Would have liked an update/conclusion on Mia spending the hour outside at the end, feels a bit incomplete. Otherwise the harness looks great and I will definitely be buying!
You are totally right! Nothing at all happened she stayed well over an hour on my backyard... I actually think I'll be doing that more often... Thanks so so much for the feedback! I appreciate it!
I have 3 rescued Bengals. 2 are white but not rosetted, the other is rosetted and not white. The latter has a skin condition and has to wear a suit all the time. She is leash trained, spends almost all day outside, often alone, on her lead. She is very well trained and will heel, even without her lead. The white ones are happiest outside and they are let free. We live in a very safe area with no predators. It's lovely to see them play together, they do mostly stay in the garden, but they like to visit the neighbours too, occasionally going inside for pets! I am happy I could take these cats in, even though they have cost a crazy amount in vet fees and medications. They are 4, 6 and 10 years old. My first Bengal, Aaliyah, (who looked like Mia) died when she was only 8. I still mourn her loss. They are remarkable animals! Thank you, Albert, for sharing your Mia with the world, so more people can enjoy the beautiful world of the Bengals. xx 🐆💞
I ordered your harness and have gone on endless of hikes and paddle boarding adventures. She can run full speed and climb trees in the harness, I have so many amazing videos. Though, I have tied two knots at the top of the harness as there is to much slake and the harness drags as she walks making her want to grab it. Also There is to much gap on the leg adjustments and can't make it any tighter to fit her correctly. I love the harness only adjustments would be a shorter top part and more adjustment to make the shoulders tighter, also the left and right side shoulder attachments get tangled easily if there was a little divider in the O-ring to keep them separated might help. Thank you so much for all your help, its hard finding cat products that aren't made for dogs.
THANK YOU! I really appreciate the feedback! I'll look into making the top leash attachment shorter, it's true that there's no need for it being so long. What size did you get? The big one is pretty large! I'm working on a large harness for bigger cats but it's not going to be ready until end of October.
I purchased your harness and tried it on my 5 month old kitten today. She did pretty good! At first it seemed like she was thinking “what the heck are you doing to me?” as I was trying to put it around her neck. She kept trying to look at it and play with it/nibble it. But once I got it on and buckled she was ok! She didn’t flop, or lay down, but she walked funny for a few seconds. She seemed to forget about it once I showed her a Churu treat. She even climbed her cat tree and laid down to look out the window for a few minutes with it on. I have to figure out the best fit/adjustment still. We’ll keep practicing until I’m sure she’s comfortable and we have the sizing right! Then we’ll try adding the leash. Thanks for making cat specific products! 👏🏽🙌🏽🐱
I'd love to use this, but when I put it on my cat, she starts limping. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How can I stop the harness from restraining her?
I've been watching a lot of your videos and teaching my cat Balake all the tricks so far and he's managed to learn a lot of them now. I've yet to teach him how to walk on a leash. I've been looking into a lot of harnesses but they are badly designed and don't trust my cat with it. This harness seems to be designed really well. Just placed an order for one and looking forward to training my cat how to get use to a leash indoor first with it. Thank you!
Just ordered. This looks like a perfect balance between comfort and safety. My cat's girth is 16.5" and your harness says up to 16". Hope it still fits!
I have a 17lb longhair that is adventurous but hates the harness I currently have (belonged to my old, smaller cat, and I think it digs into his armpits too much). He's a strong boy who is afraid to go outside when he's harnessed noticibly, so it's hard to find one that works for him. This looks excellent and nice and minimal, but I'm out of a job right now, unfortunately, so I'm kind of strapped for cash. I wish you had an option for just the harness without the leash, since I have a leash myself and it would save money T~T I am a little bit worried though, since I see a few of the reviews saying that the adjustment slider things tend to stop working properly after a while and become too loose, and that the neck can be loosened if they really work on it, so that's my main concern, cuz unfortunately a lot of the chonk on my cat is muscle.
Got enough saved to get it, and I think he likes it better than his other one cuz he can lay down while I put it on him. He pitches less of a fit when he has to wear it. So far, my only complaint is that the large is actually *too* big for him and the straps on the sides are still quite loose. Still, I'd rather that than have them be too tight. We'll see how he does outside next time we visit his playmates. Oh, also, it kinda smells like a tire store o.O
What kind of leash do you use? We use a piece of rope, but it is not so usefull when walking. And the dog retractable leashes are for more heavier animals.
I’d love to buy this for my Maine Coon but not sure if it would be big enough as he’s a big boy. Looks like an awesome harness! Have you considered making these in a few different sizes?
Hello! Today I only have for medium and small cats but I am working on a big cats version with reinforced stitching and a bigger chest pad. Main coons can be VERY big, but the new Large should be good for any cat under 20lbs. How big is your boy?

We have no problems putting on a harness but it seems its not very comfortable, she doesnt want move that much. Is there anything I can do besides purchasing your harness because its sadly not available on german amazon.. or maybe any reccomendations for similar harnesses?
Hi! I recently got a 6 month old bengal. Would you recommend I get this harness now or should I wait until he’s a year old? He’s a big cat for his age, so I’m guessing he’s gonna grow a lot more.
Probably there's a handling issue. This harness is probably the safest harness out there, but if your cat keeps escaping, consider reading this article instead
I started training Mia when she was 12weeks old. I started with some easy tricks like come when called and finger targetting and got to more complex tricks once she was comfortable with those. You can find more about it in this video: th-cam.com/video/YxxCqtJ93zU/w-d-xo.html
I see that some people let their cat outside with no harness or leash.... do you know how they do it? Do they take a big risk of the cat not coming back?
Cats know areas and know where food and shelter is. Unless they’re taken by a human or run into a predator, they’ll be back because they know their home. Some geographic regions have higher rates of predators (like coyotes or cougars) and in that case it would be a very bad idea to let your cat outside. But other areas just don’t have those predators, so cats are safe.
Cats tend to come back on their own, but life expectancy of outdoor cats is between 2 and 5 years because of cars and predators. Ideally, you want to take your cat out only on a leash! Also, cats kill birds and other animals creating an environment problem!

Hello! Thank you for your interest. The harness sizes work by girth, not by weight. Current sizes are suitable for cats with up to 20inches of girth around the chest. We are working on a larger version for very big cats.
I have 5 month old bengal kitten. I went first time with her outside, calm grass area, but very open. First she was going good, then suddenly she started jumping like a roe deer. Must have hurt her when the leash ended lol. Luckily i managed to keep her in the harness and we tried again. Same thing. Back to inside with her. Much easier with my regular cat. Ordered this harness, kitten and adult version. Not sure how long it takes till she is full sized one. My old harness has those collar types around the neck and stomach.
A lot of reviews saying the plastic pieces break within a week to a few months. I feel like this is something that could be fixed with the use of metal instead of plastic. I may order one but I will keep researching for others
The plastic doesn’t break anymore. Those are old units sold 2 years ago. ☺️ Even now, if someone were to complain about their 2 year old unit, we would replace their unit a new harness free of charge.
@@OutdoorBengal I eventually got it ordered from Amazon and I've tried it a few times now. After having tried a lot of different types of harnesses I was really hoping this would provide me with both the confort and security I was hoping for. Sadly, both me and the cat ended up disappointed. My cat continuously stops to raise his front legs and licks himself close to the base of his front legs where the straps go in to his armpits and later gets connected to the back. He has similar behavior with problem areas on other harnesses so it's easy to interpretate. I have tried a number of different adjustments but the fact is that the harness wont lie flatt against his body underneath the arms because of the way it is connected and therefor creates unconfort and friction as soon as he starts walking. In addition there are two plastic adjustment buckles that also stay close his armpits that ad to the problem. Our walks take a lot longer now due to the added stops. I'm a big fan of your videos but I'm sorry to say that this was just a waist of my money.
Is your Bengal cat a boy or girl? Do you have a video on the differences between male and female? Do you think a male does better outdoor as it likes to explore more for mating and the females like to find safe places for their kittens as instinct.
Hello! That's a great question! While male are more territorial, both male and female like wondering. It's all about the training and the habituation. Take a look at this article about Male Cats vs. Female Cats: www.outdoorbengal.com/blogs/cat-advice/female-cat-vs-male-cat
my cats chest girth is 13 inchess so i bought the medium size the harness needs to be as tight as possible and is still a bit to lose imo. a non biased review would've been better either way I should've done more research and didn't realize the review was from the maker itself. Thats on me. but with that in mind the harness worked great we tested it today but for 30$ is a crazy price for a few straps and a few metal rings and a pad and some clasps.
Hey!! I'm Albert. The harness is lightweight because that's what your cat needs. The cost comes from the thought that went into making a harness that will give you peace of mind and your cat the freedom of movement they need. If the harness it's too big, send me a message at albert@outdoorbengal.com, I'll change the size free of charge. I really hope you try this harness, I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do! :)
On this harness it's going to be hard, but it would be great to have a harness that allows cat parents to modify it depending on needs. Add a little bag for a GPS, floating device or light for night walks... I'm thinking about how it would work... Thanks for the idea!
The sizes I have available today are too small for an adult maine coon, but I´m working on a large size that will be available in like a month or so... sorry for the inconvenience... maine coons are just sooo big!
I received a message on your TH-cam to cancel the order for your escape proof harness on Amazon and order it from your website. I have prime with amazon and I don't have to pay for shipping. On your website I need to pay shipping. Please explain why you told me to cancel my order on Amazon?
hey! Makes total sense. You can reorder on Amazon. The problem was that the first orders were made on a wrong code that Amazon can't ship. If you cancel and reorder, you will automatically get the order on the right code. No need to order on my website. Just cancel and reorder on Amazon. I hope this makes sense!
I wished our kitten would sit ad still as Mia when putting on the harness How can I purchase one here in the UK? using the link in the video description, the shipping costs are extortionate for just a cat harness
This is the only harness out of which my cat cannot wriggle. BUT, it needs to be tight enough around the neck otherwise he does escape. If tight enough, he does not escape.
Cats react to our commands because there's an expectation of a treat. If you never reward a behavior outside a training session, the expectation of a treat outside the training session is non-existant and thus, there's no motivation to comply. My recommendation is to reward intermitently outside sessions. Not always, but sometimes. This will increase the expectation. Intermitent reinforcement is a very strong motivator (think about gambling and casinos) hope this helps!
Hey! This is good to know! First case I’ve heard of! Would you mind sharing your experience with me? Would love to both help you and find ways to keep making this harness even better! Please, send me a message using this link: www.outdoorbengal.com/pages/about-us
Unfortunately, we live in the city centre. We used to walk on a leash, but there are too many dog owners who can't handle them and lead them without a leash. That's why we had to stop walking.
Albert, we live in the Czech Republic. According to the rules, people should keep their dogs on a leash, but nobody follows these rules. In fact, there are no parks here where we don't meet at least three dogs during a walk. Once a dog owner shouted at me why I was there, that the place was "theirs" because she was walking her dog there. But it was a public space for everyone.
@@martinarynesova4052have you ever considered a cat backpack or a pet stroller? Strollers and backpacks have leash attachments inside that you can attach to your cat's harness. I have a stroller (had it for years) and I just ordered the "navigator cat backpack" for my cat. When I take my cat out in her stroller, I also keep an automatic umbrella under the stroller (that quickly opens at the push of a button) if I need to scare anything away. I also opened the umbrella in the apartment with my cat so that she gets used to the visuals and the sound and doesnt get scared.🐱🌂

Is there an alternate way to order this with out using Amazon? I'm based in Norway?
Hello! I also sell it via my website (www.outdoorbengal.com) but currently I’m out of stock.
When I order on amazon, it is already pre-selected for kitten. How do you change to a bigger size in the order? ☺️
hello! It was out of stock! If you try it now, you will be able to get the Medium! Just restocked them! :)
@@OutdoorBengal Okey!! Thank you ❤️
Is your Bengal cat a boy or girl? Do you have a video on the differences between male and female? Do you think a male does better outdoor as it likes to explore more for mating and the females like to find safe places for their kittens as instinct.
Hello! That's a great question! While male are more territorial, both male and female like wondering. It's all about the training and the habituation.
Take a look at this article about Male Cats vs. Female Cats:
www.outdoorbengal.com/blogs/cat-advice/female-cat-vs-male-cat
my cats chest girth is 13 inchess so i bought the medium size the harness needs to be as tight as possible and is still a bit to lose imo. a non biased review would've been better either way I should've done more research and didn't realize the review was from the maker itself.
Add floating device; one which keeps them upright.
On this harness it's going to be hard, but it would be great to have a harness that allows cat parents to modify it depending on needs. Add a little bag for a GPS, floating device or light for night walks... I'm thinking about how it would work...
Thanks for the idea!
My cat don’t like nothing around her neck she escaped from every harness I put on her she even tried to bite me when we tried to put it on her
Can you sell on Amazon India
If you order on www.amazon.com, you can choose to ship to India.
Does it suit for mainecoon
The sizes I have available today are too small for an adult maine coon, but I´m working on a large size that will be available in like a month or so... sorry for the inconvenience... maine coons are just sooo big!
@@OutdoorBengal let me know when it available, thanks in advance🙏🏼
@@OutdoorBengal Well i guess i will order another one once it get too small, MC can probably wear the current one until 6-7 months old.
@@OutdoorBengaldo you mind to make a video comparison between petsafe cat harness & outdoorbengal cat harness..
Hi! Favorite cat treats link is not working, can you please check? others are ok
Can it be use for normal cat ,, Exotic cat
Absolutely! Check for your cats dimensions before choosing what size to order for a perfect fit!
I wished our kitten would sit ad still as Mia when putting on the harness
How can I purchase one here in the UK?
using the link in the video description, the shipping costs are extortionate for just a cat harness
Hello!! You can get it on www.amazon.com but they'll ask you for shipping fees. it's horrific... I have no solution for it though...
This is the only harness out of which my cat cannot wriggle. BUT, it needs to be tight enough around the neck otherwise he does escape. If tight enough, he does not escape.
How did I miss this?
Do you think this would work on a cat with only one front leg
Hello! it has not designed with cats with 1 front leg. I believe it would not work. I believe an H-type harness would work best in that case.
@@OutdoorBengal thanks 😊
The only reason I'm watching this is because it's so difficult to catch her once the 3 hours outdoor yard time is over.
Do you think this would be big enough for a mainecoon
The large one, absolutely! amzn.to/3LnNqZ8
I bought this and my cat just slips right out of it 😭 is there a guide to properly put it on
hello! There is one! Please, write us at www.outdoorbengal.com and we'll send you the manual to prevent escapes.
My bengal is 9 months old
:)
I'd love one please
Her name is Nahla
Such a good name
"there are almost no predators" lol just ignore the Wild dog and the mountain lion.
In the pyrinees! If you are in the US, that's a different story!
We are Spanish that is why we put this name
Love it!
Theseasonorg explains the whole bible God bless
💛
If you tell a cat to do trick that isn't during training, do I still have to give a treat to the cat.
Ahaha... my cat just escaped from this... am i putting it on correctly?
That's a big issue... it can get dangerous with off-leash dogs. Have you tried going to parks or places without dogs?
Albert, we live in the Czech Republic. According to the rules, people should keep their dogs on a leash, but nobody follows these rules. In fact, there are no parks here where we don't meet at least three dogs during a walk. Once a dog owner shouted at me why I was there, that the place was "theirs" because she was walking her dog there. But it was a public space for everyone.
I actually find people who walk their dogs without leash as selfish. Do people actually think dog and cats have same jaw and teeth. God.
Too bad you can't buy in Europe without paying a huge shipping fee.
AUD$63!? No thanks.
