Your heart of compassion is what Jesus wants all of us to be! Jesus would not be a Republican or Democrat. It has been Westernized in our culture and people do not realize it. We are to be what Jesus taught us and nothing else. It must be so hard for you to be a Pastor in this time, but what you are saying and thinking is from the Holy Spirit and is right on target. Stay Strong with your convictions from your heart and what you just told us in your sermon. I knew your father as my pastor in the 80's and He would be saying exactly what you are telling us.
