The town of Ladysmith looks considerably bigger than when I did my national service there a long time ago. I can remember how cold it was in mid-winter. Brings back lots of memories...not all of them good! Nambiti looks very nice and very green.
We did not visit Ladysmith, only from the airport directly to Nambiti 🤣. There's a lot of history in that region. There's still an airfield Battlefields near Dundee on my list to visit to learn about the boerenoorlog. But I didn´t succeed in getting in contact with them. Nambiti was beautiful with its rolling green hills. One of the few private Game reserves where animals are not hunted for ecological balance. As a result, naturally nervous animals such as warthogs and kudu were much calmer and stayed close to the vehicle.
@FrederikClaessens Yes, there is a lot of history in that area. Majuba is another place of interest. I have ancestral links to people from both sides of the wars! Interesting that Nambiti doesn't cull. I wonder how they keep numbers under control, but it's lovely for visitors that the animals are so fearless.

Yeah they use another technique to remove animals. Our driver explained but now I'm also wondering how... anoying.
We’ve booked travel to Rwanda and Botswana in July. Yippee!
