As a Pastor, I would propose that this is a great example of why we should never just embrace or accept a Pastor's words without testing them in light of a personal reading of God's Word. I worry that many people listening to this kind of sermon would soak this up and live it out without actually questioning it, simply because of a culture of trusting people elevated to positions of leadership. Thank you Pastor Mike for the reasoned and Biblical breakdown.
I often face the secondhand result of similar horribly bad preaching in TH-cam comment sections multiple times in a day. Someone badly misquotes a verse entirely out of context and states that their pastor or some other pastor they credit taught them that. Sometimes it is a pope. Often reading one or two verses either direction points out the insanity of the misinterpretation. and often the pastor involved is of mega-church status. The quality of teaching today is abysmal.
Sadly many Christians have no interest in reading and studying the Bible. Bible illiteracy leads to being led astray. I know people who have been Christians for 30+ years who have never read the entire bible.
@@ahandfuloffun While reading the entire Bible is certainly helpful it is not required in order to spot error like this. Read at least one Gospel and the Book of Acts. Read Paul's letters - they are full of answers to bad doctrine. For any "proof text" that anyone tries to use to prove anything read it in context - that whole paragraph and the one before and after to see if it still means what they said it meant. Not that hard to do.
I came to Christ at 45 (now I’m 50). I have struggled with reading the Bible. I would have given up were it not for your channel. Thank you for highlighting the Biblical wisdom that I would have missed.
Made me used to wonder why God sent the wrong christians by early to keep my immatured mind from being warped by Fake christians. Or the attempt of christians who are severely failing. Now, I have been eyes opened. Reading the bible over and over keeps unlocking more and more truths that cant be told in words... It HAS to be LIVED. Christ is the way, And he as the good shepard has he is has lead to you him.
Please look up Les Feldick. He’s an amazing teacher especially with dispensation. Everything clicked once I learned that the Old Testament is Jew only.
So true. I always tell people that you can read the Bible all the way through over 10 times but without proper hermeneutics and exegetical study led by the Holy Spirit, you won't understand.
My friend had a high risk pregnancy (she's a Christian). The placenta was attaching to scar tissue on the uterine wall from a prior c-section birth. The doctor informed her that if she went through with the pregnancy she would surely die along with her baby. The doctor told her that she must have an abortion if she wanted to live. She literally blacked out after hearing this news. Through much prayer, God gave her this exact verse in Deuteronomy referenced in the video. The doctor cursed her and said she would die if she decided to carry out the pregnancy. She chose LIFE and decided to carry out the pregnancy. She and her baby are doing fine! This pastor is taking the verse out of context.
It's a major relief to know both the mother and baby are doing fine; but it doesn't negate that it could have very likely turned tragic. As an atheist who was formerly a devout Christian, I would advise only sharing this story with fellow believers. If you were to share it with nonbelievers who were kinda like me, you just might end up making them even more thankful to be atheists and more ashamed that they ever called themselves Christian. Comments like this are just one of the many, many reasons Christianity is so harmful.
@@nicholemoore2448 what??? harmful??? How is my comment harmful? The only reason you think it's harmful, is because you don't believe in God, therefore you find it offensive. Is it possible that your comment is harmful🤔 to us Christians??
@@nicholemoore2448 I am sorry to hear that you left Christianity. People don't seem to understand that God gives all of us choices everyday. It is our choice to choose Him or not. GOD didn't force you to stay a Christian... it was a choice. Please don't allow zealous Christians without knowledge shape your opinion of Christ. False teaching of Jesus turned so many from Christ. They only give a partial truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it leaves people empty. I hope you don't mind if I remember you in prayer.
Thank for this and hallelujah to our Lord. We must trust in the Lord and follow his direction. No matter how hard it is and even if we don’t understand it. Sometimes we just have to do it. And I have learned this through others like this testimony.
Oh yeah, God is pro choice, but he wants you to choose Him, not the worldly view of pro choice. God is pro consequence, too. He already gave us the consequences for false teaching like that guy's teaching. Thanks pastor Mike for what you do!
You could even make the argument that God is both pro life and pro choice. He gave us freedom of choice, but he expects to make choices that will eventually lead to everlasting life with him.
@@jayJ857 yes. I definitely see that, too. We should be careful with it, though. I worry if people will only see/hear, "God is pro life and pro choice," and try to generalize the statement.
@@TrentP87 i understand. Thats why i gave context to my statement. But lets be honest here. People nowadays take clear cut facts and still try to twist it to fit their emotional ideals
@@jayJ857 I would not say that God is pro "killing innocent humans". When you say words like "pro-choice" you have to understand the connotations of that. All "pro-choice" means, in the context of politics and modern culture, is the ability to kill your unborn child consequence free.
@@TrentP87 That's why "pro choice" is a misnomer. The opposite of "pro life," which is the default choice, is really "pro abortion" (or pro death), but liberals are experts at manipulating language. I refuse to call pro abortion "pro choice." Pro life is the Godly choice. Pro abortion is choosing murder.
What a disgrace. That guy needs to be deathly afraid: James 3:1 says, “Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”
Agreed but when are Protestant Christians going to say "Enoiugh!" and run theses phonies out of Christian pulpits. We ARE our brother's keepers. It is our business as part of the Body of Christ. If we wait for others to do something, evil wins.
@@johnbreitmeier3268 agreed. I grew up in a protestant church but what I see now is pastors that are careless with their use of Scripture. Who decide what they want to say and then cherry pick verses out of context rather then seeing what the bible actually says.
@@johnbreitmeier3268 If those pastors are setting up their own churches and congregations how can you run them out of their pulpits? They are their own authority and its impossible to run them out.

There was a time when they ran Joseph Smith's Mormons out of town after town.
Yeah. My FORMER pastor, who was angling for a position in the NAACP used to push things like this. Some people are culture driven EVEN WHEN it goes against the Kingdom of God.
I was taught that when you take "text" out of context, all you're left with is the con! I so appreciate you Mike, in the way you are teaching people to examine the scriptures.
I can choose everday whether or not i want to do something that is against the law. I can choose to rob the bank i drive past everyday. I can choose to beat up the person I can't stand at my job. I can choose to break into someones house and steal their stuff. Those choices will have consequences, and the consequence is me going to jail, paying a fine, doing community service, or ending up on probation. In life God gave us freedom of choice but there is consequences to the path we choose to walk.....this really isn't that hard to comprehend
Even what the pastor said was “Choose life…” Yes, God wants people to choose life…so, He’s Pro-choose life, not pro-choose-life-or-death-whatever-you-choose-is-fine.
Right? I found it funny how he laid no emphasis to the 'death' part of that verse. 'Choose life and you shall live' ... See? God is pro-choice. Got a whiplash from that summary. 😂
Please do more of these!!! Preaching has gotten so dangerous in this country… I had to pass and inspect at least 10 churches in my area in a suburb of Atlanta to find biblical teaching.. context needs to be reinstalled… it challenges the very essence of someone’s salvation.. Love your ministry Mike
You should check out Saved to Serve in Marietta. It’s very Biblical based and also excellent on Bible prophecy. Also it’s not a 501c3 church! Praise Jesus!
We've had the same issue finding a church in MS. If it's not legalism it's progressive ideology. We've just started having Bible Study at home with a trusted pastor from a previous move.
I live just outside of Atlanta. There are a lot of churches there that stress the importance of being saved without ever telling you what you're being saved from., because that's a sermon most folks don't want to hear. A small scripture based church that focuses on winning souls to Christ and service is a good start. You might make friends that tell you what you may need not just what you want to hear. God bless.
I have followed your channel for about six months and I think it is very informative. I really enjoy the 20 Questions episodes, how you go to Scripture ( and encourage everyone listening as well) as you tackle the difficult questions. Mike I appreciate how you confronted this teaching from this senior minister. I live in a blue state and ever since last Fridays ruling our local media has been totally one sided on this issue, promoting any and all pro choices arguments and bending over backward to misinterpret the pro life position, and the Supreme Court ruling. I also heard an interview by another pro choice minister in our area, who twisted the Bible to support his position. Many celebrities as well as social media influencers have rushed to denounce the ruling which of course makes it more difficult for the parents of teens and young adults to have a truthful discussion about the pro life position. Thank you so much Mike for calling this minister out and expressing what this passage actually means and what the Bible says about life.
I saw a sermon from a pastor in my denomination that was saying the same thing. Immediately I said I would never watch him again, and I’m so ashamed of him being associated with my church. Satan is deceiving these supposed “men of God”. I’m so glad you brought attention to this falsehood. Also the pastor I saw was saying that the Bible had an abortion in it and therefore women can choose it.
That's right. We have to read the Bible ourselves and not be depending on pastors to teach us because they aren't qualified and they don't care about souls, they want money and popularity.
We all need wisdom and discernment precious one, and if we ask Holy Spirit… every day, look for His guidance and listen to His teaching (the Bible) He will guide us… we don’t need to follow a man… God can teach us directly…. He wants a relationship with us as individuals but He wants us also to come together as worshipers and to help one another… God loves you and He wants to teach you!
2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
@Mary Wells, There are certainly many pastors that are not that wise in their understanding of scripture and even worse when teaching it. They will have particularly harsh punishment James says. But while we have those bad pastors we have Pastor Mike W. right here at the same time speaking the truth. And the one thing that I like about Pastor Mike W. Is that he does encourage people to read their Bibles on their own. Honestly any good pastor does that and I know many pastors that do that and are qualified. What needs to happen is believers need to seek out those kind of pastors.
I turned down a job offer from Rev. Cheryl Lindsay who I saw in a breitbart video collage of all these pastors who are pro choice. I was so deeply upset. That job would have been great for me and I was going to be able to take my children. Very low pay like not a livable wage by any means, but the extra money was very needed. My heart is broken I can’t believe any pastor could advocate for abortion.
Really appreciate this video. Recently encountered a pastor whilst trying to find a new church in town who did a very similar sermon and it was extremely unnerving. Many verses out of context and preached in an almost combative and entirely political way.
I always appreciate how your critiques of other teaching grants the possibility of positive intent, while still critically engaging the teaching in question.
A verse that literally says "Therefore choose life..." In the hand of a pastor is preached as "God wants you to choose to terminate life" 🥺 I never thought the twisting of the Word of God can be this bad
If anything, this gives a greater significance to being "Pro-Life." In this context (and throughout the Bible), "life" is associated with following God and being blessed through that obedience to his word. Just like today: accept Jesus as your Lord and be granted eternal life. Who wants to be "pro-choice" when that means embracing death? Sadly too many people believe that's a blessing.
I my opinion that's not what he is saying. What he is saying that you have the right to CHOOSE to terminate that baby,BUT YOU WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES FROM THE LORD FOR KILLING HIS INNOCENT.
@@sonoftheday8249 Yeah just like you can choose to rob a bank. But the saying Pro-choice used in America culture and the meaning behind is not what God is. Just like God can agree and will agree with the saying black lives matter, but he doesn't agree with the black lives matter organization and the riots that comes with it. What the pastor is saying is that God is pro-choice so in since he's pro-abortion, at least that's what the pro-abortionist will take it as.
“God gives us choices, therefore God is pro-choice.” God also cares what choices we make and has specific commandments for how to make those choices and consequences for making the right and wrong choices. This pastor is a false teacher. And I hope when I reach full time ministry that I can help put this guy out of work.
Yep. The vary verse he used says “choose life” but he focused on the “choose” part. It is an instruction to choose life even though death is offered to you. What is even more silly is that this isn’t even speaking of anything similar to abortion or our right to choose who lives and dies. It is referring to your spiritual life and that of your house. To choose life is to choose God and through you, light may shine on your children. In fact, it even specifies “life or death, blessing or curse”. Even if you want to make it an abortion argument, it concludes that you should choose life so you and your seed may live.
Thank you for doing this. It’s sickening to think that this man is quite literally potentially dragging his congregation into hell with him and his false teachings/abuse of scripture. I’m trying to wrap my head around why no one in that congregation stood up and said something. Why that young man playing guitar behind him didn’t stop and walk out the moment his “pastor” claimed that God is “pro-choice” in the context of abortion legislation. I lead worship at the church I attend, and if something so blatantly heretical came out of my pastor’s mouth (which I’m sure would never happen) I would stop the service, call out the false teaching for the evil that it is and encourage all in attendance to find a new place of worship rather than sit under that teaching for another second.

All black pastors preach well/passionately. Honestly, who cares? It doesn’t matter if it’s not biblical teaching. It’s exhausting, disheartening, and so frustrating. I hate seeing stuff like this. These people want their congregations, who are usually majority black as well, to make their ethnic identity the most important identity in their lives instead of their identity in Christ. They push doctrines of demons and bow down to political ideologies that are pure evil! People who share my ethnic identity really need to wake up.
There is a severe disconnect between African-American Conservatives in their theology and their politics. When the theology is Left then the politics match and that is understandable, good theology and bad politics has always puzzled me.
BRUHHHH my dad literally didn’t support me going to the church I’m going to because it wasn’t mostly black. Yet every time I’m there they treat me like family AND they’re Bible based. I’m not here for my own agenda. I’m here for GOD’s agenda. We have bigger problems to fry like getting to Heaven, not making sure laws get passed for “our people” so sick of that. Most people need to get off their butts anyway and stop acting like everything is a race issue but nobody wants to hear that do they? 🙄
Yes! I recently had to unfollow relationship coach Tony Gaskins for this very thing! It was appalling to see him as a professing Christian twist the outcome of Roe v. If he’s a pastor here in Seattle (I’m in WA State too) then it makes perfect sense why this pastor is saying this. The churches here are woke. We have a church here where I live that has a rainbow flag flying on the front of the church, but no where is there a Christian flag flying or even an American flag flying. It’s sad that Christians did not stand up and fight when the LGBTQIA+ took the rainbow (God’s promise to His people) as their symbol. Christians have stayed silent for way too long on important matters regarding life of infants, sexuality, defining marriage, etc. No one wants to be labeled as “judging”, bigots, haters, etc. And now here we are in society. Christians should not even be divided on these very important subjects, but yet they are. We have allowed this to happen by remaining silent. So it should be no surprise to anyone that this pastor here in woke Seattle is preaching this incorrectly. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Ermm.....yea, I'm pretty sure that pastor knew exactly what he was doing when he twisted the Scriptures to fit his own political leanings. You give him too much credit. Teachers of the Word like him are going to be in for a huge surprise when they come face to face with the Lord on Judgment Day.
Agreed. People are not this stupid. He spent zero time analyzing an argument and just googled the word 'choice' in the bible so he could make a sermon to fit a death cult narrative.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

I really like this format. I enjoy your hour-plus, researched presentations, but I understand most people can't sit for that long. This was long enough to get into details, yet remain punchy and quick. Also, it's extremely relevant to current events. I wish the church was more willing to engage in this way
Yet, a lot of “Christians” can binge-watch all kinds of things. We must discipline(disciples)ourselves and seek first the kingdom of God. We should feed on His Word and taste and see that He is good. We must allow the Holy Spirit to change our appetites to want to know the Word of God above all else! “My people perish from lack of knowledge”.
Brrrayday: I would assert that many Christians will not sit long enough to read scripture. If they did, they would recognize false teaching, immediately. I never assert a pastor's " intentions." Please Mike stop inserting pastor " intention," into the argument. Intention is irrelevant. Statements by pastors are either true or false. And when you make statements about a teacher's intention, you are suggesting that we should feel a certain way about the pastor. Please stop doing that as it delutes the strength of your sound argument, by suggesting that our feelings about the pastor are an issue.
@@melissaculpepper7663 Hear! Hear! Great and prescient point. The great thing about the availability of such content on the internet is that it's so easy to access anywhere. One can listen to it on the way to work and back, or with headphones while running errands, etc. It can be in small or medium sized chunks, not always hours at a time. This "pastor" said that he wishes that he had more Bible readers in the congregation. If he had more people in the congregation that were Bible readers, plus people who actually understood what they were reading he might well be out of a job.
Even granting the pastor's argument, the best you could say is that abortion is still murder but God lets us choose to kill the innocent or not, and will judge us accordingly.
If my husband and I were sitting in this pastor’s church, we would’ve walked out because the first words out of his mouth declared God is double-minded. 😳
He wishes there were more Bible readers in the building, and yet there isn’t a single person on the stage who knows how to rightly divide the Word of truth.
This is so funny. I was just making T-shirts with that phrase, "God is pro choice", with that very verse on them, to make a point about God's protection and promotion of life and the consequences of death and curses in our bad choices. I didn't really think there was such a foolish perspective that could take it the opposite way. We don't even need context for this one. The verse itself gives enough context to make it clear. Wow.

10:00 Interestingly, there has been an archaeological find this year that verifies this story -- they actually found an ancient curse tablet on Mount Ebal, a bronze-age lead tablet with proto-hebraic writing on it. The curse is a chiasmic poem which includes the Hebrew name of God (the earliest known attestation of God's name). It has some interesting numerology, too. Apparently, the letters they wrote in the curse also use numbers to spell out the name of the tribe that dedicated the curse tablet. The proto-Hebrew letters prove that they had a writing system at the time of Joshua, too, which lends credence to the Mosaic authorship of the Torah- or at the very least, that the Torah was written at around that time, rather than the much later date assumed my conventional scholarship. Finally, it proves the ancient Israelites were devoted to God, and were not Pagan polytheists. It's still a very new find, and in fact it is still being peer-reviewed, so it's important to take all of this with a grain of salt until more study has been conducted. That being said, if the tablets are authentic and the interpretation of the writing is correct, then it's a really major archaeological vindication of scripture. Seeing as the overwhelming pattern of archaeology is to vindicate scripture that was being doubted by "scholars", I am willing to bet on this one, too.

I heard a pastor speak on how we handle this as an individual of a church. A lot of the comment are mentioning abandoning their church or pastor because they were wrong, false, etc. I don't believe this is the answer. As professing Christians we need to have the God-given courage David had to stand up to the elders of the church as well as the pastors and proclaim the truth. To stand for biblical soundness in our church communities. Church isn't about us being served as individuals, it's about creating a strong community of believers rooted in absolute truth so the Lord can do his work through us. I'm just trying to encourage people if they feel like they need to leave there churches for issues on this, ask God for courage and wisdom to go to your leaders and confront what you have concerns about! Out of love for the other followers who aren't so aware that they're being lead astray, if only just for them, stand for truth yall!
I agree in part...however this is a pretty big "blunder" I have to wonder where the foundation of this "Church" really is. If he butchered this verse that badly I would be very scared of what sort of doctrine came from that pulpit.
What if people do that for years and folks don't want you there anymore and it isn't getting better? Some of you haven't been there. Some of you haven't had 2 men at one church preach against you, specifically, from the pulpit, but not calling out sin in the church.
I would normally agree but this isn’t a small disagreement on theology. This is a man that does not belong in a pulpit and a church I would leave immediately.
You should do a daily Bible reading and go through the Bible in context. Starting from the beginning, verse by verse. Thank you for you videos, the breakdown, the understanding, and the compassion towards those you are clarifying. 🙏🏼
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.” Ephesians 4:13-14 NLT The term “pro-choice” just needs to be ignored - its cleverly worded to point away from the real issue - purposely killing unborn children in the womb. That’s as much of a “choice” as murdering your other children outside the womb. - it’s evil and will be judged by God. That’s why we can’t bend on truth. The truth of the gospel was given to set them free and save them - not to win an argument. If we don’t give them the unfiltered truth of God’s Word - how else will they be saved?? Let’s not “agree to disagree”, Let’s speak the truth in love for Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. Amen!
I don’t know why this needs to be analyzed. The text literally says “there’s two options, choose THIS one”. How do you reach the conclusion it says “pick whatever”?
I was thinking the exact same thing...even in the context of what Mr. Thomas is saying the verse still turns against him. God is literally telling you that IF YOU CHOSE THAT PATH YOU WILL BE CURSED AND DIE.
It's so strange that now we hear "I'm not going to legislate it for you" but this HAS been the case for the last few decades! Did the passage being legislated previously, change our understanding of this verse now, that the legislation isn't as enforceable as before?! No! Of course not! God's Word is forever - reading full chapters for context and studying alongside Concordances is KEY x
Well said brother Mike, unfortunately people do not read verses in context and the bible tells us to do so. “Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Those weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; for with stammering lips and another language He will speak to this people.” (Isa 28:9-11) We must read scripture in context with precepts in mind or we have no chance of understanding God. May Almighty God bless you all in Christ name.
As children of God, let's come together and PRAY for this pastor, because the Father is going to hold him to a MUCH higher standard. God will not be mocked, and He will certainly judge this pastor for leading His (God's) flock astray. He needs God's merciful intervention!
So, it sounds like he is saying laws should allow for abortion so it allows people to obey God by CHOOSING life. Does that mean the law should allow murder and theft so people can choose to obey God by not stealing or murdering people? How does that make any logical sense? We’d get to a point of no laws and just letting people choose to follow God or not…
Oh. My. Goodness. This "pastor" who thinks God is pro-choice can't read an entire sentence, let alone the Bible. The passage is about leadership of Israel choosing to follow God's Word: it has zero to do with personal decisions to murder innocent life. . Yikes....how messed up is the rest of his "teaching?"
If that’s the argument you’re making, then you’re saying that there should be NO laws prohibiting bad behaviors because everyone should be able to choose what they do and we should just hope they choose to do the right thing. It’s gross
I live in Seattle just saw this video went to their website. Asked for a prayer request to pray for Mike. And that God would forgive him for leading his flock astray.
We see this with Raphael Warnick too. It makes me wonder do the people not think for themselves? I’m deeply prolife but I guarantee if I did a pro choice sermon my church would not stand for it. I would probably be rebuked on the spot. It would be so destructive to our body.
Pro Choice doesn’t mean pro abortion, do you personally know Rev Raphael Warnick? He may not agree with abortion personally but doesn’t force his beliefs on others. I know he is in favor of better healthcare for women because Black women in particular has the high death rate while giving birth. I’m sure he is also for improving the wellbeing of his constituents, by doing so would lower the abortion rate. I.e. better healthcare and education to name a few. To any reading: stay in God's Word. When you see someone purposefully omit part of the passage, there's two reasons: -Brevity -Deception If brevity, they have a point either unrelated to the omitted point, or their point is already established sufficiently and they want to reduce how much they have to say. If it's not brevity, but rather deception, then omitted section may question their conclusion. In this case, when Mr. Thomas here replaced 'blessing and cursing' with a little diatribe about 'God not choosing for you', it's deception. Note: that deception doesn't necessarily mean 'intentional deception.' It can mean negligence, or that the person deceiving was legitimately deceived themselves, too. Nonetheless, however well-intentioned someone may be, actions always have consequences - and not all consequences line up with what someone intended. This is why preparation and care are important: you can't just 'hope for the best' and skip your research. And when it comes Mr. Thomas saying that he wished there were Bible readers in his audience, he seemed to be making a claim he had read the passage himself - which, to me, highly points towards his action either being the product of intentional deception or massive, crippling blindness towards what God was saying in His Word. Neither of these conclusions are things you want in a teacher. ==== Keep up the good work, Mike (Winger, to be clear, since there's two Mikes in the vid): thanks for what you do!
I hear this verse in my head more and more listening to some of these preachers 21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
When I say I'm pro-choice. I'm using my definition not the world's definition. See I'm all about that baby getting a choice whether he wants to live or not. And since he/she can't answer that, I'm going to allow that kid to grow to the point to where he/she can answer it. You can't call yourself pro-choice and yet at the same time take the choice away from other people. They want to say that unborn child isn't a people yet but it definitely is. I'm pro-life and pro-choice. Give that unborn child a choice. give that unborn child life.
I’m also pro-choice. If you choose to abstain from sex, then you’re choosing not to risk bringing a new life into this world. If you choose to have sex, protected or unprotected, then you’re choosing to risk potentially bringing new life into this world.
@@wayoftheinspiredword2825 yeah this Mass genocide of babies is extremely sad and sickens me that people support it. It's the pro lifers who are actually pro-choice. Jesus all the way
@Rabbit's Revenge yes, I'm glad people don't freely have the choice to straight up murder people. What they did is allowed those children the choice to live.
@Rabbit's Revenge Prefix pro- definition: an argument in favor of. I am pro-life and pro-choice. I am arguing that EVERYONE has the CHOICE to LIFE. Everyone who claims to be "pro-choice" is not for EVERYONE getting a choice. But they are in fact only pro-abortion. Someone telling someone else they can't freely murder someone else shouldn't be seen as someone taking someone else's choice. The act of murder itself is what is taking away someone's choice away.

Oh, I 'wish' I had some "bible readers" in the building. I'm so sick of condescending "pastors" targeting people from the pulpit. Cherry picking scriptures, out of context to make their case for a horrible wrong doctrine they "feel" strongly about. I was in a church for a year and never head the gospel once. It was all "messages" about disunity and things but it was the guy talking that was the problem. The turnover in that building was astonishing. I heard the "worship leader" who was riffing while playing some chord sequence where he would tell us all what he 'believes' and it was mind warping. Apparently the HOLY SPIRIT is a 'frightened little child' that we have to "invite in". I made my decision shortly after that to leave.
@@loreanrivera9895 My Bible states that the HOLY SPIRIT is a CONSUMING FIRE. Its supposed to burn up all that is dead in your, renew your heart and make you born again. In that place it was all about 'invoking' things. It was all so strange that I never felt peace in there, I kept feeling like I was in a demon church, like no one in there really had a relationship with the LORD and that GOD was not leading the leaders. It was constant discord and no one was willing to accept the plain word, choosing to bicker about translations and smearing anyone for being KJV only. It was a spectacle designed to wear you out and make you numb.
If I had been in his church, I would have walked out. He's misleading his congregation and twisting scripture. That was done to Jesus in the desert too. The scripture was quoted, but it wasn't quite right. II have never heard of this pastor, but he needs to ask God for forgiveness.
This kind of false teaching occurs because congregations tolerate pastors who either are unqualified for the job or are deceptive wormtongues. Let us pray for more Christians who seek the face of God instead of enjoying words that tickle their ears.

No offense, but there's only one Pastor, the Lord Jesus Christ. :)) You're a lowercase pastor and that guy is as born-again as 44.
Such an important story to share! Praise the Lord!

We have a church here where I live that has a rainbow flag flying on the front of the church, but no where is there a Christian flag flying or even an American flag flying. It’s sad that Christians did not stand up and fight when the LGBTQIA+ took the rainbow (God’s promise to His people) as their symbol.
I never assert a pastor's
" intentions." Please Mike stop inserting pastor " intention," into the argument.

Even granting the pastor's argument, the best you could say is that abortion is still murder but God lets us choose to kill the innocent or not, and will judge us accordingly.
Exactly! God won't force anyone to choose life, but, he will judge those who choose to kill.

This is so funny. I was just making T-shirts with that phrase, "God is pro choice", with that very verse on them, to make a point about God's protection and promotion of life and the consequences of death and curses in our bad choices. I didn't really think there was such a foolish perspective that could take it the opposite way.

Can you point me in the direction to read about that?

Thanks for tackling this perversion of scripture Mike.
Partly, I am frustrated with these distortions of scripture for their own agenda;
But also, I feel really bad for men and women who stand in front of people and do this with God's Word.
They are going to have to stand before the Living God and give account for perverting His word like this.

Today's pastors don't know their bible well enough to preach the bible is mostly pro abortion and sometimes anti- abortion.

“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.”
Ephesians 4:13-14 NLT
The term “pro-choice” just needs to be ignored - its cleverly worded to point away from the real issue - purposely killing unborn children in the womb.
I know! The choice you should make is already spelt out for you!!!! Otherwise....
For precept must be on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; for with stammering lips and another language He will speak to this people.” (Isa 28:9-11)
We must read scripture in context with precepts in mind or we have no chance of understanding God.
Great job, Pastor Mike! Both a firm and respectful correction on a minister propagating an error of anachronistic projection.
It’s gross
Yep. Let's legalize murder and rape. But choose not to - because I'm personally against murder and rape. Perfect way to run a society.

At the end of the day a women chooses. If they choose to abort their baby, they will pay the consequences of their decision, on the other hand if they choose life, they will be blessed.

Thank you for what you do Mike!!
To any reading: stay in God's Word. When you see someone purposefully omit part of the passage, there's two reasons:
-Brevity
-Deception
If brevity, they have a point either unrelated to the omitted point, or their point is already established sufficiently and they want to reduce how much they have to say.

You can't call yourself pro-choice and yet at the same time take the choice away from other people. They want to say that unborn child isn't a people yet but it definitely is.
