This is one the best ink and paper demo videos I have seen. Thanks Marc!

This was insanely fun for me. I grabbed a clutch and composition pad and started driving right behind your lead and changed gears to my 159 when you went to ink. I paused once to catch up on the hatchback. This was the best sketch lesson I ever had. You made me look like I knew what I was doing with my finished work. The dream is real!

I do a lot of figure drawing............ and in my opinion this model and/or her pose was somewhat difficult . I think its because she is so skinny/boney. My drawing was ok, and I followed along with you. Learned so much.OMG Thanks

This was a tough pose to be sure. At some point, if my channel starts turning a significant profit, I hope to hire models for my videos, so I can show the original reference when I draw, but for now I can only show my drawings.

Thank you, Marc, it was really helpful to find this video. The self-critique of your 4 drawings was very encourgaging, as it showed that even experienced artists get variable results. The video inspired me to try my first pen and ink figure drawing. The outline is OK but my hatching is decidedly scruffy. I guess I just need to practice for a few more decades....

@@daveh3339 you’re very welcome! I’m glad you found this form of instruction helpful. I also think it’s good for instructors to show drawings that are less than successful in order to show where mistakes were made.

Your videos are incredibly good, you always manage to pack a huge amoount of information into each one and its amazing how well you are able to predict and answer the sorts of questions that beginners (and I) run into.

I’m just about to start work on a “sketching people,” video that will include an in depth explanation of how to draw clothes, the anatomy of folds, etc. thanks for your enthusiasm!

True, that watching real time drawing certainly helps with understanding how and where to put things down, also where to take time and where you can relax a bit.
Would love more like this as I can focus more rather than my eyes all over when watching a speed video...
