    Brilliant! Been working with pre-set standards for a long time and have now had to set up my own. Completely forgot some of the basics and this worked a treat.

    Hi LeAnn, I'm not sure what you mean by drop it in but they do work in 2013 (I use 2013) the free title blocks are just the .dwg block version of the title block. Like in this example they need to be inserted as a block into a new layout. The layout and your drawing must be setup to match the same units as the block (metric 8.5x11) or you can just insert it into any 8.5x11 layout and scale it down to inches.

    Brandon, I love your videos. Never think your not helping people because you are! My question and can you help me most of my drawings of house plans are plotted on C,D, and E size paper. What exact should each be so the I can just pull a window plot from bottom right and upper left corner of title block and just print/plot at 1/4” scale

  • @Cadintentions
    @Cadintentions  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you wanted to scale it down to your layout I would place the bottom left corner in the correct spot like the video. then when you zoom out I assume it's very large? If this is the case, select all of the block and text, then type in scale, then enter, then select the bottom left corner you placed as your base point, then hit enter, then type 'r' and enter for reference, then select that same bottom left corner as first point the the bottom most right corner of the title block as next point.

    If it still isn't clear, my full template download titleblocks. com can simply be opened and all the layouts and title blocks are already scaled and inserted.

    Hello
    In the command box I select "insert". Then go to browse. In my downloads I select A1 drawing sheet then select "open"
    Now when I go to my layout to insert the drawing sheet it is'nt there! I don't know what I am doing wrongly because at page setup manager I have already set the page size to A1 landscape.
    The border title block sheet just is'nt there to insert in paper space!
    Can you please help me and tell me what am I doing wrong
    Regards,
    Hilton

    [Nephew of Ida] 2:37 in my AutoCAD 2018 is the frame invisible and there is no insertion cross and no frame to attach.

    i made my title block in model space and made it 1/2" inside the edge of the paper. When i put it in paper space I didnt have the little close grip like you did mine was all the way down and to the left. How do I get it to just be in the center of the page and fit my 11x17 plot size?!

    I have a set of drawings where each sheet is a different CAD file. If I insert the title block into paper space as a BLOCK there's not a way to centrally edit the block ONCE and have it automatically update all the drawings that it's in. The block needs to be edited in ALL the DIFFERENT files that it's in. Wouldn't it be better to insert the title block as an XREF, so you can edit the title block just once and have it automatically update all the files it's referenced to?? Thanks

    I'm using a Student version of AutoCad 2012 , is there any way to take the student version logo off the drawing before printing it

    • @jeffbeck7931
      @jeffbeck7931 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Leonard that's kind of the point of the student version. There are probably ways to do so but if you have a student version that comes with the territory,

    is the dotted line in the layout will be plotted or not?

    • @Cadintentions
      @Cadintentions  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the questions! The dashed line is not plotted, it's just there to show you the boundaries/extent of what will be plotted.
      Cheers!

    I can't edit the information on the title box, the Title, Revisions, Date, etc. Can you PLEASE help me. I am stuck, I've searched every where...

    • @jeffbeck7931
      @jeffbeck7931 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Albergo I'm guessing it came in as a block so you can either explode it and edit it directly of you can use the refedit command and edit the info and save the changes.

    how to insert the block

  • @leannmenacho
    @leannmenacho 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is it in the 2013 it still does not want to let me just drop it in. I am using your title block and it is coming in super large??? I am getting very frustrated!!!!!! Please help me.

  • @amandaolds1413
    @amandaolds1413 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Instead of zooming into the drawing to carefully line up your insertion, just adjust your OSNAP tools and they will register those corners and edges!

    • @jeffbeck7931
      @jeffbeck7931 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Olds actually in paper space there are no objects to snap to. the easiest way is just to enter 0,0. If i need to snap to the the printable edges of a layout space I create a view port using the fit command and you can use the snap points of the viewport to snap to.

    Why dont you just insert at 0,0 and it will place it for you
