Hey everyone! This video marks the start of the newest series on the channel - Bleach Timelines! I wanted to do more videos in the same style as my series recap after the great response it got, so I hope you enjoy. Let me know if I missed anything, and if you have any other timelines you'd like to see looked at next - whether they be for battles, arcs, or even individual characters. But to the video - what did you think of Hueco Mundo's development over the course of Bleach? Is there a time period in its history you'd like to see more of? Let me know!
i see you improving the editing soon it's better than just facecams with manga images thrown sometimes, this looks way better and is actually entertaining to watch it as a video and not as a background podcast
The difference of MrTommo to other Bleach or any YT content creators I've seen is massive. The maximum, I guess, time that I can listen to someone here in YT is just around 5 minutes but weirdly, I don't mind playing his content as a background with anything I do. I guess his vocabulary was the reason. Dang. Thanks for being a Bleach fan and thanks for the contents that you post.
My sentiments exactly! Mr tommo I'm a huge fan been here before they announced the return of bleach with the tybw arc! I think content that gives us a layout/reference is really helpful especially to newer fans wanting explanations or just people like me wondering if there was anything solid to go by or if kubo leaves it up to us and our inference on some topics
MrTommo analyzes and does in-depth discussions on the topics he covers, whereas a lot of other creators just give summaries and rehash the story. I actually learn new things and get something out of Tommo's videos, instead of just being told something I already knew.
I maintain to this day that Barragan is one of the most wasted characters in all of Bleach. There was so much potential lore and plot development to be explored through him especially if you consider the light novels as canon too. How Kubo can introduce such an awesome character concept as the ancient King of Hollows and do nothing with it is beyond me. Barragan didn’t deserve to be a mere underling at all.
@@severussin look at him. he's not hollow-like at all. No hole, and ancient with an ability entirely unique to him that no other hollow had a passing resemblance to. he has more in common with ikomikidomoe than to any other hollow in the manga.
Mild issue with the timeline though. Szayelapporo was the first zero espada before he split his soul in half and cast out his barbaric side which would come to be known as Iilfort, his brother. Since we see IIlfort in Grimmjow’s group, Szayelapporo had to exist as the zero espada, and therefore the espada had to exist, prior to the formation of the group Grimmjow would encounter and eventually turn into his fraccion
i see you making more edits nice, 3 minutes in feels better than most videos you've made before where its mostly just facecam with random manga images thrown here and there, appreciate the effort youre putting in man, makes it feel worth watching the video and not as a background podcast you listen to
A great video. However I respectfully disagree that Nel was demoted after the Soul Society Arc since when Nnoitra emerged from her Cero Doble he told Nel thar many years/ a long time has passed since she was an Espada and that the power levels haven changed. This means that Nel was kicked out of the Espada years before that fight.
For being a world of endless cannibalism and it's survival of the fittest horrors the worst was almost certainly the Quincy onslaught and subsequent occupation. It was initial decimation followed by a brutal guerrilla war. At least in the aftermath some of the more reasonable and humane surviving Espada have decided to change that. For the first time in its bloody history a measure of peace has settled in. It's also fascinating how there are hidden villages of Hollows.
In a weird binge I've been in blender turning my character into an arrancar, this has been one of my most fun projects, especially making a kick-ass zanpakuto, the hollow mask ended up looking way cooler than I thought and I slapped a hollow hole + partial mask for a base form, this series is super cool to draw inspiration and styles from
@@dragon-ye2mw im still thinking about ideas for a name + release for zanpakuto but the base sword and mask is modelled. mask and i commissioned this neat art im using as pfp from skeb
I consider myself a pretty big Bleach fan, but I had never heard Ulquiorra’s origin until you described it here (UNMASKED never made it into my collection). You and your channel have been invaluable in filling in some of the gaps in my Bleach knowledge (especially with the light novels), and I want to thank you for that. Just FYI, I started reading scanlations of the manga before the English dub anime came out on [as], so it’s been close on 20 years… and although Bleach was my first obsession in a lifelong love of anime and manga, it has always remained on top of my favorites, no matter public opinion. Thank you for rounding out the world for fans and filling in what I missed over the years (life gets in the way of otaku-dom lol). I am so glad Bleach is finally getting the resurgence that it deserves, and you and your fellow TH-camrs (shout out to DBZimran!) are a big part of that. Thank you 🙏🏻
24:20 so thinking about it Aizen without knowing or intending it has actually massively helped Hueco Mundo, he has basically done a spot of gardening, the soul reapers basically were forced into pruning all the top growth letting all the smaller hollows at the bottom have room to grow HM would soon have reached a point of stagnation with so meny strong Espada starting to form we would soon reach a point where no new growth could happen.
I always wonder does the flow of time move faster in Huecho Mundo than the other two worlds? I mean I assume Aizen was secretly building his army prior to his eventual reveal of his betrayal. However when the arrancar arc started it looked like his army was recently built and chamber Aizen was initially in looked more like cave than what we saw later on. Also within the few days towards to the part when Ichigo and his friends invade Los Noches, it became massive. Plus he probably couldn’t create an arrancar without a complete hogyoku.
It didn’t seem to be that long since Ichigo and co went into Hueco Mindo and rescued Orihime. Like it felt like they were in there for a few hours maybe 12 at max but nowhere near 24 hours.
I personally think Aaroniero was Espada #1 in the first generation. If he was the only one to remain from the previous generation, he must have been the strongest of the first generation. There was also something I never understood about the Quincy conquest of Hueco Mundo. As seen with Masaki, Hollow reiatsu is poison to Quincy, right? If that's the case, then how did the Quincy so easily conquer Hueco Mundo? The Hollows/Arrancar there could just spam their reiatsu/cero and immediately kill all the Quincy.
This is my favorite video you’ve ever done. You filled in some gaps in my bleach knowledge and I rather appreciate how you made it easy to digest. I often work with YT videos in the background and this time I couldn’t be bothered to focus on my work bc I was so engaged. Keep up the amazing content!
Yylford Granz was a part of Szayelaporro. It's one reason he was the 0 Espada. So I think Grimmjow's group would've been formed during that time where he removed his beast and wild part of him.
It’s doubtless that Starrk comes before any of the Espada with the only possible exception being Barrigan because an astronomical amount of time had to pass for the mountains of dead hollows around him to stockpile enough to impress Aizen.
Wait no, Espada 0 didn't split himself into Cien and Szayelaporro, he split himself into Szayelaporro and Illfort who was the original's battle craziness manifested as an Adjuchas of the original Szayelaporro soul's brother - being why he and Illfort are brothers. Which also means Grimmjow had to come to be and to join them after that which really pushes forward the timeline of when Grimmjow had to have been born as Illfort would then be born and have been around for a while before Grimmjow showed up. Or pushes back the timeline of when Cien split off his power and got demoted from the espada. Also missed Roca and her whole deal (which coulda brought up mention of the random healer Arrancar around in Aizen's hierarchy), including the real defeat of the original generation of Espada Cien (since he was mentioned in this anyway) IN Hueco Mundo itself.
I always got the impression that Ulquiorra was recruited just before the hueco mundo arc, and was born shortly before the series being one of the youngest arrancar.
I like this idea but I think the power levels are too skewed, like most anime the characters get stronger over time so then their enemies have to get increasingly stronger too so by default Stern Ritter are in a whole other class
I feel like top Espada would wipe a majority of the Sternritter, but the upper echelon Sternritter would probably dunk on the Espada. Characters like Gerard, Lille, Gremmy, and probably Askin would wipe
Not gonna lie, I'd love the Hueco Mundo part to be explored more in the anime. It would make the audience feel the real scale of the tybw, and it would be a great opportunity for Kubo and the anime staff to give characters like Chad, and Grimjaw and Neliel some more time to shine by making them battle the remaining Quincy's of Hueco Mundo. Just giving Chad an epic moment would do so much for his character.
I seem to recall Aizen using his Kyoku Suigetsu to fool Captain Hirako, during the "Turn Back The Pendulum" arc. That was a thousand years before the events in Karakura Town involving Masaki and Isshin. And I got the strong impression that Aizen is much, much older than Hirako. Which is strange, because Hirako said to Aizen, "I knew you before you were born". But Aizen tricked him. He was going to Hueco Mundo during that whole time, possibly experimenting with his own Hokyoku design.
Quick question, are you going to cover burn the witch and how it fits into the pre-existing Bleach universe? There are a few plot holes and unanswered questions about how the two can be in the same time and universe.
Here's hoping you decide to do more timeline videos. I'm sure the effort to make them is very intensive, but these educational videos are my favourites, this and the one about kido. They really help solidify my understanding of the more elusive aspects of Bleach that aren't ever fully explored or even focused on
I thoroughly enjoyed the start of this new series. Of course it was gonna be a little ambiguous due to the lack of precise dates provided in the manga. But it was none the less great. In a more wishful thinking line of thought, I would love to see a what if (either a video by you or a spin off by Kubo jejeje) about las Hueco mundo and it's prosperous future in the hands of Tier Harribel and Nel. I can imagine a research and development team that finds a way to create reishi food to substitute human souls so that hollows become more civilized. Thanks for your hard and always high quality videos Mr. Tommo!
I would love to see a video talking about this history of hell that we are currently aware of. Also, if the world was split into 3, what section is hell a part of?
Mr tommo I'm a huge fan been here before they announced the return of bleach with the tybw arc! I think content that gives us a layout/reference is really helpful especially to newer fans wanting explanations or just people like me wondering if there was anything solid to go by or if kubo leaves it up to us and our inference on some topics
I think It's more likely that the Nel Nnoritora stuff happens some number of years ago and not during the the events of the story. I think it's also possible that had the Espada before he even had his Hogyoku although that is a guess. Afterward it's possible that he started the 11-99 naming scheme for the Arrancar once he got his Hogyoku or after he combined it with Urahara's, but I can't say for certain. A lot of this is muddied because Kubo originally wrote that Aizen had no knowledge of what a Hogyoku even looked like, but then magically it shown to us that he had an incomplete Hogyoku some 110+ years ago, so it's always hard to say.
It should be noted that Di-Roy appears in chapter 25 overseeing Grand Fisher getting healed. This comfortably means Aizen was rebirthing hollows into Arrancar before he got Urahara's Hogyoku and was likely using his own without the other combining with it yet. Di-Roy is Arrancar number 16. Shawlong states they are given numbers in order of their rebirth through the Hogyoku. Di-Roy is already a reborn Arrancar was far back as chapter 25, well before Aizen gets Urahara's Hogyoku which is chapter 186. I'm also sure that Nnortora says to Nel, "How many years do think have passed since you vanished from this place", or something to that effect. So I think that is proof positive Aizen was already making Arrancar like even Grimmjow (Who is revealed to be Arrancar 12 before he became an Espada). So my theory is he runs into Grimmjow and his Fraccion (who are 11-16, and therefore the first to be reborn) then maybe a few others, then finds Barragan and his Fraccion and make them into Arrancar as well (since they are revealed to be 20-27, although Barragan's rebirth number is not known), some years pass, he gets Urahara's Hogyoku and as far as we know WonderWeiss is the last Arrancar he rebirthed
I had a dream about a possible future Bleach movie where Hueco Mundo got colonized by outside forces (but things like trade, an economy and even farmland were established in a peaceful/pragmatic manner). Who wants to learn more?
One of the problems with HM timeline are for example this 2 points: 1. What time did Cien split into Szayel and Yylfordt? Logic would say it happened before Yylfordt meeting Grimmjow. 2. Shawlong was the 1st Arrancar created since his number 11, were the Grants Hollofied before the Cien split or as Cien?
Yess, more timeline-episodes pls :D Just wondering since you took into account the Harribel-flashback from teh anime(?) Doesn't somebody in that flashback mention that Barragan had started working with "some newcomers" or something? Or Barragan himself tells Harribel that there are big changes coming or something similar when he ask her to work for him? Just thinking that would mean Barragan was indeed in on Aizen's scheme from early on rather than being "in exile", hiding from him until right before the series starts? Other than that, I kind of wouldn't put it past the anime-team (at the time) to sort of not think about how Aizen would have looked different in the past, and just pasted in the Aizen we know from the series at the time of Harribel's flashbac, into her flashback. So I kind of take his appearance with a grain of salt. It seems to be very early in the arrancar-experiments. Does the timelines really add up if Aizen just got started on his artificial arrancar-experiments that late?
An excellent idea for a video series - the lore of Bleach is so under-developed and under explored, at least now with Klub outside people can ask Kubo directly for answers and he'll give them, if he feels like it. XD
Here's something im not entirely understanding during the primordial Era it's said there was no cycle of life and death does it mean no one was dying? Or does it mean that there was no afterlife and death was permanent? This stuff always confused me
Where the hell do all of the Quincy even come from. Like where the hell have they been for thousands of years? To me it just feels like they just come out of nowhere, and explain they're back for revenge but like nobody knew about them? If they fought previously and were beaten but some survived why were they forgotten about? Its very confusing to me
I believe there are at least 4 worlds, the Living world, Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and Hell. back during the manga's final arc I also thought there was a Beast realm, but I can't remember if it was a confirmed thing
I'd like to see an entire timeline of the Bleach universe. From in-universe creation to the farthest known time point, which I assume currently is wherever the Hell one shot ends.
Honestly I think the hollow land just felt like a land filled to the brim undiscovered mysteries that was never properly touched on. This is one of my personal nitpicks with bleach
He's a race created by the creator of Bleach, he might be able to see without using eyes. It wouldn't make sense for humans, but other beings follow other rules and have different anatomy. Plus, I bet Bleach uses "magic" as an excuse for why things work anyway.
It feels like the Ninotira stuff with Nel should have taken place earlier since it doesn't seem like Ninotira would get that much stronger than Nel in such a short amount of time.
@@davidettles1992 Nel wanted to finish him quickly cos she was running out of time in that form not that he was stronger lol😹😹 in the novel she never trained yet she on pair with Hallibel and above Grimmjow who is stronger than Nnoitra at this point.

If Barragan is a natural-born VL-level Arrancar, why does he always look like a skeleton? I thought Shinigamification gave him his sealed fleshy form, which we see after he becomes an Espada under Aizen. Is it that the Hogyoku improved Barragan's Shinigamification?
@@shameronstar7220 that implies that Barragan was in his released form in the Aizen/Barragan flashback...but then why? No other Arrancar does that. I imagine it's probably exhausting or else they'd all stay in their released forms all the time
@@RemyEFrancisi mean, ichigo during the majority of the series is in a continuous shikai state, i honestly don't believe shikai/resurreccion drains stamina, at least for some characters. that could explain barragan's constant skeletal appearance
While not a critical moment in the history of Hueco Mundo (but since you mentioned it) I was always bothered by the sudden and seemingly arbitrary elevation of Luppi Antenor to the rank of Sixth Espada from - no rank at all! He went from not worthy to be #9 to being worthy of promotion to #6 all because Grimjow lost an arm?!? So we're all supposed to accept that Luppi is now stronger than Zommari, Szayel Aporro, and Aaroniero all because Grimjow lost an arm? What's next? Should we believe Yammy is stronger than stronger than Stark just because his "1" isn't stuck on very well?

This was an awesome recap from the series. It was very useful. You are by far the best at explaining things like this/
I would love to see a video talking about this history of hell that we are currently aware of. Also, if the world was split into 3, what section is hell a part of?
Brilliant video and I'm looking forward to the next installment for this series!
Easily the best bleach youtuber
Im pretty sure Kubo made that anime bit with Harribel cannon....
Nelliel is shown to clearly be a powerful aranncar. Probably not too much off from the top 4 espada
@@shameronstar7220 Exactly
You’re the best Tommo only person I go to for bleach content
Excited for you to hit 200k! You deserve it
I had a dream about a possible future Bleach movie where Hueco Mundo got colonized by outside forces (but things like trade, an economy and even farmland were established in a peaceful/pragmatic manner).
Who wants to learn more?
I think a series like Bleach has enough lore for a lot of new and interesting standalone films
Need this for soul society
One of the problems with HM timeline are for example this 2 points:
1. What time did Cien split into Szayel and Yylfordt? Logic would say it happened before Yylfordt meeting Grimmjow.
2. Shawlong was the 1st Arrancar created since his number 11, were the Grants Hollofied before the Cien split or as Cien?
Ooh, interesting topic. I've always wondered about the order of the events there, the Nel twist in particular really confused me in that matter.
I wish you success, man, because you support this great anime, the Bleach anime, which I have never seen in my life. ❤
All I know is, I'm proud of your channel growth. Good content
what if ulquiora survived. how would the quincy invasion of hueco mundo have gone differently
This is indeed a banger🔥
Yess, more timeline-episodes pls :D
Just wondering since you took into account the Harribel-flashback from teh anime(?) Doesn't somebody in that flashback mention that Barragan had started working with "some newcomers" or something?
Excellent. I've been looking forward to your explanation of this one. Thank you.
huh. Weird. I was just thinking about Hueco Mundo's regimes just yesterday, totally at random lol
7:03 he just like me fr fr
An excellent idea for a video series - the lore of Bleach is so under-developed and under explored, at least now with Klub outside people can ask Kubo directly for answers and he'll give them, if he feels like it. XD
Your videos butter my biscuits thank you
This was fantastic! Thank you for all the detailed Bleach content
Its very confusing to me
You are saving me from my dark night of the soul❤
I believe there are at least 4 worlds, the Living world, Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and Hell. back during the manga's final arc I also thought there was a Beast realm, but I can't remember if it was a confirmed thing
Exactly Hell Arc To add to your point.
Keep up the great content 💚
I'd like to see an entire timeline of the Bleach universe. From in-universe creation to the farthest known time point, which I assume currently is wherever the Hell one shot ends.
Honestly I think the hollow land just felt like a land filled to the brim undiscovered mysteries that was never properly touched on. This is one of my personal nitpicks with bleach
Was about to mention Harribel's flashback, but I forgot that was anime only.
Please do a video on Hado and Kido
I still don't get how Kyouka Suigetsu worked on someone who doesn't have eyes - Barragan
He's a race created by the creator of Bleach, he might be able to see without using eyes. It wouldn't make sense for humans, but other beings follow other rules and have different anatomy.
Plus, I bet Bleach uses "magic" as an excuse for why things work anyway.
The arrancars lead very hollow lives.
*sorry. I had to do it lol.
Didn't know Szayell was a Vasto Lorde
When are the Schutzstaffel Character Analysis videos coming😭
I need to get back into bleach
great video
For a second I thought I had misclicked a Doug Demuro video.
Thank you for this!!!
8:18 stark has no mask!
It feels like the Ninotira stuff with Nel should have taken place earlier since it doesn't seem like Ninotira would get that much stronger than Nel in such a short amount of time.
Nnoitra is not stronger than Neliel
@@lusionfx2219
I disagree, Nel had to use her Resurrection form to fight base Ninotira. If he used his he would've won.
@@davidettles1992 Nel wanted to finish him quickly cos she was running out of time in that form not that he was stronger lol😹😹 in the novel she never trained yet she on pair with Hallibel and above Grimmjow who is stronger than Nnoitra at this point.
@@lusionfx2219 I never read the Novels, was she as strong as Hallibel and grimmjaw after the the FKT arc or at the time she fought Ninotira? From the Manga she wasn't able to actually beat Ninotira even using her resurrection or force him to use his.
@@davidettles1992 Man I'm telling you she didn't have much time to remain in her adult form she wanted to finish Nnoitra as soon as possible... In the novel she is strong as Hallibel.
Ah lo bergah! Ed Heck Mundo!!
Question for u do u think we will see more of the first captains of the soul society in the hell arch especially dance he came out with all the names and what they looked like
If Barragan is a natural-born VL-level Arrancar, why does he always look like a skeleton? I thought Shinigamification gave him his sealed fleshy form, which we see after he becomes an Espada under Aizen. Is it that the Hogyoku improved Barragan's Shinigamification?
When an area car is in their human form that’s the equivalent of a shinigami’s sealed zanpaktou
@@shameronstar7220 that implies that Barragan was in his released form in the Aizen/Barragan flashback...but then why? No other Arrancar does that. I imagine it's probably exhausting or else they'd all stay in their released forms all the time
@@RemyEFrancis Think they natural improved their shinigamification or just stacked strength and intelligence to maintain humanoid forms until fight.
@@RemyEFrancisi mean, ichigo during the majority of the series is in a continuous shikai state, i honestly don't believe shikai/resurreccion drains stamina, at least for some characters. that could explain barragan's constant skeletal appearance
Why was Starrk born so strong? How did that happen and why? How was he born an Arrancar stronger than Barragan? He definitely should have lived
People aren’t created equally and Hollows are no exception. Some are born strong and some are born weak.
Take it as a Hollow version of Zaraki.
Solid content
The Living World video is gonna be like an hour long
Sorry 2 comment better algorithm your channel very good bleach resource
Great video :))
We technically don't know how long Aizen was in charge of Hueco Mundo, it could have been centuries.
Gin and Tosen were Captains, you gotta think his first stop in Heuco Mundo would be to Barragan. I'd say 50 at the most
Please I mean please do the series
I got the impression that Aizen just wanted to antagonize Grimmjow with that decision
How do people "drink" in Hueco Mundo? There is just no water^^
Stark was a natural vasto lorde before he split in 2
Why couldn't the privaron Espada be upgraded with the Hogyoku?
Dope.
Wait I’m confused. There were Arrancars before Aizen? How?
Look up the meaning of all places and names of characters
Nice
