Escapee cavalry horse appears to have injured leg as army locate missing animal

- New footage has emerged of one of the escaped cavalry horses which appears to show the animal with an injured leg.
Four people have been taken to hospital after they were injured when a number of military horses broke loose and caused carnage in central London.
The animals, one of which appeared to be covered in blood, were seen running around Whitehall and Victoria, with two of the horses reaching as far as Limehouse and Shadwell.
Witnesses reported seeing a soldier falling to the ground, while an army spokesperson confirmed that a number of personnel and horses had been injured and were receiving medical attention.

This i can say, these horses will receive the best vetrinary care. I am glad no one or animal was killed in this incident. I hope anyone with injuries has a speedy recovery.
These horses aren't built to be used by the army, it's 2024, we have vehicles now. They should be in nature where they belong, makes me ashamed to be British.
They must have been terrified. Awful seeing such majestic creatures in so much panic..... wishing a very speedy recovery ❤

These horses are trained to tolerate most noises as they are used in parades and events. I can't think what could have made 5 horses panic at the same time.
@@601salsaApparently it was building work next to the barracks and they dropped a huge load of rubble that was loud as hell and spooked the horses.
@@601salsathe horses were on a training ride near Buckingham palace. A load of concrete was dropped down a chute just behind where the horses were. Spooked the horses. Then later in the yard one of the Lifeguard was thrown and all the horses were wound up. The young man did get up and walk off with the medics thankfully. I hope he’s ok.

That Horse will be well looked after they are loved by their riders and are an integral part of the Regiment as much as a wounded fellow soldier would be cared for in battle so will these Horses receive the same care as a comrade in arms .

He hurt himself first when he run over the cyclist, that guy was badly injured then he hit the bus where he cut himself! I saw footage when they were assessing his legs , he was standing well. If they take them early outside to the park they should be informed of construction going on in the area. I wish a fully recovery to all involved.

I agree, so much more to this very very strange incident in my many decades on earth I have never known or seen this type of incompetence regarding Calvary horses. Portentous indeed, especially bleeding.
The *four horses in the Bible represented something because of the riders. It was just some building rubble that was very heavy & thrown into a chute then landed in a metal skip that scared them all.. Im sure the Guards will be having pleasant words with them.

The strap around the horses lower leg came loose…..it didn’t hurt its leg, it just felt the strap dangling and responded.

I blame the builders. Lack of safety. From the builders. Dropping materials off from height. What happened if that landed on a car, or a person etc etc.
The builders need to be sorted out and addressed over the lack of safety
The concrete was being thrown down a large plastic telescopic shute. The sound must have been very unfamiliar to the horses. They might change how they do things from now on. Although they can't stop construction work in London!
@@Amperzand I think it was about 8.30 am and most councils allow construction work from 8 am. Maybe they need to go out a bit earlier, although I appreciate this was very unlucky that it was particularly loud just at the moment they were passing.

Poor horses wee pets, im so glad they were got safely , & alive, with the best treatment at vets , god love them ❤❤❤❤❤ , i hope there cuts werent that bad ,
They did get everyone rounded up and they are under veterinary care at the barracks. Aside from being frightened and scraped up they are ok and being very well cared for. Trust me these horses have better care than most people ❤

Building work near the barracks. A heavy load was dropped which due to the loud noise, caused the horses to bolt.

I wish I had never seen the poor terrified horses so petrified and bleeding. I always feel bad for animals suffering being they have no control over what life they have. They are at the mercy of human beings. 😢. So very sad

National News said two horses are badly injured. White horse especially critical condition. Maybe this is wakeup call for everyone. Changes are badly needed the idiots are running the show. Social Media needs to take so of the blame. Tough rules need to be in place next time may not be so lucky.

They were on a training ride a builder dropped a load of concrete off a building down a chute into a skip behind the horses. Scared the crap out of them. Riders were thrown at various points of the escape. 4 people in the hospital the horses are rounded up and getting better medical care than most people ❤️

i think so too these horses don't have any sort of life, like prison for horses kept in stalls not even stables i bet and no freedom to be a horse in a field every day and to kick off steam, fed well to look good but expected to be docile whilst under mental torture, how would you feel being locked up 22 hours a day in a small space. Why is it ok to use horses like this in 2024. They belong in nature, not in capital cities. British people need to move on from the past sometimes, this is certainly one of those cases.

Well, these are not native animals to the UK, so they wouldn't and shouldn't be allowed to just run free in Nature. Not in this country anyway.
And due to the high cost of looking after a horse now (my friend has 6 and she has to work every moment she can, even though she keeps them on her own land), there are fewer people that are in a financial position to keep them any more should the army decide to sell them off.
So, instead of running free or becoming privately owned, many of the horses currently owned by the cavalry, not being any use in war and not fast enough to race, would likely have to be destroyed.
You have to think about all the circumstances that may arise from 'ideal scenarios.'
It's just not feasible to just let horses roam free, especially in a cramped, overpopulated, overbuilt little island like Britain.
Just think of the carnage if they got onto a motorway, or ran down a high street, or ran into a barbed wire fence.
I've seen the full horror of 4 horses that escaped their field, ran full pelt up a road towards the crest of a bridge - and met a lorry coming in the other direction. The 4 horses were killed and the driver never fully recovered from his injuries.
Sadiq Kahn stated "the black horse stabbed the white horse in the multicultural soup kitchen of London which means the white horse was being a far right agitator towards the black horses knife".

Nothing mad about it at all. This was an extraordinary event. I have seen similar cavalry horses crossing Blackheath - many with a rider plus two horses. They are superbly skilled - both riders and horses.
I hope all injured riders and horses make a full recovery soon.
