UPSC was always better than GPSC even at peak of Dinesh Dasa at GPSC chairmanship. He just improved little bit in quality & more in speed of conclusion big exams but there were many disasters in his tenure but same wasn't case for UPSC. Same day answer key ka kya karne ka jab final answer ki b galat hi hoti hai & hoti hi thi?? Kitne sare cases hue, har mains me paper checking me locha tha, abhi tak unke tenures k interview chal rhe hai jo wo chhod k gaye 😂😂 usse achha hi rha hai UPSC even 50 sal pehle bhi.

These are real casteist people who hate to see any person from upper caste in any post , no matter how hard they have tried to achieve that post or done exceptional in the field. Now to your question - every year 50% candidates are surely from reserved category and if we include those gets into general category it would reach somewhere about 75%. So tell me how those from reserved category get into the final list . Moreover , go and just download last 5 years list of toppers interview marks and watch their performance on mock interviews, you would see everyone no matter from which category they belong get marks according to their performance. Many in top 100 are from SC, st , obc and they get exceptional marks. So don't make these type of nonsense comments.
