Your experience here mirrors my own with Bolt - when building out websites, games or apps that don’t require integration with third party back end applications it is pretty smooth sailing. The moment you try to add a database or user authentication you are burning tokens and get stuck in error loops that are had to resolve. I’m sure this will improve in time - their team are working hard to improve functionality.
its my second time leaving a comment under a video on youtube. Thank you. This is a gold mine for those who understand. Its the difference between non-coders using bolt.new for app creation and actual coders. This is a goldmine, thanks
Very nice video. I like the structure of how the foundations of the app is built in each of the phases. Would be amazing if the prompts would be made available. Maybe in a Github repo? Incredible Github extension for Bolt. Super useful.
Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you found the structure of the app's foundation helpful. I'll be making the prompts available on GitHub before the series ends.
Very helpful. I have been entering composite indexes manually. I wasn't aware Bolt could handle it. This has cost me around $200 in tokens. Were you able to Bolt to create the database structures and composite indexes?
I'm glad you found the video helpful! I have yet to try using Bolt for that. But I would suggest using a different tool, as Bolt is optimized to build UIs, IMHO.
You're right, but I'm only trying to create a simple database structure and collections. My initial goal is to have a working integration. I thought you wanted a more complex database structure, so I suggested a different tool. 😊
@@AIDrivenCoder Im trying to figure out if you succeeded in creating a simple database structure and collections in which Bolt automatically creates the structure? It failed in the video, did you ever succeed?
@@mynameisdavidwalters Yes, I eventually succeeded. It's shown here in part 2: th-cam.com/video/eNEmt9MhZpg/w-d-xo.html The database structure is quite complex as Bolt created dynamic content rendering of the tutorial data, which is impressive because it allows editing of the tutorials content without redeployment.
@@AIDrivenCoder nice....i thought in your video that you had said just refresh....ok ill wait for it to work...thanks for doing this. that will be helpfull
Sorry to hear that. I already have a video series that might help. Here's the first part: th-cam.com/video/vB6JUrqnUTo/w-d-xo.html . You can go ahead and check the video description to access parts 2 and 3.

i totally agree with you. that's why I transferred to windsurf for unlimited limits. but for now, they are still unstable due to the surge
Same experience here. Projects like Marblism, Windsurf, Databutton are further when it comes to backend integration.
@@DickerehikariDuck I have yet to get a functional app up and running with Windsurf though I love the UX "flow". Plus the UI usually sucks.

the future of coding is here
Absolutely! It's already here, but I think we're just getting started.
We neeed 2nd part

when i hit the github extension it just downloads. good ideas but not working
That is a known issue, and I mentioned in the video that I would fix it. Working on it now. 😊

@AIDrivenCoder thankyou..
The plugin keeps downloading the file for me it just won't push to github even after refresh
I'm fixing several issues with the extension to make it more stable.
