Something can't come from nothing. If you really believe that's true then you must believe God must have come from something, otherwise something can come from nothing.
The law that something can't come from nothing is the law of the universe. God is not part of the Universe. He is not part of his creation. We are limited by the laws of the universe (scientific laws) but since God is not part of His creation/universe, He is not limited by it.

He strongly states about 4 times that something can't come from nothing.
Ali's argument is to provide proof of God's existence which I've already proved to be flawed. Your argument provides no proof of God's existence.
@@takesalotta112 From what I've understood, based on Ali's explanation, is that he is talking about cause and effect. That is if something needs to exist, there needs to be a cause. This again is a law of our universe. That everything is dependant on something. So basically his point is that we are dependant on something and everything in this universe is dependant on something as well.
The question that then arises is, where does it begin? How far back can we go to look at the chain of dependency? It cannot be an infinite chain backwards because that doesn't make sense. So there has to be something that was independant that caused the first cause. But that independant being/power/cause, whatever you wanna call it, cannot be part of our universe and has to be outside of our realm because everything in our universe, by law, needs to have a cause. And since the initial cause/power needs to be independant, it has to exist outside our universe. With this, he concludes that, the being or power outside of universe that isn't bound by our law of cause and effect, that independant being that initially caused everything, as God.
I think the downside of Ali's explanation was that he failed to clarify that the independant being needs to be outside the realm of our universe otherwise it will also be bound by the laws of the universe and will need a cause which wouldn't make sense for it to be a God.

I see your point, but if God exists outside the laws of the universe, then we can't theorise whether his decision to create the universe was logical or not.
The reality is even if God did exist, it wouldn't make sense to create something he doesn't need.
Look how many stars and planets there are. It feels pretty meaningless to create all of that.
@@takesalotta112 That would be a different question though. The question we discussed earlier was if God exists. But this question is about WHY we were created. This is where religion comes in I believe. But even without religion, coming to a conclusion that there is no need for Him to create all this would be a personal judgement. If He was the one who created everything in this whole universe, the one that knows everything, it would be arrogant of us to conclude the reason behind it. There could be a million reasons why He created us. It would be impossible to conclude with one. But since there are religions that claim to give the answer to those questions, why not check out what they have to say. It might be truth, it might not. But no harm in checking and reading the scriptures.
If you do read and study about religions, it would be best if you don't generalise them as each of them has their own fundamental differences in concepts. The reason I'm a Muslim is because Islam makes the most sense to me and also because of the miracles in the Qur'an.

Its always good to watch when the people you're talking to engage, ask questions, listen, contemplate and reflect on whats said. Knowledge is key! I hope God willing they both ponder on what the knowledge shared and they come to terms with the reality of a creator behind all this creation and purpose of life. Respect
Regarding the argument they made at 6 minutes about the creator having a will, you can answer that if something doesn't have a will like for example the sun, it will be providing heat and light all the time and can't switch that property off, whereas the creator of the universe does seem to have control when not to create.

Brother if u are having doubts. Please go read up on all of the prophecies in the Quran and the ones made by the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Almost all of them now have been fulfilled. Prophecies are one of the main ways to show Islam’s truth. May Allah guide and assist u brother.

I think Ali distanced his argument a bit too much from the Quranic teaches, arguments and explanation of Islam's purpose, every video I see, he talks less and less about the nature of Islam, which is what I think the best words to give, think about the prophet saw, he did not use these philosophical theories and stuff. He adapts to the person he’s giving Dawah to. These people do not believe in a god at all so Ali has to go to the basics first.
The people at the time of the prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) were polytheists not atheists. The way to give dawah to each group is very different. Allah s.w.t says is the Quran: ( Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided. ) {surat al nahil 125}

Ali says by accident that God would say, “I am time.” I think that you should consider if that is a valid attribution, and if it isn’t, consider the implications of that statement. Maybe you should retract it.
I didnt watch the complete video and dont know in what context ali said it. However take a look at this hadith. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty said: The son of Adam abuses me. He curses time and I am time, for in my hand are the night and day.”
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 4549, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2246
Scholars say time isnt the attribute of Allah Nawawi said:
They said: this is a metaphor, because the Arabs used to inveigh against time when disasters such as death, old age, loss of money, etc., happened. They would say, ‘Woe to time’ and other phrases cursing or inveighing against time. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Do not inveigh against time for Allaah is time’, i.e., do not inveigh against the One Who brings about those disasters, for that will be directed towards Allaah, for He is the One Who causes them to happen. Time (al-dahr) means al-zamaan (time) which cannot do anything in and of itself, for it is just one of the things that have been created by Allaah.
The meaning of the phrase “for Allaah is time” means that He is the One Who causes those events and accidents to happen, and He is the Creator of all that happens. And Allaah knows best.

The Islamic Government is going to punish the apostate for breaking the natural rhythm of the society. There is another option, which is to send the apostates to another country that is non-Islamic. This has been done in the past when our beloved Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH ) was alive.
