As for Born, if you're not seeing anything other than his webmills and headswipes you need to look a whole lot closer. And it's not all about having new moves up your sleeve every jam, a lot of it is the attitude and flavor as well which Born displays a lot more than a whole lot of bboys do these days. its obvious that born lost THIS battle. I've always liked Vero but I gotta say the boy is improving by the minute it seems. I love born, but he just didn't bring the rawness that he normally does. I have no idea what you are talking about. In my opinion, Borns moves aren't there. You bringing up how its hard to be clean and all has nothing to do with the fact that he finished his set, walked away, saw Vero coming and threw out whatever he could. He got up from a set, he didn't finish and in an attempt to win a round he threw out a blowup. One he's had forever. That's not part of the round, if it is then flow into it. I have respect for Born, I'm just losing it everytime i watch him.

born's first set was groovy though. obviously he didnt show technique like vero did for this entire battle, but his style was there(maybe not the best for a battle called match one skill). regarding him joining mzk and making all his sets short and choking on the end for most of them, what you guys all say about that, i agree. but shoot, that just makes him a true freestyler and yes, im pretty sure hes still one of the best beat killers

He loses the battle regardless. His whole not trying attitude is a sham, he might not be trying, but maybe he forgot how to try. I haven't seen Born do well since a little after he battled Casper. Before he got popular, and changed his style. Stop stalling before your rounds and camandoing.... its weak. Just imagine a BBoy with Born's moves who isn't Born. You'd think he has nice beatriding, not exactly musicality, but wasn't top tier caliber. His style isn't even unique anymore.
Born can't win against someone with a unique style and tricks like he used to have. Beat riding is impressive but Born has fallen off the map in my opinion. His rep gives him an advantage in battles not his moves or what he does. Even when Born does something impressive its overshadowed by his overplaying into his reputation and the image he's trying to uphold. Its like he is trying to play it off like he's not trying... but loses... and since he wasn't trying it doesn't mean anything.

And Cloud wins? if they really want to show they audience powermoves, why not let Kaku win? BC One is more commercialized than most competitions though.
vero just did the same shit a different way, kind of like how lilou gets by from pulling the same airchair in different variations. Born lost because he fucked up almost every set, but he did way more techs while vero was spamming the same variations. vero is dope, i like his fire and he is very swift, but he won because born fucked up.
Yea of course he is and i dont dislike vero or jinjo but being clean doesnt mean you have footwork, and yes vero does have footwork but i mean it is nowhere close to borns, but im also not saying born won this match either i think vero did, just that it wasnt a good matchup, like born vs beast2 or something woulda been tight

Born was awesome, but I have to say, I think Vero has more variety in his power , which gives him a bit more balance and an edge on Born. Not saying that Born doesn't have dope moves, just that I don't think he took Vero seriously, and by the time he did, it was already too late.Both are dope Bboys, but Vero has this round, and imo he deserves it.

actually i think his style is kinda repetitive as well. not as much as his power, but he IS supposedly a stylehead. But i think he just kills beats nowadays, not really coming up with new footwork tricks or different transitions... a lot of his vids look the same.. except he kills the beats in different ways. now THAT'S always dope as hell.

Yes the hat trick was nice, but i liked vero's musicality. Born thinks he can just kick his feet on the beat or something unoriginal like that over and over and win battles. and what you said about vero is exactly what I thought about born in this battle and I was right.

It's obvious Vero wanted it more and that's why Born got smoked. Skill level only goes so far, it just becomes a matter of how hungry you are. If there was a hook at the end of the line worth it for both bboys I'm pretty sure the battle would've been epic.

born's first set was groovy though. obviously he didnt show technique like vero did for this entire battle, but his style was there(maybe not the best for a battle called match one skill).
regarding him joining mzk and making all his sets short and choking on the end for most of them, what you guys all say about that, i agree.

He loses the battle regardless. His whole not trying attitude is a sham, he might not be trying, but maybe he forgot how to try. I haven't seen Born do well since a little after he battled Casper. Before he got popular, and changed his style. Stop stalling before your rounds and camandoing.... its weak. Just imagine a BBoy with Born's moves who isn't Born. You'd think he has nice beatriding, not exactly musicality, but wasn't top tier caliber. His style isn't even unique anymore.
Born can't win against someone with a unique style and tricks like he used to have. Beat riding is impressive but Born has fallen off the map in my opinion. His rep gives him an advantage in battles not his moves or what he does. Even when Born does something impressive its overshadowed by his overplaying into his reputation and the image he's trying to uphold. Its like he is trying to play it off like he's not trying... but loses... and since he wasn't trying it doesn't mean anything.
@ApeRockSkii I hope I'm not ignorant in saying this but what you say about BC One isn't completely correct. Like Cloud vs. Kaku, Mostly "Style" vs 30 seconds of headspins and 2000's. And Cloud wins? if they really want to show they audience powermoves, why not let Kaku win? BC One is more commercialized than most competitions though.
vero just did the same shit a different way, kind of like how lilou gets by from pulling the same airchair in different variations. Born lost because he fucked up almost every set, but he did way more techs while vero was spamming the same variations. vero is dope, i like his fire and he is very swift, but he won because born fucked up.
Yea of course he is and i dont dislike vero or jinjo but being clean doesnt mean you have footwork, and yes vero does have footwork but i mean it is nowhere close to borns, but im also not saying born won this match either i think vero did, just that it wasnt a good matchup, like born vs beast2 or something woulda been tight

Born was awesome, but I have to say, I think Vero has more variety in his power , which gives him a bit more balance and an edge on Born. Not saying that Born doesn't have dope moves, just that I don't think he took Vero seriously, and by the time he did, it was already too late.Both are dope Bboys, but Vero has this round, and imo he deserves it.
Vero merked Born. is this the same Born that battled against USA at IBE in 2005 ? Cause that Born was cool as fuck and had style coming out the ying yang. This Born seems...I don't know...kinda corny. His gear is corny. He has some style and moves, but what happened to his tops ? Look at Project Korea vs USA IBE 2005 to see what I'm talking about.
actually i think his style is kinda repetitive as well. not as much as his power, but he IS supposedly a stylehead. But i think he just kills beats nowadays, not really coming up with new footwork tricks or different transitions... a lot of his vids look the same.. except he kills the beats in different ways. now THAT'S always dope as hell.

Yes the hat trick was nice, but i liked vero's musicality. Born thinks he can just kick his feet on the beat or something unoriginal like that over and over and win battles. and what you said about vero is exactly what I thought about born in this battle and I was right.

IMO vero's sets have more power and style in them whereas born has more footwork and style with a bit of power, and i guess most ppl likes seeing power over footwork especially when you do something like that crazy hat routine vero busted out

It's obvious Vero wanted it more and that's why Born got smoked. Skill level only goes so far, it just becomes a matter of how hungry you are.

I think vero took this one but this was a close battle. Born actually does better than he's been doing since the start of this year. A few years back he used to be damn hyped in battles and smoked with his toprock, now he seems to be taking things slow.

Erm...cos he got really popular around that time? And to be honest, back then (not sure about now, he wasnt redbull potential anyway, he relies heavily on the music to pump out the same moves for beatkilling and probably doenst have enough sets to get him thru the finals...and Redbull is chosen thorugh the public and sometimes thru the organisers (explains why cico has been in it for the last 4 yrs =.=)
