why do you insist on calling him a gringo and an American when he was born and lives in Panama? its not really adding any level of wisdom to the situation. its not about where this guy is from (that is the disgusting media narrative). its about the fact that some people have reached their limit with having their freedom of movement constrained. I am very sympathetic to the issue these protests are happening over. if people want to protest they should go to the area where the mine is and they should protest in front of every government building. holding the entire country hostage, preventing people from moving, from getting fuel and supplies, stopping businesses from operating etc is counter productive in the long run. and it is going to result in incidents like the one you focused on here. I know that this type of protest worked last time but that was because it was over things that the government had the power to give the people in the end. this issue is not so simple because it has legal complexities to it and the government cant just give the people what they are demanding. so, how long is it appropriate for these protests to go on? I am hearing a lot of very harrowing stories of people who are now literally trapped where they are. this can not go on for months. at some point the police and military will need to step in. and please dont try to play this off as if its on an equal ground with civil rights issues in the US because it certainly is not.

There are hundreds of videos that explain why The Panamanians are upset. What you refuse to understand is that they gave People an advance notice that the protest was coming, so they had every opportunity to stock up on supplies. They're using the only tool at their disposal/if that doesn't work for you, then move.
