I am 74 and have had cervical arthritis and stenosis since my 30s. Over the years, I have had 6 epidurals and have done fine. I know in the past, the problem has been between C4 thru C7. Now, the radiculopathy has come back, especially in my left arm down the triceps. I will be going back to see my spine orthopedist in the next month hoping that we can do conservative therapy to avoid surgery. He is a good man, and I know he won't push surgery unless he feel their no other options. My neck has always crackling when I turn from side to side, but never any pain. Thank you for going over conservative care. So many people want quick results. Patients is a virtue.
Hey, Dr. D! Using the injections (from your buddy-in-pain Dr. H) to help zero in on a diagnosis, that's exactly what you did for me. I'm coming up on 2 years since you fixed my spondylolisthesis with spinal fusion. No back pain, no leg pain, no regrets!
Your advice is good. My ablation has worked for 10 months well worth to have it done. Pain is slowly coming back. If I can do this once a year it is great. ❤😊 ps I live in Cape Town, South Africa
I was suppose to have a laminectomy and spinal fusion Oct.11 but I canceled and my ankle surgeon is upset with me ,but I was so scared I would fail it like I did my ankle fusion. But my DRS. are telling me I'm going to get worse.
@@DonnallySpineConsult no, thank you for explaining things in ways us ordinary people can understand! I'm sure you are a great surgeon when it's necessary. Move to Phoenix! 😂

My mothers age is 50 , she has back pain and numbness in one leg from several years.recent MRI shows moderate stenosis in l3-l4 and sever stenosis in L4-L5. I have tried NSAIDs , oral steroids and neuropathic meds. ortho and spin surgen suggestled fusion and laminoctomy, can you please suggest what is your opinion?
Hey there, I do about 15 new patient telemedicines💻🌎 every week. Here is the best path forward: 1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com (We don’t take HMOs or Medicaid, but can private pay, unless Medicaid) 2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images to my portal for our 1st visit. 3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X-rays are critical! “Just” MRI isn’t enough. Need to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed, or wanted. 4- You need to get your CD 💿 of your X-ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us) 5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🤯🥰 (or at a CVS with Physician LookUp Code k5037438) 6- To recap: email us, get CDs, THEN upload! Step by step: th-cam.com/video/HpKOfI_1FSs/w-d-xo.html - If HMO you can reach out to a Patient Navigator at www.sonoSpineSurgery.com and they can try to help connect us! I can not see BCBS HMO. Or for HMOs email: Refer@sonospinesurgery.com
I apologize in advance, I just wondered if I could possibly get your opinion on this… I am 38. I have had issues with my neck for years. I went to a chiropractor last year and he was doing table drops on my lower back which seemed to garner some relief but then he said the natural curvature of my spine was gone and began doing table drops on my neck, within an hour of him doing this, y hands and feet began to itch so severely that I wound up going to the emergency room, in which they wanted to give me anxiety meds to see if it helped, it only got worse and my whole body began itching, I went to the ER several times in which they had determined that I have become allergic to my Dog…they were right..I’m someone who has never been allergic to ANYTHING, not food, not environmental allergies, not medications nor animals and now if I have the most brief encounter with my dogs hair, I am in misery so I can’t even touch my dog now..I believe this is being caused by a spinal misalignment that is blocking a signal between my immune system and nervous system.
I’m 61 years old and had severe sciatic pain a few years ago. I had a series of two steroid injections from a pain management doctor that helped. It didn’t make it completely better, but I was able to go for the past four years with just regular back pain. The past few months, I’ve been doing some activity that required heavy lifting. I aggravated my back again and went to my primary care physician. While I’m waiting for a referral to a specialist, I’ve been watching videos from doctors like yourself. Thank you for all the info. Also, I’m sorry you’re from, live, and work in Dallas. Go Birds! 🦅 💚🤍💚🤍
Hi Dr, my name is Gabriel and I write you from Sardinia. Is it possible to have a consultation on a pathology? May I know the costs and how to send the MRI images? Thank you.
So, we don’t really know what long term use is going to do to our spine? I maybe get a few weeks of relief then they want to do it again and again. All three areas of my spine
in have herniated disk cause sciatica pain full i think i need endoscopic discectomy lumbar do you think i would need that if my next treatment steriod shot dont work would i need it also if i do get it what will it affect my disk by taking off my disk
@@DonnallySpineConsult sorry, you mentioned the injection procedure someone got and it was $17k. My PT charged my insurance about the same for virtually nothing. Everything they did was available on TH-cam. Not a big fan after 3 bouts for different issues and it has never helped. Seems like it's for people who can't exercise on their own or aren't active and it fulfills an insurance requirement. Insurance companies seem to want patients to give up and live with the pain.

What if you think of MILD or Vertiflex done by Pain Mgmt Dr?
Terrible idea

Deductible
I read that steroid injections are not FDA approved for the spine, is that true?

Is someone is experiencing foot drop would you try a conservative approach or have surgery as soon as possible
Depends on how long it’s been there. But in general, if it’s from my compression of the nerve and it’s debilitating, I would recommend intervention.
How do you feel about the rizotomy procedure?
Fine
I feel a pinched nerve under my shoulder blade
