Great video and good advice! I have an 1812+ running 24/7 since 2012
Only problem I have had is the battery and dom

Just came across your previous video and gave the resistor fix a try. Thank you! It's a wait-and-see situation now, however one thing I have noticed right off the bat is that my LAN status and status LEDs no longer light up. I have not yet tried the PSU resistor replacement in this video but that is up next.

If the LED's are not lighting up something is wrong. How long are you waiting? It takes a good minute or so for these to boot up. Did you perform at ATOM bug fix which is the 100ohm resistor which is not covered in this video?

@@GaryQuiring Yes, I did the 1k resistor job from your prior video. I realized that the status LED is on, but very very dim, however the LAN LEDs do not appear to be on. Apart from that though, the server's working like a charm. Very weird.

The LEDs came back overnight, and the server's IP addresses changed. Strange.

Can that battery be replaced without diving so deep into the unit? What happens when it’s removed, can instill get back into the unit?

You need to remove the board to replace the battery.

Your information is incorrect about the difference between a "103" marked resistor, and one marked "1002"
They are both 10k resistors. The only differences is manufacturers do not always mark them the same. Often times, the difference in % deviance is denoted by the color of the backfield area of the resistor. i.e. a black backfield with white 103 or 1002 markings on the resistor would usually be around 10% deviance, whereas a green backfield would denote a lower deviance %. Again, even that is inconsistent among manufacturers. at the end of the day, they are still 10k resistors, and in this instance, it doesn't really matter, as long as the resistor can handle the current.

You apparently did not listen to what I said at 12:35. I stated they are both 10k resistors, one being 10% the other being 1%.
