I carry the Saber aim and fire pepper gel gun myself. I like the compact size of the aim and fire and it's lightweight. The mace guns are to bulky for my EDC item. I like the trigger guard on the aim and fire because it's easy to use with gloves on. The gel is better because you'll get less blowback and won't affect none target subjects.
I have the white one it's great nice range simple to use quick safety release easy to carry on my belt on my right side it does make me feel more secure in case of emergency 🤘
I carry every day a gun and pepper spray. it is one my duty belt. while their are lots of people that carry a loaded gun on them I am not going to disrespect them , but they should get some sort of training. I grew up learning about guns and since 1979 have been involved in Martial Arts ( and there is NO ultimate style , just someone marketing and hype their style. you get out of it what you put into it and all styles have something to offer). I think pepper spray is important to have and even the pepperball guns as well. because alot of self defense cases involve someone who is unarmed and you can't shoot them. I have the pepper spray gun that is the smaller of the 2 in your video and I think the shape is better than a can. a can , can be grabbed the wrong way and you can spray yourself. this stuff does burn ( had to qualify with it so I do know) and the gun shaped cans help with that. just grab and aim like a real gun. and I see alot of people with guns holding them wrong even in you tube videos, especially revolvers. you have to hold a gun as high up on the back of the grip frame as you can. on a small revolver your hand web will be just over the top of the frame. this lowers the bore axis and makes the recoil seem a little less because the gun whips back less. and tighten your pinky and ring finger. this helps with control.
I think that we should have laws that require anything that may appear to be an actual gun but is not to be 'safety orange' and that colors like that are prohibited on real guns. I was a bit surprised when I found that the subcompact pistol I bought also came in orange. When I was a kid (way before the mega-squirtguns) many of the squirt guns would have been indistinguishable from at more than a few feet.
If you are looking for compact check out the saber aim and fire and the kimber pepper blaster they are very small perfect for conciled carry about the size of a pocket pistol or m&p shield
I keep the Mace 2.0 for home defense, but it's just very difficult to carry on person due to the fat boxy shape of the gun. For going out I just carry the regular sabre canister in my back pocket which is fine. However I hope in the future they manufacture a 3.0 version that is more compact, easier to concealed carry. If enough people request it from Mace Brand they may do it.
I also have the revolver one, and yes its definitely better for home defense, too bulky to carry around,although some women carry them in their purse I just carry a 2.5 oz. Can of Fox 5.0 .. good stuff.

The strobe is well worth it. Idk how you're saying you don't see the effectiveness of it. It's like basic combat training that shining any kind of light in the face of your opponent works great not only as a blinding effect which makes you a harder target to hit, it also confuses and disorients people if you catch them off guard with even the smallest distraction and a strobe is a GREAT disorienting effect. I've had mine for 6 years (thankfully never had to use) and the light is still just as bright and annoying as it was when I bought it, and that's after using like 5 of the test cartridges. Perhaps you got a bad battery, but even if, the little battery is EASILY replaceable if you watch a youtube video. But that's just me, and I'm NOT trying to shit on you or pretend like I'm some kind of expert which I am most definitely not. Just expressing my own experience which is anecdotal and shouldnt be taken as any kind of expertise or exceptional knowledge on the subject. Appreciate the video!

But I'll admit I would like the kimber more if it had a laser. But if I take up biking I think I'll copy your Mace/bag set up.
Honestly, the strobe option on the new models is stupid, Mace should have just kept it to a solid LED only. I agree the picatinny rail for the new gun is unnecessary for a tool with only 15 feet effective distance, it just adds more bulk. The flashlight can be useful if you need another hand free for your phone to dial 911 or open your vehicle to escape.
Keychain mace are puss ass & isn't intimidating looking so that's one guard that's automatically put down. You want to intimidate as fast as you can. With a gun shaped weapon it'd usually take less than a few seconds, with a keychain it'd take forever. Keychains are cute. You don't want people thinking you passing around toys when you take it out. You want something that looks kickass & threatening. With young (kids & teens) people, if you pull out a gun shaped something, they're gonna think "oh shit, he's gonna shoot my ass! 😱". With a keychain, they're going to think "oh shit, they're gonna give me a cute little keychain for my ugly ass backpack! 😀".
If a person it trying to stab me or my family and kids I wont more then a pepper spray I do have this pepper spray gun but I'm working on getting my hand gun license so I can buy a hand gun so if I need it I got it you have to take a class for 8 hours before you can buy one soooooo then you need another license classes to get a concealed carry permit which is a lot harder I want the best to protect my family if I have to use pepper spray but if the threat is going to kill us I want my gun but I do like the pepper spray gun I have the black one and always carry it but I still want my firearm on me at all times just in case you only have one life and sometimes only seconds to save it

A gun isn't for every situation pull it out for something stupid and your going to jail. It's always good to have another option Anyone who is going to carry a gun should have a back up for when a actual firearm is not needed

I actually found his position on this useful and educational. I was on the fence with gun vs pepper spray and decided on PS after hearing his views on the subject. Agree it is a personal decision, but LB is just sharing his views to people like me who may want to hear some pros/cons of this type of device compared to firearms.
The effectiveness of the flashing strobe is it can temporarily blind an attacker so it's very effective.

What's the deal on the rubber tip? Is it needed on both models? When I buy my canister should I make sure it has the rubber tip?

Most smaller portable keychain styles use smaller same shaped canister. Don’t see why they couldn’t do the same.

You are failing to take into account deterrence, 9/10 attackers flee at the sight of a gun. Using pepper spray in a fist fight is also escalation BTW.
And you are failing to account that brandishing a weapon is a felony that will land you in jail and cost a small fortune in legal fees.
