I know the feeling brother. My daughter went on a short vacation with some friends and when she got home she told me they liked it so much there they applied for an apartment. Two months later she was gone. She would visit a few times a year for 3-4 days. It would sting watching her pull out of the driveway on her way back home. You just don't get used to it. Thankfully my daughter has just moved back home. Stay strong Brent!

my daughter is only 8 and the other day i had a moment where i thought "wow... our time together is almost halfway through..." it really put me in a place where i appreciate the time we spend together and make every single moment count before they spread their wings and soar from the nest.
A parents job is never done.. we work and dedicate our lives to our children, in the hopes that one day they'll be ready to leave us. Good job Brent, you've been and continue to be an inspiration

I've been where you are with my daughter. She moved from California to Boston to take an awesome internship opportunity. She was there for 2 years and then got an even better opportunity back in California and moved back! When she said she was going to Boston, I felt very proud and also very anxious - she had never been more than a few hours away from us. The fact that your daughter is making this move shows you have done a great job - you have raised her to be strong and independent. She's only a plane ride away...
