I love this salsa! Smoking jalapeño can be a hit or miss when it comes to heat. I usually add a quick squeeze of honey to hide the heat so it sneaks up on people. Love love the salsa
You can NEVER go wrong with smoked salsa. I really like making a smoked pineapple salsa. LOVE IT!!! Congratulations on getting to 100k subs as well. I've been pulling for you guys over there. Well deserved!!! 👊👊👊
Just finished our batch... changed it up a bit... 2 jalapenos and a couple of serano's. And more garlic, about twice as much... 90 minutes, with Maple (one of my favorite smokes)... NICE!!!!!! Wife & I will continue to refine it and get back with the final amounts!
So now that we got home from work, and the salsa has been in the fridge for most of a day.... added a bit more lime, a touch of honey (serranos were hot this time around) and then we added 2 crushed bouillon cubes... that did it! Awesome stuff girl!
I made it. Don't know how to post a Pic here. I used hickory wood. I only smoked the veggies for 1 hour because they looked like they were getting pretty done. The garlic was quite brown. But after taking everything out of the grill, I probably could have went longer. I had to use Roma tomatoes. It was awesome for a taste test. I vacuumed packed the jar for 1 day and will see if the smoke really came together.
Definitely going to try this best part I have the tomatoes 🍅and peppers 🌶 growing in my garden. Thank you for the great recipe. While sitting here watching this I am smoking a 11 pound turkey today for are family reunion.
My daughter is getting married at the end of the month. She asked me to make this this for the grooms dinner pre-party. This weekend is a practice run.

We tried this recipe over the weekend and it did not disappoint! So easy to make and the flavor exceeded my expectations. We'll definitely be making this again. I wonder how it would be with tomatillos?
I'm not a big gardener, so no on the growing garlic question. I think you'd have to make salsa with avocado in it pretty chunky or you might just end up with fancy guac!
OK... as mentioned... round 3, and I think I have it squared away.... 9 Roma Tomatoes, 1 entire head of Garlic, 1 large onion, 3 seeded Jalapeno's, 3 Serrano's (smoked whole then seeded), do the 90 minutes in the smoker, apple works as well as maple, do the blender action but in addition to the cilantro, add 6 crushed chicken bullion. Then add lime & lemon to taste, blend a bit more and get the chips ready!
Someone said it turned brown because the veggies were warm and not cooled down when blended. Got a lot of likes. I also think it could be that and/or she added more than a cup of cilantro, plus smoke on the veggies.
Made this today and it is great! We added fire-roasted sweet corn to it for an extra pop of flavor.

cool the veggies before you blend it and it wont turn brown on you.
