  • 🌲 In this video, I give you an updated version of How I Pack for Tent Camping for my family of 7. I filmed this footage back in 2020 as we were getting ready for our annual camping trip but, unfortunately, I just never got around to editing it or sharing it with you. I share lots of tips that I've learned along the way from camping for the past 15 years so I hope they are helpful to you.
✦ For any camping gear, supplies, or I mentioned in the video, you can find them in my Camping Essentials Amazon Store, linked here (I do receive a small commission if you purchase an item on this list but it does not cost you anything extra; I also only list the items that I actually use and love): a.co/7sZwZEK

✦ Links to Google Docs for Packing Lists (These are pretty specific to my family, but after clicking on the link, you should be able to download the doc to your computer and then edit it yourself so you can tailor it to your own needs. These are also my Master lists so we don't always bring everything listed on them; I use them more as a reminder of items to bring so I don't forget year-to-year what we have brought in the past. I hope they help you!):

I find this vlogs so interesting to watch. I always get new tips when I watch your camping vlogs. I typically go beach camping with my child. So we bring a lot of water & sand play activities.

I'm so glad you like them! My goal is always to share any tips I have to make it easier because I appreciate anything that helps it to feel more like a vacation than just a trip. For us, it almost feels like we are beach camping since we spend so much time at the lake, which is so nice when it gets really hot out (plus spending time in the water and sand are great activities to keep the kids busy). Hope you enjoy whatever camping you get in this year!

I was rewatching your old video (yes for the 3rd time!) when I realized you have a new one! I’m already thinking about my trip in June even though I can’t even book my site until next month 😂
This year I think I’ll buy those cooler shock extra long life ice packs to avoid the watery mess of loose ice in the cooler. And I think we’ll get a canopy this year as well. Last trip a friend of mine borrowed one for the first time for her site next to ours and we realized how great it is and compact! So yea, I think I’ll upgrade my site this time around 😊. Appreciate your videos, they are super helpful!

I love our canopy! It's so nice in the heat of the day, for keeping debris off the table more, and for protection if it starts to rain. I'm so thankful we have one now.
Glad you've enjoyed so many of the videos 😊

Thank you for the packing lists! I think I've seen this video before and never paid attention to the lists being attached. It's overwhelming to look at but I still have some items prepared in totes from cabining last year.

You are so welcome! I find that focusing on one area of packing at a time can help me to not feel so overwhelmed (like food, clothes, toiletries, camping gear, etc.). Also, after each trip, I make notes on what worked well, what didn't, what we did and didn't use, and if there are any items I need to buy. Then when the next trip rolls around, I look at those notes and it really helps me with getting ready and I don't have to rely on my memory for all those details.

I wanted to thank you for the table tip!! I've been momming for over 17 years and 🤯 it just never occured to me. I'd try to pile things for trips in various "unused" places - and every time, something would get picked up and moved out of the way (because the spaces were in fact not "unused") and then almost/get left behind as we left. I'm going to bring in our folding table and set it up in the basement the next time I begin trip prep. Just goes to show, no tip is too 'mundane' to share. 😅

You are so welcome! The staging table has been a game changer for me, not just for camping prep but for other trips and for just needing to have a place to gather things for an event but not be in the way. I'm so glad that tip was useful!

I loved this video! I caught the first one (when you show camp and the setup there) while i was packing us up for our trip this year and i was able to get some good tips. I loved this prep video too for the same reason. Im a list maker also, so its nice to see someone else on that wavelength even while camping lol! Thank you for these videos and i hope you continue this series for years to come!

You're so welcome! I'm glad they are useful/helpful. I have my next video coming out on 10/22/2023 and it's all about how I prep ALL of our food to go camping. Hope you enjoy it!

    Hi Sara!
Where do you get you ice blocks from?
    Thank you!

I get them from Stater Bros. I have also gotten them from Smart and Final Extra in the past but not consistently. We're in California so I'm not sure if either of these are available outside of it.
