I had a drunk dad who gave me such a whack to the face one night, I felt a “crack” and blinding pain. I woke up the next morning with a swollen nose and my eyes looked black even though I was only hit in the nose. It wasn’t broken, it was fractured. He was too afraid of taking me to get treated for fear of social services taking me away upon finding out why I was even there. I was 8.
Since then, my nose has been a huge source of anxiety, shame and ridicule. I finally got a rhinoplasty several years ago and not only do I finally feel at peace with my nose, like I finally have the nose I should’ve had all along, I can finally breathe properly. I lived with a deviated septum as a result, I had impaired breathing and had no idea all these years, and it’s only NOW I can feel the difference.
So, to all you criticizing those who get plastic surgery, abstractly prejudging that we ALL get it because we have some type of dysmorphic body issue and only do it for pleasing others, you can get in line to kiss my daisy white ass 👋😬!

Your reason for plastic surgery is very valid. It's just that some people do it just for vanity, but it's their body and they can do whatever they want. So sorry you had to go though this.

Untrue - it's that bones around the nose - and the skull in general - shrink with age making the nose appear larger....bc the bone is the nose does not shrink along with cheekbones, etc.
That said, the cartiledge 'droop' of the nose tip, making the nose appear longer - is not a matter of nose 'growth' - rather its just due to gravity, over time.
AND... can be counteracted with manipulation of this cartilege (which is malleable), plus exercising the nose to condition this cartiledge - if you know what you are doing.

That was really interesting. I've never had a desire to get a nose job. I have had people tell me I should lol but I happen to like my nose. One thing though I didn't like was as I've gotten older my nose had gotten larger (Not just longer) but it was like what ever. There is a point...
Anyways I started gua sha for well aging. It has worked very well. But guess what? It has made my nose smaller. Yes it has. No really it has lol I guess my nose was holding on to lymph due to inflammation?? So now my nose is back to looking like it always had. I'm pretty happy with that. I also removed bumps from the side of my nose with it. Little crunchy bits in the fascia under the outer layer of skin can be removed with gua sha.

I had rhinoplasty done with hyaluronic acid, I have a small asymmetry in the nasal bone and even when is still obvious with the fillers the asymetry in the bone, I am very happy with the result and they lifted the tip of my nose, although the symmetrical side of my profile looks a little better than the asymmetrical side and I am thinking about something permanent and I have heard about "methacrylate" that they also use it for many years, but at the same time I have heard on internet very negative things about it and people with bad experiences of complications and the shape changes over time and they end up having surgery and that scares me a lot, because i know the current result is only temporary and surgery is very expensive and complicated but I would like to know how to have a permanent result and keep my nose beautiful without doing every 5 months the same procedure with hyaluronic acid, WHAT CAN I DO???? Why does methacrylate have such a bad reputation and scary testimonies?

I can’t imagine taking one person’s opinion on beauty! When I was growing up I had the misfortune to have a father who told me what makes a beautiful woman. He went through a woman’s body parts and the “correct” size. When I was 14 he told my stepmom & siblings in front of me that my boobs weren’t done growing (he had a disgusting look on his face) & compared them to my older sister’s boobs. His face & words was sickening when he described their boobs! When I was 30 he told the whole family that I used to have a sexy body when I was 18. He verbally sexually abused me until he died at 72. 😢

I did a little research on the anatomy of the nose because my issue is a little different having had a prosthesis implanted where there was missing bone directly under the base of my nose above the filtrum, and cleft lip and it turns out all I really need is a strengthening and lengthening of the medial crus to create a supratip break ...the one I used to have as a kid. That would give me more projection at the nasal tip as well. I heard of a sutra technique, too, but I don't know if that works with me or how permanent that is. But definitely, that medial crus being longer and stronger would push my nose up back to where it once was. When I grasp my columnella; that thick piece of tissue that separates your nostrils, and I pull it out and up. My nose looks absolutely normal again. Full silicone nasal implants sound not so good.I've seen people having to get them taken out, so I wonder if there's a silicone prosthetic medial crus that can be implanted if that's all I need.

Louise Brooks had a perfect statuesque nose. When you were born with cleft lip as I was, you do notice beautiful noses. Mine is very small with tiny nostrils. Thats fine, but there is so little projection and it looks "tired." It's drooping, but is NOT longer. Why does NOBODY address a surgery commonly done in Asia which is to insert a silicone nasal implant? It's permanent, is not a filler, looks surgically easy to implant, and doesn’t change over time. I was born with cleft lip and an upturned nose. That is the self-image I've had in my mind growing up. My whole family has faces that have upturned noses. As you grow up and you have scar tissue from a cleft lip surgery performed on you as a baby, your nose can pull to one side, the nostrils can become misshapened (even if your nose was never what was surgically altered, as in my case), the scar can become more obvious, etc. Thus, I had some adjustments done at age 19, which included dibble tip rhinoplasty. After that, a surgeon inplanted a prosthesis where there was missing bone directly under my filtrum, but that did not impact my nose. The surgery at age 19 was the first surgery done on my actual nose. It was still upturned, but had so little projection, it looked like a cat's nose on a human face. My bridge has always been just fine, but the tip is strangely minimal. Lastly, in my early 40s, I had the second procedure on my nose to give more projection using cartilage from the back of my ear. It was very expensive and did little to help. It is still not projecting much more, but the devestating thing is that I lost the family trait of an upturned nose. It actually goes down, does not suit my extroverted personality, and ages me. The skilled surgeon even tried to correct it a second time, but it is downturned and doesn’t project to this day. I healed freakishly fast, too. They were stunned at how fast the swelling and bruising went down by my first visit because he had to do an open radical deviated septum as well because my deformity had blocked my breathing by 85%. Why does NOBODY on these channels discuss silicone nasal implants, which are quite common in Asia due to a plethora of tiny noses with barely, if any, a bridge or projection? Obviously, it's permanent and won't migrate around since it is permanently attached to your nose. It also seems like it would be an easier procedure since you merely insert and attach it as is. Like I said, I like my bridge. I only need an added tip with projection and take-off like I originally had when I was a kid. It makes you feel like an outsider and an imposter when your nose is so different from your entire extended family's.

I think you would've liked me as a rhinoplasty patient. I loved that 1st year and a half right after surgery! Every day was an adventure because I literally had a different nose each morning when I woke up. I hated the nose I started off with so much that the way it looked right after surgery was already so much better. So even with all the swelling at it's worst, my new nose was so much cuter than what I originally had.
I have a question....I had that first rhinoplasty and then had a revision about 3 years later because the sides (mostly nostrils) were not symmetrical and it was still a little too wide. So after the revision it was perfect! Unfortunately I think I mightve broken my nose or at least damaged it enough to where now one side is crooked and again I wish it was just a tiny bit smaller/ thinner. You said a 3rd surgery was a bad idea....anything you would recommend I could do to fix my banged up nose?? Even if it doesn't end up petfect, it would be nice to see it a little less crooked.

The nose also has fat in it. Does one nose have more fat then another and would a fatreducing treatment like hifu make the nose smaller?

People are known for having ugly noses. We all know this. Bad news, folks. Noses get bigger the older you get.

Once you get it done once it’s very common to have to get it revised 2-3 times again after first surgery. My guess is it’s too much work to get the desired outcome for the patient.

@@raquelrocky3646exactly I had nose job 5 months ago in Turkey , I had to lift my tip and fix my nostrils, but instead of those he gave me two different sides profile and two different nostrils one is bigger than other from front view, and he did turbinates reduction without my permission and now I have lots of problems 😢 next month I am going to Iran for treatment for the pain, I still have pain in my nose 😢😢😢 will go for revision after a year 😢😢😢

I think those clips might actually work because when I was in my early 20s, I had a winter Jacket that had a zip up collar that would come up to my nose area and when it got really cold I would tuck my face inside the zipped up collar to shield my face from the wind. The shape that this collar and the way my nose snugged up against it made a downward pressure on the tip/ cartridge of my nose and after wearing this jacket for a year or two I noticed that the tip seemed more elongated than before and that it made my nose look narrower and more pointed than before and that the cartridge was more malleable and flexible than before.
My nose stayed like that up until a couple years ago when somone head butted me on purpose during a basketball game... thats another story. The cartridge shriveled back up and the time looks more bulbous now.

I was told when I was younger that I have a perfect nose the young nurses overseas have ever seen. They call more nurses into the room to check on me. I have sinus problems ever since until now. I’ve also had bells palsy 11 yrs ago and one nostril on my right side of nose wouldn’t open wide as the left because of synkinesis. :( I’m so frustrated over this.

what about botox into the nasal area to make it narrower by way of reducing the nostril flairing?
